It depends upon your financial status, i purchased the coins when i entered the market after the first rally and then made a decent profit in the last rally and then i started a small business and it was not that successful and now the lock down and it looks like i will not be able to continue like this, so it is not that easy like we think and anything can happen in between even if you were able to make a good profit. Anyone who invested during those time and made profits will have similar stories.

lol thats unique man . while everyone else is thinking buying btc or digital currency while you here are aiming for physical version of crypto or collectibles . if you are a collector you will find it rare too find those physical coins now because they can only be limited so your chance to own them would be traveling on the past but that was sound too impossible . never see a legit time machine or time traveller but all that i see on videos are said to be fake and edited only .

You are right, if you bought btc when it was $5k which was only recently, you should have been enjoying your profits now. And also, if you will buy now, more than likely you will gain profits in the coming days, even before the halving. So act now and not regret again in the future. Just saying here for those who are still dreaming of that 2013 and 2017 scenarios. Don't be stuck in those timelines. Move and act forward.

I remember that moment. Not just XVG, but almost all low price coin has increased in that year. But unfortunately, not all people have those coin, so only a few people could get the biggest profit from XVG.

After the altcoin increases, bitcoin get a chance to increase higher. And at the end of 2017, bitcoin price can reach the very highest price, so people make a double profit which is the biggest profit they can get in that year.

So I think we don't have to travel in 2013 because I believe the cycle will be back in the future, and if the market cannot rise again in this year or next year, we can see it in the next 2 or 3 years. You can prepare yourself to have so many altcoins, especially underestimate coins, because that coin will be the potential coin to increase higher in the future.

I know this is some stupid fantasy thing but it really is interesting. Time travelling will cause you to create an alternative timeline where things will be quite different. Even if an alternative timeline isn't created, altering anything in the past will cause significant change in the future. The current price of bitcoin is as it is now because of the events that have taken place in the past. Now if you time travel and buy all those bitcoins, you will be stopping those "important" event that was supposed to take place thus causing an unexpected change of the present.

If you would go back in time why not make it back to when Bitcoin was first created and made a transaction back in 2009.
But if I could ever go back and buy some Bitcoin I would hold it till December of 2017 where it hits it's ATH and wait till January or Feb of 2019 to buy back again.

Many things I can do if I go back to the year 2013, especially my savings to buy Bitcoins in bulk. And at 2017 when the crypto market succeeds, we can make a lot of money from Bitcoin. But this is certainly just a dream because time cannot be played back.

Now the most important thing is to trade and rejoin the Bounty campaign. 2017 season I think will come back, but the process will be longer and we have to be patient.

Probably seen this post in various forms before and hey, who hasn't fantasised about being the guy who bought pizza for Laszlo? You are not alone as majority of cryptocurrency holder then sold their coins before then, I believe that majority of people that benefitted more from that last All time high were even people that bought their coin a year before then, probably around $1000, I doubt if we had anyone in the past that bought from 2009 to 2011 still have their coin enter the market till that 2017.

Majority of those people already sold everything, except maybe the story of one or few people that we heard that forgot they ever had cryptocurrency and then when the hype was quite high then, they started running to check where they had kept their coins and keys which they saw and found out how much their coin had turned to, but I am sure if they had remember their bitcoin before the hype, they would have sold it already. I didn’t buy bitcoin that 2013, but I still bought around 2015 and made my money in 2017.

I am tired of these useless threads about time machine and all. Some of the users here in Bitcoin want to live in a world of dreams and fantasies and don't want to live in the real world. There is no point in discussing about something, that is never going to happen. If you want to get rich, then work hard and learn new skills. There is no substitute for that.

And it is quite strange that you took 2013 as the base year. That was when I purchased my first coins. In case you have a time machine with you (no matter how ridiculous it sounds), what prevents you from traveling to 2008 and publishing the Bitcoin whitepaper even before Satoshi Nakamoto? Well, if you could travel in time you could buy a winning lottery ticket, then with that invest in crypto and just hold them. wait until the end of 2017 when btc was at $20k and sell them on that point, that would be the secure bet. There's so much more you could do if you went back to 2013. You wouldn't have to buy Bitcoin. You could win the lottery or do some sports betting. You could even bet everything knowing who the next US president will be.

