Look at this topic (Merit & new rank requirements).
On a 1360x768 monitor, without scrolling, all I see is information about the topic - but not the topic itself.
Of course, the chances of a topic receiving that much merits is extremely low but it really affect the "beautiful"-ness of Bitcointalk if it happens.
I'd like to suggest that a button that when clicked on, will shows those information. Or maybe just show some of the top merits giver and then a "... show more" button - in case some merit-police want to check it out.
