could someone explain the benefit of using x13 over x15? I understand X15 is encrypted with more functions and is therefore more secure but is it overkill? which algorithm is better because they are both pretty similar.

X13 has no Whirlpool-512, the way it's done in the public kernels is dead slow.

anything on top of keccak is pretty much overkill already...
