A happy Xapo User with BTC Debit Card

PS: Normally it is in a few hours ready. The Support reply in less than 24h ask them

that means the Xapo Debit Card is already available?
Do you really have a card?

Please tell us about the fees, your experiences when paying with the card and so on.

Thank you  Smiley

There are no fees for a Transaction (don't know if it would change later) you only pay 15dollar in BTC for Shipping, build of Card ...

But the best is the reaction when you pay.

We accept Bitcoin?
I am not sure if it work!?
Are you joking ?
And much much more.

And I need to explain it ever.

It is a normal CC only connected with my Bitcoin Wallet.

And it is not available for now it is an early Access like a closed Beta. You get a card only with many many luck. But don't be sad they ship in a few Weeks the Card in batches

Warning: http://help.xapo.com/95219-What-fees-are-associated-with-the-Xapo-Debit-Card

looks like classic bait and switch. None of these fees were announced when we signed up initially.

You know that it's normal that a Bank has fees, because Xapo is now a real bank with normal fees.

I also don't like it but 3% is not much

For 100 dollar you pay 3 dollar fees

Have you looked at their fee structure? It is higher than many banks and any of the bank I currently use or have in the past.
Additionally, they have been lying to clients all along saying no additional fees :

https://web.archive.org/web/20140708113128/http://help.xapo.com/categories/5988-Debit-Card/questions
"Does the Xapo Debit Card carry any additional fees?
No. After the initial $15 fee for the physical card and shipping, merchants will pay all fees just as they do for debit and card cards but there won’t be a fee for the customer."

Why are the slipping this in at the last moment the same time they are shipping the product instead of giving people a heads up?

So the transaction finally went through. Just wish they would have mentioned somewhere that it might take longer than 24 hours.

Normal they only need a few hours. It could be that the Tresor was closed, because it opened only a few Times a day

wait what? xapo uses tresor?

Yes,

I don't know which model but yes they have more than one.

This is only an example and not the real from Xapo

I understand that it takes some time, but on the messages they sent me they do not say the time is an estimate. "Your bitcoins will be available in your Wallet in the next 24 hours." Note the keyword "will". The debit card hasn't been released yet, I'm not sure how you claim to be a user of one.

There was an early Access I was one of the first. If you create a new Account and Order a CC you can invite 20 friends and if they register there you get with a bit luck also Early Access

A withdraw need a few time and the 12-24h is a about. The process is not easy and fast.

All data is written encrypted at a Paper (multiple times) saved digital encrypted again saved in a Save. Original File (written) is put also in a Save. This is a long way. And they do much much more

Our Vaults are located deep underground in geographically dispersed locations on three continents. Once we receive the private keys we physically store them on offline servers that never have and never will have access to the internet. The servers are guarded with physical security and biometric verification 24/7.

If you have more questions feel free to ask the Support.

Cheers

Wanting to test out xapo.com's vault for myself I transferred around 0.06BTC into the vault (insured storage) which was easy. When I went to withdraw it a day later it said it would take 12-24 hours to complete the withdrawal and after jumping through the typical 2FA hoops I waited...and waited. Now its been close to 30 hours since I submitted the request to withdraw from my vault and still no BTC in my wallet. The way they describe the process it takes an actual person to complete the request. No reply from support...

My guess: They are too busy partying after receiving all the venture capital money.

I am sure a few days from now I will eventually receive my BTC, but next time I am just going to make a paper wallet.
