Once we are here in the forum then all I can say is that we are too lucky enough cause through this forum we can educate our self and prove to others that Bitcoin is not a scam, cause in reality some country tells that Bitcoin is a scam and we can not blame them as we all know that they don't have enough knowledge about Bitcoin that's why they  say that. But here in forum we can educate our friends, family or even some people who looked down Bitcoin.

Of course I am very lucky to be here for a long time to discuss with communities from various countries. Sharing knowledge, sharing experiences and helping myself in understanding new things is something fun, this remains unchanged although I also hope to earn from this forum.

Looks like we're in the same boat before aren't we although yours was open to investing into it. I was like "hell no" for Bitcoin before. I am not really went too deep into technology since I pretty much perceive almost every single digital asset out there to be just like another debit card without involving any sorts of banks.

Well to be fair, there are plenty side hustles that you could try such as freelancing in Upwork. I know you're talking about SCs and bounties, but they aren't really reliable unlike having to freelance where you could potentially have a long-term client that would be willing to pay you over and over again. It's not more stable than having 9-5, but if you reside in third world countries, many clients tend to pay so high.

Not only is it an honor to be able to join this forum, you are also fortunate to be part of a large family that is formed naturally here. Every member will always try to share every latest information here, you can learn a lot from this information. You can also ask questions here through active discussions every day, other members will voluntarily provide answers to add to your insight.

TBH, I might not be involved not only in cryptocurrency, but investing in general if I didn't know this forum. If this forum didn't get introduced to me, I might still be working my ass off for 8 hours out there, and earning minimum wage. No hard feelings for those users here who are earning minimum wage in their respective places, but I don't see myself working like that for a long period of time.

I'm a bit shy to say this, but cryptocurrency, and this forum itself really changed my life. Both opened me into the world of investing. I can just imagine myself if I didn't know this forum. I might not be investing currently, and still focusing on playing online games though I'm still playing, but I know how to manage my time.

There might be some toxicity, rants, criticisms, fights that are happening in this forum, but aside from that, we can also see the information that we needed to learn more about Bitcoin, and crypto in general. I see the forum as a diamond. Do I consider myself lucky to be in this forum? Super lucky.

I have read from the first sentence to the last sentence that was written by Op, but I did not find any of the words that Op wrote lead to merit. Why can you assume Op is making efforts to earn merit.

I think it's normal for members in the forum to make efforts to get merit as long as the efforts made don't violate the forum rules, merit will always be searched for by all members in the forum including you as a condition for rank up besides the amount of activity. Contributors and merit sources have their own views in assessing a post, you are not required to give merit as long as you think posts made by other users do not meet the requirements for merit.

Op keep working with new ideas as long as you exist in the forum. Believe me, there will always be generous members and merit sources who are willing to appreciate your posts if they think they deserve merit.

I came across the name bitcoin in our local forum back then but they don't post anything concerning the idea of why is it created and what its purpose so in the end, I thought most likely the same that bitcoin is just some mere investment material like any other Pyramiding scam or some Ponzi Scheme that only been there to fool their investors and will suddenly just disappear when they get what they wanted. But when I first came to this forum years ago, that's when everything cleared out for me and I am one of those people who are giving some legit advice for the investors in my community as well and guide them here if they want to know more about bitcoins.

I personally also feel very lucky to have joined this forum. I like how the discussions on this forum are going well. Simple rules such as not being able to reply outside of the topics discussed, these rules look simple but in reality have an extraordinary impact. That is to keep the discussion focused on the topic discussed. Which will result in a useful discussion and faster in solving the problems discussed.

I like how the people here keep answering every question that arises from beginners who even always ask some of the same things that are also asked by other beginners. But that's normal. Because of course every beginner always has almost the same questions when starting on this forum.

And only here we can see honest advice about investing in bitcoin and also about other things in the economic field. It's different from other places where investment advice is always accompanied by personal interests, as done by an influencer and so on.

Believe me when I say I do share this feeling. This forum is a true positive community. Of course, there is a given percentage of drama, scams and toxicity. But this percentage is way lower than any other Bitcoin-related community I happen to deal with.

I am more than lucky,and if there is any word better than lucky I will use it. This forum has exposed and broadened my knowledge on bitcoin, because I didn't understand how bitcoin works. I was thinking that bitcoin is just a normal digital currency which people are adopting because of the modernized way of it. It was when I got to the forum that I understood the reason why people are after buying bitcoin because of its potential value. I was also thinking that bitcoin was all about trading and I never knew that it is also an investment which one can gain profit from in the long run. I must say that this forum has given to me, what the physical world wouldn't be able to teach me because it is hard for one to be with so many people with high level of bitcoin knowledge at once or in a gathering. When you see people gathering today on bitcoin talks or teaching,it is either only one or two persons there is grounded on the knowledge that wants to impact it on other people,it is even hard to see a tech guy on bitcoin and you are to pay for it. But here in the forum everything is free to learn from different angles of bitcoin.

