decentralization is everything
Guys, be careful with your funds if they are on the Exchange Hotbit, they scammed the CashHand Project

1 received 12 787 CHND to exchange https://explorer.cashhand.info/transaction/deb889a8e16ba1b7081479cb580d474fecf123b439cc022543d280a80dae20af
2 did not make the exchange and did not return the coins for the project nor did they exchange it for its users
3 don't answer us anymore
4 excluded our CHND / USDT pair
5 excluded the group of telegrams where we maintained contact

Hmmm

well I sent bitcoin in a couple times last weekand it got into my hotbit account fine, and bought 2 different coins there with no issue
I withdrew them to my ledger after I bought them, but had zero problems buying, or withdrawing
they seem to be legit to me

similar scam tactic from Hotbit was used on me today: they literally take your crypto hostage:

I sent some BNB to my hotbit BNB wallet, like a noob i sent it on the BSC chain, and not BNB chain.
I didn't realize that on spot, seeing my deposit taking a while while confirmed, i decided to message support.
Support says i sent it to the wrong chain. Sure, i say, can you send it back to me on the address i sent it to you?
Here is what they said : I have to prove to them with various screenshots which is okay, and i HAVE TO SEND THEM 0.2 ETH to an address zendesk sent me, and that my funds will be available from 3-6 Months from now.
This was just because i sent BNB on the BSC chain instead of BNB chain.

Use coinEX guys forget this Hotbit scammy exchange, they are just there around the corner to take your crypto hostage.

This was what the helpdesk sent me :
" Please read all following information carefully and wait patiently:
1. If any of your tokens was/were deposited mistakenly, please provide us with the following information: Your Hotbit account, the email address you registered with Hotbit,UID(the last few numbers of the invite link of your Hotbit account is your UID ) the type, address, amount, TXID(this is very important) of the token(s) you deposited by mistake, the screenshot that shows your deposit information.
2. In order to retrieve your mistakenly deposited tokens, we would have to conduct relevant operations such as extra installation or upgrade on the software of our wallet, the import and export of the private key and so on. Due to the fact that only those staff with very high authority are allowed to conduct relevant operations and that the whole process has to go through very strict risk control verification process, such operations require huge amount of time, labor cost and risk control cost. It might take three to six months to retrieve your assets. Please do be patient.
3. Due to the strict risk control verification process, you need to pay 0.2 ETH  to switch back the coins. The transerred address is 0x15F4a8BdDFAA31D61eEF90C2bA33F9E64C00e8EA and then send TXID to us so that we can check it for you. Attention please: Due to the strict risk control verification process, we can only send your assets back to your original sending address  later."

Fake volume and Pathetic Exchange.
Stay Away
This has become norm with most exchanges. They manipulate volume to attract new listings. Nobody should trade in these exchanges and eventually they will end.

Please avoid this exchange, they take all of my FTM coins and never credited to my account, they said: our exchange use ERC-20, and you send via opera network, but they never, ever inform users what network use for FTM deposits.

Avoid to loose your money.

Limited in number. Limitless in potential.
This exchange is very terrible and I have indeed lost some token for transferring to their exchange. When I contacted the support team, I was directed to deposit 3 ETH for a token that worth less that 1 ETH in total, this is just a tricky way of telling you that YOU HAVE BEEN SCAMMED.
So, this is their way to solve some issue regarding the issue, just to deposit to address that offered by the support staff. Glad never experience this while using their site because of some stupid token that work with that exchange, I eventually convert and transfer my funds out of the exchange.

This is pathetic. With all the volume that stupid exchange fakes out, it can't even provide good support. If you actually care about this amount, I'd recommend you to make some noise at Twitter and include their Twitter handle in the tweets. Moreover, reply with your case at their official channel's tweets.

Also, I'd recommend you to move this thread to the following section:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0

Kindly guide me on how to move this thread as you have suggested
Simply, you just scroll it down and look at the left corner on this thread, there is move topic and lock topic then, you can choose move topic to appropriate board as what reply above said. Anyway, thank you for having a heads up here, might be newbies now aware of this untrustworthy exchange and sorry for your loss my friend. This is solid proof and you can move it scam accusation board.

I still give Kudos to Binance Exchange and respect them a lot. Despite being hacked with over 7000 BTC, they took the responsibility and no user's fund was lost. Reverse was the case with HotBit Exchange struggling to deal with $30 worth of token from their incapability. The capital might be small, but if it is $30,000 that is how is going to get lost without any remorse. If anyone is still using their Exchange to trade, you need to be extra careful because you can lose your fund cheaply to this shady exchange. Below is what transpired and kindly digest and take necessary caution if anybody deem feet.

I have 10,000 TRAT token than I want to send to their exchange to trade for almost a month but deposit was disabled as requested by the project team as they want to update their contract address. You can only trade for almost a month and withdrawal and deposit were disabled. Just about two days ago, this address was re-opened and I logged to my account, generated a TRAT wallet address and send 10,000 TRAT token to the address. After waited for 24hrs with my wallet still showing zero token, I contacted their support and this is our conversations.

and here is there response

The conversation continues as I replied them as follows:

Dear Support,

I did not generated this address by myself. I got this address by clicking on the FUND menu, then select deposit and withdrawal, before clicking on  Deposits from the TRAT. as shown below. If there is any update in the contract address, I think users should be denied deposit until the update is completed.

In responding to this

Hi,
we have updated the new contract address according to the request of the project party.
You still deposit the old trat to your hotbit account
please see here
https://help.hotbit.io/hc/en-us/articles/360035156093-
This was updated 9hrs ago as shown in the screenshot and I have transferred to the address generated from your platform over 24hrs ago as shown from the Etherscan screenshot provided afterward. Besides, what does this update have to do with the transfer as I just click on deposit and send to the wallet address generated from your platform as shown above? There is no indication of New or old address and as a novice, I don't know what contract address is. I generated an address from your exchange and send, either old or new, it is the responsibility of the exchange to handle or warn about this or suspend any form of transaction to the token contract address until the update is completed.

For clarity sake, this screenshot below shows the time I sent the 10,000 TRAT token to the address generated from your platform and you updated 9hrs ago after the transaction has taken place. What is the concern of users about contract address if I may ask? If there is an update of the contract address of any project, how possible is deposit enabled for users to generate wallet address? Please, I think HotBit should stand and take responsibility to credit the 10000 TRAT to my account as it is clear that this mistake is not from the user of your exchange as the necessary tools to prevent this lies only in the hand of HotBit Exchange.

I just have to share this to the community that any exchange that cannot take responsibility most especially when the mistake is within their team members does not worth keeping your hard earn capital there, although, the money might be fraction but if it is huge, the same story will occur.
