Quite an interesting service you're offering here.
How about I make it a bit more interesting:
Starting 18:00BST on 10 July 2015, any offers to buy will receive a discount of 0.005BTC (10% of original price).
Every three hours after that the price will drop a further 0.005BTC until it reaches 0 (Free!).

Terms:
  • Offers to buy must be posted in this thread.
  • Codes sold/given in this way are limited to one per member, and new members may be restricted from purchase if I suspect abuse of this offer.
  • Offers to buy will expire after 24 hours without payment, forfeiting the code and reducing the codes available under this offer by one, unless the delay is on my part.
  • There is a limit of 10 codes available under this offer.
  • Any additional services, such as posting SIM cards, may have a charge even if the Power Code is given away free.

Quite an interesting service you're offering here.
I'm on a UK business contract operated by EE and although their mobile service isn't great, this was definitely something good to do and have them good PR. I can go to any EE shop (there are plenty around London) and change my dead bar for a fully charged one. All I can say is well played EE. These bars are actually pretty decent and useful Smiley

Don't you have to hand these back after 18 months or so?

Technically, yes but in practice, even if you don't hand it back, without knowing who you are and without being able to take the fine out of credit, EE is unlikely to be able to do anything about it.

The reason they are calling it a hire agreement is because it makes it legally easier for them to swap the bars, and also allows them to control the age (corresponding to remaining charge cycles) of the Power Bars in circulation.

Also, it would be really bad publicity for them if they actually charged people, especially since most people think it is for free.

Update 12 July 2015: NOW FREE!

Update 09 July 2015: See post #5 for potentially free offer.

Normal Price: 0.05BTC, equivalent to £9 at 180 GBP/BTC rate.

For sale: codes for EE Power Bars as pictured.

Upon receiving BTC, either directly or via escrow, I will give you the code and corresponding phone number.

Then you have to go collect the Power Bar from your local EE store, so make sure your store has stock prior to requesting a code.

Once I have given a code, I will not normally be able to provide refunds, as a code could be used, and then a refund requested. If anyone has any suggestions on how to resolve this, please let me know.

Codes last for 30 days, and as of 06 July 2015 most are already about a week old.

Preferably, anyone providing escrow will live in the UK, with access to an EE store, so they can verify that the codes I am providing are valid.

I will provide a free power bar code to the escrow provider, to prove that the codes I provide are valid. If the escrow desires, during the first few sales, I will provide sales+1 codes, from which the escrow can randomly select a code and collect the Power Bar, verifying its validity.