It is a huge privilege indeed, knowing that there is no form of advertisement for this forum yet here we are. Most people who found this forum without referrals did so after research. For my instance, I could have kept that thought of Bitcoin being an illegal coin only used in dark web and that was the only thing that kept me from investing into it. I don't want any sorts of trouble when I just wanted to invest to something that might give profits or even use something that don't have to involve any third party like falling in line in banks is quite hassle for me already. This whole forum corrected my misconception from that and heck I thought first that I would not even be able to access this site without any specialized browsers like Tor.

I cannot end by saying what I have gained from this forum.  This forum is very important for changing my life.  When I had no earning source I was very desperate to find such opportunities on the internet, I always scoured the internet to find such opportunities.  I found this forum through some of my friends and they told me details about this forum.  Since then I have been inspired and working on this forum till now.  So I also consider it a great privilege to have the forum.  I have joined this forum since 2017 and I have earned a lot of money from this forum, apart from earning money I have learned a lot.  I hope the lives of those who join this forum are also changed a lot.

This forum has a wealth of knowledge that one would never discover if they were not a complete member. You misunderstand what I said in my content, mate. I said you should be careful of where you post; you should try to post in the appropriate section so that your post can be merited. I later said that is what confuses some newcomers joining the forum. Some of their poems deserve to be merited, but because they didn’t post them in the section in which they were supposed to be, the forum members won’t merit their post. I’m not saying you did anything wrong; I’m just trying to enlighten you more since you asked, Is it bad to post because of merit? So I think you should try to read my content well so that you will understand what I’m trying to say.


I’m not trying to criticise you, man. I was advising you on what to do to get merit when you post on the forum. However, some senior members of the forum are not criticising newcomers just like that but rather to correct their mistakes by telling them what they did was wrong. Since here is beginners section, kindly let me know if I violated any of the forum rules with the post that you feel the post will not be merited. I am asking because I feel bad seeing that a posted intended to motivate new guys to take the resources of the forum seriously is referred to as merit fishing post by you and few others. Perhaps there is something I can learn from your explanation, so point out the areas I did not do well so I can improve.

It might be that I posted in the wrong section of the forum or maybe I did not use the right words, as a senior member of the forum, kindly guide me because I want to do better. Finally, you should not expect me to post like a pro seeing that I am relatively new here... this is the mistake most of you senior members are making... you raise the bar so high for newcomers and very quick to shout them down and damping their spirit. I feel this does not make for continuity and might make a lot of them to be afraid of posting or asking questions. With time, they will disappear leaving the forum for only the pro who understand everything in the forum. Remember, no one goes to where he/she is not welcomed.

This forum have saved me from financial disaster in the golden age of airdrops and bounties last 2017. I was broke and in bad debt that time and I was so desperate in looking for such opportunities in the internet.

I came back here after Bitcoin reached $10k for the first time. It was a life changing moment for me and until now I am still very thankful to be here.

NO, most of the forum members post to earn merit and when you contribute meaningful and helpful content no doubt you will get merit so I will huge you to follow the rules and regulation of the forum and merit will come naturally all you you need to do is  post what you have in meaningful way and appropriate board that suit your content because that is what affect some newcomers they don’t know where to post what they have some people will post what is suppose to be in the beginner and help section in bitcoin discussion board I think that is what is confusing some newcomers and doing that I don’t think even if your post deserves to be merited you won’t because of that so you need to be careful about that one too, if not there is nothing bad to post because of merit.
 

When we say proverb, we are not expecting that thing to be openly stated, and that is why we call it proverb. What he is saying is that those who know about the forum but don't take it seriously don't know the opportunity they have, so in my opinion, what he is saying is that people who have heard about bitcoin or have an account on the forum but are not serious about learning it don’t know that it’s a privilege to see them here, and that is why he referred to dogs. Even though I have already spoken so many times about my luck getting into this forum, I will not tire of repeating that for me, it is luck. I have been working on the net for a long time, but one day my forum, where I took the information, suddenly stopped working; there was something like an interface update. The break was supposed to last only three days. But because I felt idle, I climbed the Internet and stumbled upon this forum.

yes, we as investors must of course continue to dig up knowledge about crypto because without knowledge of course there will be a large potential for losses.

