This is not a good idea. Phones are dangling very quickly and mining is not enough.

Mining on a phone is IMO a surefire way to wreck it.

Indeed, ico is the greatest scam to date, tulips anyone? hehe
Indeed it is a scam. I went through a video today on youtube which said that the app which let the users to mine electroneum was not actually mining but was just a simulation and the app didn't mine actual blocks. If this were to be true then the point of the whole ICO saying that it is phone mineable just becomes goes for nothing. Don't know whether the video was fake or the ICO is a fraud one.
I am keeping my bets saying that Electroneum is a scam.

Why are people stating you cannot mine from your phone?

What about Electroneum?

The app is there, just waiting on the ICO to close.

I know digging a coin on a smartphone is still possible because the chip on the smartphone is now quite powerful but how much dig you dig, I think when you dig a coin or something Then you have enough money to pay for the replacement of the phone chip, charging power ... With the intensity you dig up the coin, I think you will let the machine run 24/24 to you phone of You will be back in a few days when there is no heat sink on the phone. To me digging a coin on a phone is a stupid thing when I consider the practicality achieved.

They benchmark your phone and pay electroneum from the theoretical power of the CPU. The actual mining is on PCs using the Cryptonight algorithm. The phone mining thing is just a gimmick for some people to feel great getting tiny amounts of Electroneum for free and is also great for marketing but has no actual purpose other than letting people try electroneum for free.

I am hardcore miner, almost all time in mining  Smiley
But to mine with phone? No thanks  Grin
Although I have a short lifetime of battery because I'm constantly reviewing exchanges and rigs  Smiley
In that case, I'm already mining over the phone  Grin

Like said above there is now way it is profitable. And you will be ruining your phone in no time.
Phones aren't made to be run like that for 24 hours , that is asking for trouble.

Well even before electroneum, there are/were apps that can let you mine on your phone. One I used when I was new in mining was NeoNeonMiner which allowed mining lots of different algo. I think I was mining Myriad on it. However none of those apps got any traction for a well known reasons. Hopefully electroneum will be different.

I have done the research on Electroneum, read the whitepaper, and vetted the team out. They are clearly not a scam. Whether they will be successful or not remains to be seen, but they have a solid business plan, and a novel approach. The mobile mining that Electroneum promises isn't dedicated to securing the blockchain, but rather it is a "mining experience" which nets a small amount of tokens, in exchange for running the app. The incentive for the company in disbursing these tokens is encouraging mass adoption of the app and the token it supports. The more people that download the app and mine the token, the more popular the token will become, and the higher the value will climb. That's the idea behind it. They aren't the first crypto-company to try to incentivize mass adoption, but they are the first one to take this specific approach, as far as I know. I understand that a lot of people have been burned by scam ICO's in the past, and people are very wary now about anything new, but please do the research before slandering a project that could be a huge success.

The real thing why would people say that mining in phone is impossible, because nothing among the coins out there are not capable with it "right now". So they are right and don't make them wrong because they are only feeding you with true facts. The difficulty is way to high to become profitable.

So let's just wait for your ICO to come out and let it bent the fact that mining would be possible. Or let it prove itself that it is a one new gimmick or what to gain investors like you that knows nothing about mining.

Let me say, we can. But profitable? Still a big question.
Maybe until someone created new coin with its own unique algo to make it profitable

yeah!  agree with this. ive been known it also a long time that you can actually mine a specifi coin on a mobile phone or any other devices as long as it has a web browser just like the ones recently in freebitco.in they open a new feature called browser mining and i tried it running on my phone for about roughly three hours but i only got  less than 100 satoshis so id say that its not really profitable mining on mobile devices.

You're about a year late since the last time it was worth buying cheap smartphones to mine with. By cheap, that's $20 or less per phone. If you started back then or earlier, it's worth keeping it running (as I do right now), but it's not worth getting started now.

Smartphone CPUs can do better in performance per watt compared to desktop CPUs. They can't compete with GPUs or ASICs, which is why smartphone coins are GPU and ASIC resistant.

Because it's just plain not profitable and 99% of the time except for projects that specifically state smartphones have an edge or something similar, desktop grade CPUs, GPUs and ASICs crush them. Besides that, your phone really isn't meant to run at 100% all the time. It's not exactly a little known fact phones have horrible heat dissipation. You're also competing with botnets with CPU power (Monero, for example).
