Roughly 48 hours remain before the competition ends!  Will anyone roll less than a 4 before then?

Here's the 4th update!  72 hours remain to place your bets, and so far you need to have a Roll Result smaller than 32 to be on the leaderboard!

Here's our third update!  Not too much movement in the last 24 hours, there's still plenty of time to win some prizes!

Here's the next update!  So far, the lowest number rolled is still a 4!  I wonder who will hit the first 0?

Nice competition will try some rolls for sure, let me ask you for a clarification: is leaderboard automated or do we have to submit our roll results to be listed on it?
It's completely automated, you don't have to submit anything.  Everyone is automatically entered and tracked on the leaderboard. Smiley
Isn't too easy? You don't need to watching each your bet and you only need to run automated bot and hunt for 0.
Why is that a problem?  It's a competition, it's supposed to be easy for people to participate.  Using a bot or manually betting doesn't matter.

If we asked people to submit their numbers we'd have literally hundreds of submissions to count and process and it would take hours to get anything done.  I really doubt anyone wants to watch thousands if not tens of thousands of their own bets.

This way people can track their progression and competition as it's updated live every few minutes.  I'm sorry, but I fail to see a downside.

Honestly I coded the automated bet tracking because I was too lazy to verify all submitted bets. Our very first "number hunt competition" required all players to manually submit their bets to a BitcoinTalk thread, but it was really painfull for me and Randall to verify the bets and select the winners manually. It was really hard to keep track of the competition.

With auto-leaderboard everyone can see the current results, see their own winning bets and it just tells us who won when the competition is over. It's a win-win :-)

Cheers and good luck,
Ethan

How does this Number Hunt work?

This competition requires you to make bets with roll results as low as possible.  The roll result is the number you roll between 0 and 999,999.  The only requirement is that your Bet Amount must be 0.00010000BTC (10,000 satoshis) or higher.  You can play on any win chance you like, and both wins and losses count!  Keep in mind, if more than one bet has the same result, the earlier one takes precedence.

The 20 bets with the lowest rolled numbers at the end of the competition win a prize!

The competition starts on Wednesday, September 20th at 6:00am CT / 11:00am UTC (right now!!) and will end on Wednesday, September 27th at 6:00am CT / 11:00am UTC, or when 20 "0" bets have been rolled.  We'll be providing daily updates here in this thread, as well as on our site leaderboard.