Just by reading different threads with regards to Bitcoin dump, we can easily picture out what to do in this kind of situation.  For those who have Bitcoin, holding is the best course of decision since one does not sell at a lose.  And for those who wanted to buy Bitcoin, now is the best time since the market price plummet, this is the time to buy Bitcoin at a discount.  Nothing beats buying Bitcoin at the lowest price possible.


I can't agree more.  I even think it is a blessings to know this forum and not just being lucky.  This forum keep us updated on the Crypto happening and at the same time enable us to see and know different views of each member.  This forum even explains the current update and the pros and cons through endless debates of members who have different points of view.

You're right and it's true that I think this forum is complete and perfect for beginners who want to get to know better and more about the world of cryptocurrency, in this forum beginners can not only add to the number of references they read about trading, how to invest and basic knowledge about other crypto which is more detailed, not only that but all of us are not just passive readers but we can also be active to take part in various kinds of discussions and ask what we don't understand and it's true that all of this is obtained for free.
I think this forum is a very efficient educational medium for educating someone so they are literate about developments around crypto, besides that what I like about this forum is that it allows us to find out the latest crypto news around the world. I wouldn't say I am lucky to be in this forum because anyone can register an account here and it's up to you if you create an account or not. Either way, no matter what I did when I didn't know about the forum but I would get introduced to it by my brother-in-law to this forum and I wouldn't say I am lucky but I am thankful for it that I became a forum member. Some people didn't get introduced to Bitcointalk. Some people found this forum on their own but you can say I am lucky too but In my opinion, I wouldn't say I am lucky since most of the time, I have bad luck or get in trouble situations. As others have said, yiu hav to ebllbe resourceful or find other means of learning cryptocurrency and there's other websites too where you can learn but you can never find forum as good as this. I am very thankful of it. That's why it is the most informative Bitcoin forum out there, even though your thread might be redundant, your points are correct, without this forum quite a lot of people would have lost their interest in Bitcoin and so many others would have lost the Bitcoins that they managed to acquire, overall, anyone interested has to be here to share their knowledge and garner from other users.
Not every user in the forum actually, there are some users here who panic quite a lot and spread fud, but i am pretty sure the older users who have been here for a longer time and have seen this happen in other cycles would definitely be calm and would be accumulating more right now.

In some parts of Africa, you have to think or reason to get the interpretation of a proverb because the speaker is not mandated by tradition to explain the meaning. To me, the proverb simply means that some people don't know how to use opportunity because they don't know that it is a privilege to have one. A dog is privileged to have food but he can't sit to eat.

I knew nothing about Bitcoin before I joined this forum. It will not be out of place to say that my journey in the Bitcoin ecosystem started in this forum and I have never regretted it. Bitcoin is a remarkable currency and investment and the forum has influenced me positively in different areas.

They are wise words passed down from many generations... no one know who the author is. Just like Chinese also have their proverbs that is not credited to any particular individual but to the Chinese culture in general.  Just meditate on the content of the statement and appreciate the wisdom of old.

I am glad you understood the very essence of my post.  It is actually intended to encourage  other users of this forum, especially the new guys, to take the resources of this forum seriously.

Assuming I paid good attention to this forum when I created my account in 2022, by now I would have built my Bitcoin portfolio to something magnificent using DCA that I learnt recently. Now I am struggling to build it amidst economic recession, demands from family and limited resources. There were days I made good profits when I was day trading Bitcoin, if I had known what I know now, a good percentage of those money would have been used for buying Bitcoin for long term instead of allowing the money deplete during bad trading days.
There are even other trading techniques I learnt from this forum which are useful. I will not forget the knowledge I got about bitcoin wallets and how to store my bitcoin because I was storing in exchanges before.

First of all, the capitalization of your topic is not necessarily needed, before I registered to the forum those are some of the information given to me by the person who introduced me to the forum. So I am very much careful about it. Your Proverb too is strange because those who have food to eat always know how to eat and that is called table manner. They can maintain table manner so I don't know where that of yours come from. Yes forum has all the information about bitcoin so it is easy to learn from here.

Yes the dip is the trending post in the forum and while some are angry of the dip others are happy for the dip so in all time bitcoin is favorable to people.

Not all in the forum will understand that this dip is not new or else there will be new post for every dip on crypto market. The advantage of being in the bitcoin forum is you can discuss and gain encouragement to each other to keep holding unlike those Bitcoin holders that using twitter to discuss and use as source of knowledge since twitter is full of bullshit fud from influencers.

I don’t buy during panic sell but rather I wait for the price to calm then purchase slowly to make sure that you will not purchase a falling knife. You are considered as panicking if you are buying during the actual sell off. Just watch and wait for the calm before you enter.

