Dream become broken often
ax1200 a bit much unless he has extra $$ laying around...got my 1000w seasonic plat. for 200 and it can handle 6990,5870,5850 no problem Cheesy

I found my PSU's +12V supplies 20A. Does it make sense that 480 W (2 x (12V x 20A)) would be my theoretical maximum?

Note: The PSU is 6 years old.

Oh yea, sounds like a really weak PSU. Just get a proper one and you should be good. Proper ones include seasonic, corsair, etc high-end ones. For future expansion needs I would get ax1200 right away.

Your psu or mobo or something is probably cooked.

Check that the pci-e power connectors are from seperate rails. Also check every capacitor on the gpu, mobo and psu for signs of damage/wear.

Just tried cgminer and same immediate shutdown occurs.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Tried mining using phoenix and bitminter clients at stock clocks with 70% fan speed.

1 x Intel Core 2 Duo E7500
1 x AMD 6990
2 GB RAM

This is all connected to a 850 W PSU.

Within a few minutes the windows 7 x86 shuts down. Phoenix client also states that it can't patch BFI_INT?
