I think it's high time we stopped spreading FUD on some coins. I understand you are concerned about the dip and you are making enquiry, but the dip doesn't depict scam, no coin is above dip. You might see BTC today at 6k+ and the next Moment it's 5k, that goes same for every coin. This moment, you can check back XVG and see it's on rocket ship when a big news starts going round. If XVG is a scam, then 90% of all crypto projects are a scam. the price fluctuation of a token on exchanges does not justify the fact it's a scam. with various partnerships that XVG has, I wouldn't call it a scam. however, I can say that it's is not the most honest project I have seen. but they have done some really great job at making the users happy and boosting the token price. when we talk of scam projects, virtually almost all blockchain projects is a scam. we just don't call them scam projects because the 'scam' threshold level has been increased a lot in blockchain

I don't think Xvg is a scam because I already make a lot of money from XVG in the last year.
But I know that XVG cannot always stay in the top of the coin among the other and maybe xvg needs more time to be the potential coins in the future especially if the bull market happen.
But I still save more xvg before this year, and I see that the price can increase although it is not much.
Maybe xvg can increase back soon, and I hope that the price can reach higher than the last year.

LOL... How do you classify a scam project? If this is your analysis of scam, then all cryptocurrency is a scam because every coin out there have lost more than 50% of their prices this year alone. XVG is far from being a scam project as of today.

Following your logic, all the coins on the market are scam, because at different times, each coin fell in price 2, 3 or more times.

This does not mean a project fraud, the price is just an indicator of investor interest at a given point in time. Today, the price may dump by 2 times and everyone will shout that this project is a scam, and next week it will pump 3 times and everyone will say that this is the most honest project in the world Grin

I think that price is not a such indicator, by which we can distinguish a fraudulent project from a honest one

Not at all, actually the price isn't encouraging according to your reason for calling xvg scam, i don't believe xvg is scam because of low price, there are token who have gone more way below xvg price.

Of course not. XVG is now very long living cryptocurrency and still kicking like bitcoin. They are not a scam it is just the market is not ready for this specific coin. Hopefully in the future this coin will increase and make an improvement in their system.

I saw few coins which the value has dropped more than -80%, but they are not a scam coin.
Maybe because there were some pumps in the past, peoples bought it and the others dumped it later.

It's not cool to judge if a project is a scam or not via it's pricing because many things could contribute in causing a dip in the price of a coin, once a project turns out to be a scam, you really don't need anyone to tell you because you will see it from the way they begin to behave lately and also how active they are about the project, so please make your research properly to know if it's really a scam or not.

10 satoshi is to much for xvg. If you want a coin like xvg buy Doge. Much cheaper much better.

Also, dogecoin is merged mined with litecoin which makes its blockchain very much more secure than Verge. Verge was 51% attacked last year and the hackers stole $1 million.

@crypto1998. I recommend that you wait for grin to be sub $1 then begin buying.

Fall in price doesn't make a coin scam. There might be several reasons for a coin to fail to gain a price.
You just needs to keep patience and diverse your funds in a number of legit coin.
XVG is a popular privacy focused coin. They might gain again someday in future.

I think a lot of factors that can cause a decline can occur because the market conditions are still unstable or maybe someone in a large scale sells all of those coins can impact the price, for dev selling coins can but if that happens surely some famous exchange Delist against this coin but for now it doesn't happen

If we should judged all ico by price then virtually all altcoins are scam because almost all of them are trading below their all time high, the market condition has affected price of altcoins even the number 1 cryptocurrency bitcoin is not left out.

I don't know if it is a scam or not because I didn't follow it up and so I don't have any prove whichever way but, the fact that a token or coin has gone through hard times and depreciation of price is not avway to know a scam project since they are still existing and remember that many coins also dropped in price and are just picking up.

It's not a scam, it's an unfortunate victim of fomo and over reaching trading.

At the time when McAfee shilled it, prviacy coins were seen as the next "big thing"
There was a lot of talk of regulations and stuff so people thought that privacy coins would become more valuable.
So people were scrambling to find an undervalued privacy coin that would blow up.
McAfee tweeted that he had high hopes for it (this was during a very bullish crypto season)
Then, it all combined together and it did blow up.
It went so ridiculously high, check it's growth charts and history its insane.

But, ironically, that is what doomed it.
Nothing can maintain that kind of growth, not in stocks, not in real estate and definitely not in crypto.
It crashing is a result of the overall market crashing but also itself becoming a victim to supply and demand.

Yes, John McAfee help the coin to surge back then but XVG is not a shit or scam coin. However, the reason why the coin don't have enough reputation with support was because of the concept behind it creation(it was purpose for anonymous fast transaction and it not a private company funded by pre-mined coins or ICO's) and we both know there's a lot of coins that offer the same services. Besides, it just like others smart contract/DAPP offer project trying to take the number spot from ETH.

Mind you, the community support Monero than the coin in subject and my advice to OP is to always check the concept of a project and the others project which are already in the field before investing.

All coins can drop in value like bitcoin, no coin is excluded to this, and the coin dropping in value doesn't mean it's scam, developers have the rights to sell their own coin because they own it, and mostly developers vest their coins for a year or two.

Unfortunately, just like most coins, the continuous downward trend in the market has led to it being labeled as a scam, I still think it has a lot of potentials to recover and do another upward trend.
