If I hadn't taken a pause and thought it necessary to go check the official page and that of exchanges mentioned by the project team for confirmation, I'd have fallen victim to scammers.
(How can we stop this as it's getting out of hand)

My second observation is this...why are there different prices on $XION pre-trade on different exchanges? I recall the exchange mentioning only Bitget and Bybit for launchpool so, should one trust the other exchanges?

First of all, scammer are getting out of hand and scammers also getting smarter nowadays I actually fell like couple of times but luckily I never approved their smart contract because if you approved once you are gonna be doomed. Just make sure to double check the link before making any sign or check.

Second it called "pre-trade" because the exchange is IOU or Exchange owe you the money they didnt have the token yet only sell basically an AIR  Grin of course the price gonna be different from one and another because user didnt trade the real token and cannot deposit or withdraw or onchain transcation

It's crazy how these scammers come out of the woodwork as soon as a project announces something big. Your experience is a great reminder to always double-check info through official channels before doing anything.

And yeah, it's not surprising to see different prices for $XION on different exchanges. Market speculation, liquidity, and other factors can all impact prices. Just remember to stick with official sources, like the project team and reputable exchanges, to get the most accurate info and avoid any potential risks.
That is not surprising anymore. Scammers are wise guys. They are always after the hype to make things easier for them. Apart from experience, I think doing a research as a newbie, or as a user that only have less experience, can still make us aware of some things. If the exchange is not owned by the same person, then yeah they can have a price difference. But a difference in price can also depend on those factors that you listed there.

If they did not mention other exchange, then I don't see why one should trust them, however tempting the price, maybe. I also often see announcements from the official handles of the project and involved exchanges on the upcoming launches and programs.
Anyone who ignores the announcements and then goes on to deal with an exchange that is not the official partner is really to blame from any lose of funds that could happen.
Maybe they are simply not interested on other exchanges? That is why. But they will still be listed on some of them. It is not enough basis tho of trusting a project but we also need to look for other things. Announcement wouldn't be called as that for no reason. Yes it is important and everyone should pay attention to it.

apparently that's the thing nowadays, so many scammers trying to drain people of their money, I personally always stick to whatever project's discord list official links.
even bing and google isn't a safe place from the shady phishing.
Scammers are already there even before but indeed that their numbers have only grown, also because the popularity of crypto have also improved. Google and Bing are just search engines that index results from different websites, no wonder why phished sites can get included there but for messaging applications like Discord, we are sure that the links pinned their by the admins are legit, assuming that they are already a legit project. Discord is also trusted compared to Telegram.

price difference on pre trade is normal, since there's no way of withdrawal it also means no way for arbitrage and market maker to match the price.
I've seen of pre market having this problem, as someone who tries to find arbitrage opportunity personally I won't touch pre market.

XION launched today. I didn't qualify obviously but I heard it's an interesting one. I also heard there are no wallets for their chain since everything is built around chain abstraction and hiding most of the blockchain stuffs away from users (hence the abstraction bit).

For anyone who claimed today, how was the experience? How did they know which user is which and where to send the tokens for claiming?

It's pretty common lately to see scammers trying to sabotage prominent or popular projects and it gets me overwhelmed negatively!

We're familiar with $XION right? The L1 blockchain centered on user experience. You can read more about it yourself. https://xion.burnt.com/

So, $XION announced TGE for the 5th of December and the moment that announcement was made, tons of phishing links by suspicious accounts started flooding X, talking about redistribution of $XION airdrop and to check for claiming eligibility. One thing I noticed was that they required one to connect their wallets to the link and to be honest, I almost fell for it.

If I hadn't taken a pause and thought it necessary to go check the official page and that of exchanges mentioned by the project team for confirmation, I'd have fallen victim to scammers.
