I don’t think tagging a price to BTC is considered as traitor. We will need a price to know what is the value of BTC, just like gold or any assets.

If you bought using fiat then it is natural to compare up to date price of bitcoin with fiat to see profit or loss.

I dont think that there is any problem with that, we all think about fiat money when we want to sell because that is the only that we can use to buy/sell stuff at the moment.
If bitcoin gets implemented on the society the terms that you are talking about could be easily implemented.

When I think of one Bitcoin... that is ALL I think about!
To think any further is traitorous.
i.e. Bob says " well, if Bitcoin hits $10,000 US, I'm gonna sell some and buy a new car "

It's unacceptable to think in terms of fiat.
Show some loyalty, and when you talk about Bitcoin, that should be it.

example. Bill says " I have 2 Bitcoins. Gonna buy some burgers now. "

For Bitcoin to have value to be used as a currency, which seems to be the crux of your argument, it has to have value. Where does that valuation come from?
What is the currency widely held as the world currency for lack of a better term?

Why would it be traitorous? Bitcoin's value is dictated by USD. That's a fact. You can believe in Bitcoin and still look at it in terms of USD. That's how it's going to be for as long as Bitcoin remains an alternative means of payment. You can't gauge its value otherwise.

But hey, if you're willing to buy a burger for 2 Bitcoins, I have a few I'd like to sell you.

I just realized that my thread is pointless. I should delete it, but I will keep it here as a lesson to future posters.

It is pointless--and you can't delete it, but you should lock it.

Shit is priced in fiat, including bitcoin. You're a blind zealot if you don't see that, not some dick-waving bitcoin superfan or whatever it is you're trying to come off as.

As Warren Buffet explained BTC is not a currency.

He says u do a deal it's not based on BTC, since the price is so volatile.

You say okay X dollars or X barrels of oil.

If you say X Bitcoins it changes every minute, a real currency or commodity stands on its own merits, BTC is based solely on USD value or other currency values, it's not a currency, to educated business men the statement BTC is a currency makes them laugh at you.

So you're right, everyone looks at crypto through the lense of Fiat.

Now new crypto is looked at in relation to BTC.

Good point even if it was sarcastic.

We're not traitors, but we compare bitcoin to the money we use daily, because it is how we valuate goods. The day everything will be priced in Bitcoins we won't talk with usd or € anymore.

I wouldn't call them traitors because mostly anything in the world can be bartered for another item.

Come on, now. Only the earliest adopters can ever have claimed to think of it that way. And when people first started putting a value to it, of course they assigned a fiat value. You want to say burgers, pizza? The very first dollar value was assigned based on the electricity cost to generate it, and perhaps this is one of the underlying factors that continues to determine prices, at least when miners generate new coins and put it on the market.

Of course I agree that mere price speculation is harmful to Bitcoin, but I would suppose we can't live without the market. It is perfectly acceptable to think in terms of fiat - for now. Perhaps one day people will think of fiat in terms of Bitcoin, but that day is far away and needs maturity.

P.S. If Bob wants some burgers for a couple of Bitcoins, hit me up. I'll throw in some drinks too. A week's supply since I'm generous.
