HEy Hey HEY??
Well, i think instead of making this post you should have waited for 60secs to make two consecutive searches. the only way to remove this is spending time on this forum and getting promoted to a higher membership level.

once you're out of newbie stage, which is by this tuesday (and u have to make more than 14 posts), you don't need to worry about this anymore. it's just to prevent spammers and newbs from sullying up the forum.

I think you are out of newbie stage from 30 activity which is 30 posts minimum but If you are talking about the wait time I think after 16 activity It decreases a lot but you still have to wait some time before posting or searching.

yeah you're right, that was recently changed. used to be different.. newbies had to post in the newbies section only.

Waiting is not a problem. When users search, if the search produces good search results, there is no need to search again. The current problem is search giving irrelevant results, that's why we want to search again. I have tried refining my search keywords on the search function many times and it did not help. So, my solution is to use google.

it's important to avoid excessive stress on the servers etc... You can only Wait for a minute and a half (it shouldn't be that long lol), Later when you are a jr (or at least when you are at about 20 activity) There would be strict restrictions "30-60 seconds or so".

You may search the forum using google if this is an inconvenience to you.

I've had to do that for unrelated reasons. Sometimes when I use the site's search, it will come up with 0 results, regardless as to what I try to search for. Other times it will show results that aren't even related to the query. It's almost like it caches results sometimes and that throws it off.

Yes, the search function on this forum yields nothing useful anyway. Use google to search this forum is much better. Enter your search keywords followed by "site:bitcointalk.org"

Indeed, for some reason it often shows results from irrelevant posts made months ago, when there are recent relevant threads that it could link to instead.
