You can get better exchange rates if you buy directly from an exchange like Bitstamp, Kraken and Coinbase. If you don't care at all about getting the best price, using Xapo would obviously be the easiest way (since you already have an verified account). It all depends on what you are looking for.
I have already registered on Bitstamp, Coinmama and some other exchanges too. But, they took a long to verify. I submitted documents two weeks ago. But, still Bitstamp/Coinmama verification processes are pending. How long it will take?

-if you eye for long term...
-right now that you are currently having a problem on verification at the mentioned exchanges for weeks...
-you really need to buy bitcoin right now...
-you are fine with XAPO fees...

I don't see any problem if you used XAPO to buy bitcoins. All exchanges are good for buying, it's just that they have different fees. But since you are a verified XAPO user, you are now one click away for buying bitcoin at them so you can consider it now rather than waiting for long period of waiting for your verification on other exchanges on which some of them takes months.

I will never trust both xapo and coinbase with my money because I have seen lots of issues other have got there when trying to buy large amount of bitcoin or when trying to withdraw their bitcoin out of those wallet.

Fair points, but there are always several sides to a story. In case of Coinbase, it's by far the largest player in this market, so if you look at how many people have registered there, then even a small percentage of the people with problems will account for a large number, while it in reality isn't all that bad percentage wise. On top of that, Coinbase is known to be the strictest exchange in this market, and that of course adds fuel to the fire as well. Xapo on the other hand is a service I too wouldn't trust. Xapo has lost a major part of its user base at the moment they stopped with free external transactions. All the faucet farmers having used Xapo to withdraw their dust are gone to Coinbase due to more services offering payouts through Coinbase's in-system payouts that happen to be instant and free.

Use bitstamp, kraken and bitpanda to buy bitcoin and move those coin to bitcoin wallet where you will have full control (you hold private key of your address).

If your planning to hold for very long term and if you don't have any other options to buy bitcoin currently then you can use XAPO to buy because now prices are low and if you sell at higher price then those transaction fees may be that high for you instead of waiting for other exchanges to verify your documents. I'm using XAPO wallet for more than 2 years and so far it works well but only their transaction fees are very high currently.

Most exchanges are now experiencing a huge amount of traffic e.g. mass account openings, support queries, verifications etc... which is the reason why there are severe delays and bitstamp is not an exception: https://www.bitstamp.net/article/update-high-demand/

Navigate in the "exchanges" board here on forum and on reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitstamp/), you'll see that some people's verification are even delayed for more than a month  Shocked

Frankly I have uninstalled my xapo mobile wallet and I'm not using anymore my account there. But you can buy bitcoins with xapo and the thing is when you are about to send bitcoin to other wallets (non xapo wallet) you will see how much it costs just for you to send that payment. They are no longer free and it has been a long time since they started to increase the fee. What's good with them is that they have xapo wallet but it's limited on where you can use it.