Tbh feels more like people of the same interest having a social hub to talk about cryptocurrencies and the alike...and am certain even if we hit the reset button I would still find the bitcointalk forum the same way I found it several years ago.

Maybe you had this picture that the forum was limited to trading when intact its a whole marketplace with all sorts of trades and skills.

I had a short moment of thinking whether I should merit or not.. and I decided to not merit.
However, while I do agree with you on merit fishing threads, we also need this kind of "this forum is really good" ones too.


I think that he should just fire his mentor and not get another.
Mentors are human and humans can make mistakes or just be greedy (charge, but not know what they're talking about or simply scam).

A change in thinking plus a good reading (and asking questions too, publicly) should do much more than any mentor.


You are on a good/better path, but you are only "touching the surface". You should go farther, especially with the knowledge. Then you can also decide better for your investments.

Got a point. Without this forum I probably knew bitcoin and crypto as a simple investment like normal stock on the market. But with the things Ive learned here and earned through different methods are undeniably the best experience for me related to crypto. Youll learn things on your own and youll remember that its not easy at first but now when someone talking about it youll just smile and nod that hey I know what their talking about.

That's right. Without this forum, my perspective on Bitcoin would've been like an ordinary person on the street. I can say that my biggest advantage is to discover this place in the earliest period. When I look at the people around me, their perspective on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies is very different than users of this forum.
There are many people who see Bitcoin only as a get-rich quick scheme or think like only gambling or the stock market. Not many people look at the technological side of things. If they had researched this, they would've adjusted their investment preferences according to that.

Yes, I'm looking forward to gaining more knowledge about Bitcoin in this forum.

No, it's no crime, and I think deep down when we post on this forum, we all like to be given merits, but I'm sick of seeing OPs saying things like:

1. I bought X amount of bitcoin and it has changed my life.
2. I convinced my grandfather/my friend/my neighbour to buy bitcoin and it has changed his life.
3. The merit system is wonderful and has made me a lot of progress.
4. This forum is wonderful.
5. <...>

Things like this, which are repeated every day on the forum, and which in many cases are simply made-up stories to gain merit. I'm not saying that you are not sincere, but there is a pattern that repeats itself too much on the forum and I'm sick of it.

You are not forced to give merits... if the post does not meet your standard, kindly ignore and move on. Post like this can actually make  Some persons gain some form of motivation to make judicious use of the forum and the resources available. By the way, is there any crime if someone post to gain merit? Besides, this is beginner's section, so you should not expect too much of classical posts from here... if you are very advanced in the forum, there is a section called serious discussion.
Just free your mind and do have a wonderful day ahead.

I'm glad to be in this forum because I have gained more knowledge about Bitcoin since I started exploring this forum. My crypto mentor told me that only whales can invest in Bitcoin, and I also see reason with him. I imagine how will I invest $50 in Bitcoin and make a good profit from it, but this forum has changed my thought on Bitcoin that it is not too late to invest in Bitcoin. What I just need to do is to buy Bitcoin and hold at a price that if it dumps will not affect my holding that much because a new all-time high is coming.

I highly respected the proverb you quoted as I have a dog and can relate to what you meant. Coming back to your topic, if you are into Bitcoin then the forum is the best resource and discussion platform. You don't need to visit any other website as we have different boards where we can find our answers get clarification to our doubts & discuss on various topic. As per the current price of Bitcoin I think rather having a panic attack we need to create a buying position on every dip. These buying position might give us good returns after halving. I am confident that after halving we would see a new ATH or multiple ATH like the last time

I consider it a huge privilege to have found this forum considering how much I have learnt within a short time of me being active here. I registered 2021 but never paid attention to this forum as I didn't see the need because I was doing short-term trading of bitcoin only thinking that is all there was to this amazing technology. Little did I know that this forum holds the answer and all information one can possibly need in regards to bitcoin and cryptocurrency; ranging from how to buy, different investment approaches,  storage, mining as well as other interesting things. Indeed, a lot of information have been revealed in various sections of this forum, and they are all available for free. In addition, members of this forum are ever willing and ready to answer any question, irrespective of how funny it may sound... they do this with joy and all you need is just ask.

The hot topic now is the Bitcoin dip in price. While a lot of people will be panicking, those in this forum understand what is going on as it is not something new. Consequently, a lot of topic have been raised so far,  all suggesting that instead of panicking,  we should buy the dip and hold... because a lot of activities are lined up that is expected to make Bitcoin see a new all time high (ATH) between 2024 to 2025. I suggest you do your research about this to see how you can take advantage of that opportunity.
