lets say hd 7970  (For example only)

Scrypt= ?

x11=?

x13=?

.....

How ı can learn this.

Scrypt= 700khs

x11=6MH

x13=3.5-4MH

IW

It is better to use  7970 to mine Ethereum. The speed is about 24MH/s. It is more profitable than other coins.

For you 7970 AMD card, it is better to mine Ethereum. It is relatively the best coin to mine. The profitability depends on your electricity price.

can you give me some more info on this? i thought ethereum wasn't a new-coin mining algorithm... just txns or something.

Do some research here

Can I mine with a linux desktop OS, if so, which one do you recommend? I have an AMD phenom processor with 32 GB of RAM if that makes a difference.

You can mine with a Linux desktop OS, the Unbuto will do. There is no difference if you have 4G or 32G memory.

I'm not too deeply into Linux but Ubuntu seems to be popular for miners. I had a machine running Linux Mint, worked well, too. You just need to have some knowledge regarding installing drivers and such stuff.

I would suggest to check out PIMP, a GPU mining system for Linux, might be interesting for you

Try this link: https://www.whattomine.com/

The coins keep changing based on profitability. Right now the coins on the top of my list are:

 Diamond(DMD) - Groestl
 Karmacoin(KARM) - X11
 DGC-X11(DGC) - X11
 Feathercoin(FTC) - NeoScrypt

Use sgminer or  NiceHash Miner and mine one of these coins: https://www.whattomine.com/coins

Just make sure that you stay away from SHA256 and Scrypt coins, these are dominated by ASICs

The page seem to prompt error, can you list these coins here please.
Did asked this question to our local forum and the guys and hesitant to answer. Maybe they thought I'm trolling for I'm already a Sr. member and yet still don't know which coins to mine with just GPU and the script. It must be profitable still.
