Up for sale I have a 2011 1BTC Casascius redeemed coin. This was one of the first three Casascius coins I got and [regretfully] redeemed. It was not Series 2 w/the windowed first bits. It is the same blank that unredeemed versions are going $700+ for on eBay.
I have sold a number of Casascius 5BTC Blanks at auction on eBay. They all went for $150+, except for one that sold for $127. I clean and polish the coins and market them as reloadable. I include a case, tamper-proof hologram, and instructions on how to reload the coin.
The 5BTC blanks I sold on eBay were all 2012. Why am I not selling these myself on eBay, then? I made a stupid move and sold some with .05 BTC balance, prompting PayPal to suspend my account and call me an ecurrency dealer.
If you put these under the "collectibles" (and NOT money) category, and emphasize they contain no bitcoin value as-is (the customer has to add it themselves-these are either already prepped for loading or you send the customer all the materials they need to prep it for loading), PayPal literally has no ground to remove the listing or do anything to your account. Considering the 2012 5BTC sold for so much, I can only imagine what a 2011 BTC round will sell for. Of course, you could keep the round as a collectible yourself if you wanted.
Included will be a hardshell case, multiple holograms, and detailed instructions. I am asking 0.5BTC.
