Will your project be involve while people are using your services they would also be renting their pc's mining power in return? I don't think users will like that as they would really spend more compared to just buying their own netflix account which they can divide to four more users. Your idea is good but I don't see how you will be obtaining their movie licenses without paying the producers big amount of money when your main income is not coming from your viewers which a lot of streaming services are getting from.

I have and it does not require mining for sure. I drop you a hint in last reply to @Vod.

And yeah, the first issue in building this idea IS to persuade movie studios that making this idea come true would be better benefit to them while cutting their costs Smiley

@Kakmakr - you were close breaking my idea, but not too close Smiley

You want to make content free, so everyone can join and watch Superman without paying anything, but you want to make the greedy studios happy. Good Luck with that. I hope you have some connections and a plan. Cheesy

He is going to mine the user's computer - he just thinks whatever he is planning is not called "mining".  :/

I won't be disclosing too much information about the idea YET, but believe me, it is true and possible. There is also one "lie" inside my sentence from last post, but not that big and it hides the answer to your question (not mining nor third-party advertising).

As I told in a first post, this is going to be an ecosystem rather than just movie streaming platform.

Well, the money has to come from some place, so someone is going to have to pay for it. The movie industry is definitely not going to foot the bill for this, so it will have to come from the consumer or the advertisers or the content provider.

The best funding method must be the consumer, but they will have to pay much less for the content than what is currently provided by services like Netflix.

A monetized Pirate Bay with micro payments for content must be the solution. The user pay for the content and a portion goes to the content creator.  Wink

I am talking about erasing "pirate" word and idea from whole entertainment industry, while providing legal content to worldwide users "for free", while keeping studios making money for their work.

Sounds too goo to be true.  The money has to come from the person who views the content.  How is the end user going to make money watching the video?

Dear BitcoinTalk users,

I've been a passive member of Bitcointalk forum for a while and I've got some idea that stuck in my head over and over again for almost 4 months.

As I am sure, most of you are movie fans and some of them even wondered what it takes to change the entertainment industry once and for all? I am not talking about making any regulations to the current industry standards and business decisions.

I am talking about erasing "pirate" word and idea from whole entertainment industry, while providing legal content to worldwide users "for free", while keeping studios making money for their work.

I've placed the phrase "for free" under quotation mark for a reason, there's no such thing as free in this world, but my idea doesn't require any form of mining or advertising or even requiring consumer to pay for it. It's about creating an ecosystem that both consumers and studios would benefit of. And everything thanks to the blockchain technology.

My idea is bit complex to realize, but I am sure that with enough manpower and funding, it will see the light of day.

I think I said too much already and I wanted to see if anyone would like to share thoughts about the idea or if someone is possibly interested in this (financially or technically).

Please, share your thoughts.

p.s - we have already started with making this idea alive

Sincerely,
John Doyle, WWWatch
