Great news for Ripple that their new technology is coming online but I get the feeling that quite a bit of the expectation was baked into the price in the past couple of weeks with that jump to almost $0.9 in a kind of buy the rumour sell the news type way.

I do not understand the process very well, it seems like a good idea, but it still needs a few years to become a killer feature.if you look at the charts and also the news from a while ago you can clearly see that what OP posted is not exactly news! it is pretty old. the "going live" happened now but the news of it came out before and they already pumped it and milked the news as much as they could. in short price went from around 6000 to 12000 satoshi and is dumping back down now.
there is no more room left for a new pump this soon. specially since XRP is already considered overpriced.
But what's interesting to me is that this news will be a signal and trigger to start a pump and not to be missed.
The pump didn't start yet and I am sure that traders don't miss such news. It may be because XRP is already pumped for some while?

I agree that it would create a significant change in the market which would give some profits but an announcement is just another news which would benefit mostly traders. After the hype it would again crash after a couple of days since Bitcoin traders have threats refer to: Crypto Market Crash

Now let's watch and see how XRP will go to the moon or at least make a significant gains because of this new hype. Everyone should get onboard now. hehehe. It has surpassed ETH on the last couple of days but I don't think it will be enough though in the coming weeks or months.