I'd spend my time wisely and make sure me and my family members don't make the mistakes they did in the following years. Making money on Bitcoin wouldn't be my priority.

Guys, these statements already sound very funny. When I came to bitcointalk a few years ago, I constantly came across such topics where people expressed their unrealizable dreams regarding time travel and buying Bitcoin back in 2009.

Only if, someone could actually time travel back in the days where Bitcoin was too cheap that no one could ever imagine what was the price of it the future. I would literally buy as much as i can if i could time travel, who would have thought that i was from the future. lol

Time machine will take away the memories that we had at the present, so surely users who mention that they'll spend all on bitcoin will have the same mind. Past is always a past, and thinking of that doesn't gonna get us anything. Good is to use the chances available, those who missed those days of 2013 could've used the present year beginning. But none could've invested fearing that the price might go much low to $3000.

the only thing that comes to my mind when i read this question is that back in 2013 the same question was asked maybe by you or someone like you with the only difference being it was asking about time machine to 2010. and before you know it someone else is going to ask the same question in 2020 about going back to 2018!
maybe it is time to stop thinking about changing the past and doing the impossible and think about how you are losing the opportunity to get in right NOW without needing a time machine.

Hindsight is always 20/20 and I doubt that you will have the same opinion if you just discovered Bitcoin for the first time way back 2013. For the latecomers and newcomers in the crypto industry this is a big “what if” for us. What if we are one of the few persons who have bought Bitcoin at one of its lowest points. Just thinking about it now seems like we just missed an opportunity of a lifetime but the truth is did we even consider buying Bitcoin during 2013? Majority of us didn't even know what Bitcoin is so I think it's safe to say that we didn't even have that opportunity in the first place.

You could have simply asked what would you do if you had a time machine. This topic has been previously asked on this board and repeating it is a complete waste of time.

It's actually a funny paradox because one can become the richest person in the world if one travels back in time, but to spend money even on detailed research on the possibility of the time machine one kind of already needs to be among the richest people in the world Grin

Seriously, though, 2013 was a great time, but we keep forgetting that it did not seem great back then, which means that now is probably also a great time to invest, but we are just being greedy, looking to the way things used to cost and missing the opportunity.

There can be chaos in the market if all of our wishes to go back to the year 2013 and get all the Bitcoin that we can buy. Unfortunately, 2013 was the year where my country got hit by one of the strongest typhoon in many decades so it can be both an exciting and fearful travel. Right now, we can only dream of how many Bitcoin we can be able to bring back...all because today Bitcoin is now very valuable and there is a big chance that in 2020 there can be a big bull run (or will there be?). Now, the problem is that if there can be such a time machine...who will be the lucky people that can be given the privilege to use it...and will the owner or inventor not demand that we pay in Bitcoin first?

I will also do the same! its actually one of my goal to travel around the world and explore different culture of different countries but I will also make some time to invest my money to make sure I can get something in the future. I will also treat my family and give them what they want and provide they need, its going to be the best moment in my life but we can't turn back the time.

I reckon.

Let's move on and make those old times as a lesson that we are still on good terms and time to buy bitcoin. It would just make you feel regret and upset if you keep looking back at those times. And ask yourself what you've been probably doing all of those times.

Make your own move now and don't commit something today that you'll be asking the same question in the future.

We can't change things which already happened in past, so it's not worth to regret that you haven't bought Bitcoin back 2013 or something. Instead of thinking about past things, better focus on how to change your future. And it's never too late to buy some BTC

Why 2013 when you can travel at the time Bitcoin was just created why not 2009, they have a Bitcoin faucet back then, you can work on that Faucet as long as you can and get thousands of Bitcoin or spend $1000 and that $1000 will soon become a fortune to you, and if your time machine can go forward you can go to 2017 and sell you got from that year and live abudantly

I would not spend much in luxury, I would loan money from the bank, from the relatives, from friends, from possibly everywhere and loan from others. I would promise them better return than bank of their money they gave me. Once BTC would hit it's ATH (~$19k) I would sell them all and cashed out. I would repay all the loan and with the rest I would buy when price are down and sell when price at the pick every time.

Not to mention, I would again spend all my cash to buy BTC when the price was $3,200 few months ago.
