It's just plain crazy.
There's a little more than 24 hours left of the competition now, and people are trying their hardest to claim the big prizes! Seemingly overnight, TiredOf has wagered more than 4,000 ETH, with emodom behind them at ~2,500 ETH wagered!

Here's our next update! Some new face have snuck their way up the leaderboard, and with 2 days left of the competition the prize pool currently sits at ~257 ETH (~94,000 USD)!
There's now a little over 72 hours left of the competition, and 1st place is gonna be tough to beat! Will anyone do it? Currently, all prizes will receive a 2200% bonus (which means multiply your prize by 23 to see what it will be!)!
The competition is crazy, it's enormously EV+ for players now - it's still cheap to get on the leaderboard and the prize is much higher than what it would cost you. All places except the 1st are EV+ now.
@dooglus, if the prize pool keeps building up you can still have profit from this competition!

We're 2 days into the competition now, and here's the next update! It looks like doog might soon have some challengers!
I was offline all day. When I got back on I saw that someone had overtaken me. It didn't last for long though. On the plus side he lost a bunch, building the prize pool for everyone.

This is the 3rd contest I have played in. I didn't win either of the first two despite trying to. So how can you "know" I'm going to win this one?
I was down over 34 ETH at one point, while the max profit per bet is around 1.5 ETH so I had to win around 20 max profit bets to recover. You think that's "low risk?

There should be something like a maximum wagering amount during the contest; i.e. you can only wager up to 100 ETH / day for the contest (ofcourse you can play further but only 100 ETH will be counted) - something like that?
The whole point of the contest is to incentivize wagering. Your artificial limits to try to cause equality of outcome are silly.
Chances shall be equal to all members - and that's probably what yolodice's devs also want to achieve.
Don't you think that if they wanted equal chances of winning for all players they would run something luck based not wager based? And then it would be overrun by bots like the low-level faucet was.
If you check his stats, you will see he has enormous wagering amounts on BTC & LTC also, but the winnings compared to this are relatively small.
My profit is positive on all 3 coins. That's due to luck and nothing else.
He just makes a small number of bets with a very little % gain in each bet. So no, he is not likely to lose since he will just fill up his balance and recover the loss if it happens.
It's not as easy as you make it sound. When the max profit per bet is 15 times your losses there's a good chance you never recover no matter how much you deposit.

It is not "supposed to let those with higher balance win". Chances shall be equal to all members - and that's probably what yolodice's devs also want to achieve.

How does this wagering competition work?
This competition started with the very first ETH bet placed (so all ETH bets placed so far DO COUNT!), and the competition will conclude in exactly 7 days; next Tuesday (April 3rd) at 1:00pm CT / 6:00pm UTC. During this time, any and all ETH wagers made by players will count towards the contest (Please note: Bitcoin and Litecoin bets do not count towards the wagered amounts for the competition - this time is ETH only!). We have a public competition leaderboard that will track the competitors until the last day. We'll be posting daily leaderboard updates here in this thread as well, so stay tuned!
