bitshares has 100k tps the fastest blockchain
The technology have no special, i think its mostly copied from Nem but there are some small change that may make Xtrabyte replace Nem. We still need to wait more on those change to decide invest to this coins or not.
Of course it is no substitute. Don't even want to compare the sect is nem, there's a bunch of fanatics who every day waiting for a catapult. But XBY well by the end of December it was possible to raise a lot of x's with this project. Possibly even continues to grow up a bit. but I have little faith that this project will be a multi-billion dollar.

Test environment results mean nothing. What is important is whether same transactions per second can be achieved with millions of users on the network.
Completely true, not a bad coin to invest though, even if failing advertisement makes pumps and you can find large profits in these
True, hopefully the devs can maintain these performance figures once the network is loaded, we'll see i guess, but the devs are pretty good so I think they should be able to pull it off

XBY does look good, being pumped now, I was going to buy some a few weeks ago around 300 sats, now at 1200sats... missed out 
Compare that to NEMs Catapult that is being worked on that hopes for 4000.
