you gotta ask WHY? what's in it for them if you sell.
i am not saying you should hold. i just want to raise the question that you should have been asking all along about those who create multiple throwaway accounts every day to say the same thing over and over again...

Because they are paid to do so, hired shills always pop up with their FUD when Bitcoin is going down, because the manipulators want it to go even lower to buy the bottom. Also there are many interested parties like Bcash and other altcoins and bankers who would love to see Bitcoin die, so they often use shills to spread FUD. Of course this can't kill Bitcoin, but it can scare newbies, increase volatility, and it's quite cheap to organize such attacks if you hire spammers from poor countries.

I agreed with your thinking and all what I can say - random people don't care, will you lose your money or no. Profit for themselves - only one thing about they care. And I more than sure, that creating tons of accounts for telling that bitcoin is dead and you should sell, they do it just for creating fake panic and down bitcoin's price, to buy for low price and sell later with profit.
Thought like a gambler, it is hard to get into this market. Of course, everyone wants to be rich and have high sales. But when it comes to this, it is essential to think that the community building together will be sustainable. When there is little revenue, sell clean to influence new people.

These users who spreads fud always receive some attention and when they get noticed they'll continue posting. They want everyone to suffer bring their hopes down and feel bad about their investment. Others want you to stay away from Bitcoin and invest on different things like silver or altcoins. I sometimes think they're getting paid by a whale or the government.
Nah, I doubt whales or the govt are involved in the FUD campaign we see in this forum whenever there's a big drop, they have enough power to actually spread FUD on a major scale by using sites like cnbc, cnn, or bloomberg  Tongue    and it's not like FUD threads in this forum are going to have a major impact on the market so why would they even bother to come here?

People just generally blame anything they don't agree with as FUD without regard to the merit of the argument or not. Of all the things that get labeled as "FUD" by the hivemind on these boards, maybe 5% of it is. The other 95% is just rejection and mental shut down by people who don't want anything to interrupt the get rich quick and lambo dreams people buy into when they buy Bitcoin. Ultimately, people fail to recognize that at these price levels, the easy money is long gone and nobody is going to become a Bitcoin millionaire from this point on just by buying and holding Bitcoin, at least not without significant risk that doesn't justify the risk:reward profile. But if you try to tell them that, it's FUD of course!

That is true. I've been seeing these newbie to jr accounts that throw out things like "you should sell you BTC" or "BTC is over" stuff like that. Other people who have BTC holdings believe these accounts and actually sell their coins instead of holding which contributes to more dips in the BTC price. I just skip then whenever i see these posts.

So what do you do when the bitcoin continually goes down? Do you accept losing money and wait? I will not do that, I will sell the bitcoin when possible, and when the bitcoin is at an appropriate value, I will buy it.

You don't actually hear from them when BTC and other crypto currencies are on an all time high. I think it's mkre like a bad publicity so people will sell more.

Youve got it perfect dude this is one good point of thinking ,i didnt catch this but now i come to think about why they are concern about our money and looks like they are the one who will be losing if we fail

Now its clear to me that this are only strategy to mislead us,to let us sell all our coin so they will be successful in theyre plans of bringing the price drops
right, when their plan is successful, and we regret the decision, they try to buy a lot and convince us to buy again, so they get what they want. and as a small fish, i am not with this strategy

I agree, they are just acting to deceive you. Being deceived is the cause of lack of knowledge. That's why we should be aware of this kind of tricks so that we wont be deceived by them. Lets not panic and just hold it, bitcoin price will start to rise again maybe not now but in the future it will.

Yeah, it's common sense, what's the point of worrying about other people's money and being pessimistic? In addition to spreading lies and negative forecasts, many people panic and fall into these traps, of course, that way the currency depreciate more and they buy on the down

It is all about the price value of bitcoin, because selling bitcoin today have only a  very low rate and the market price value of bitcoin as of this moment is on the lower level line that's why a lots of people are keep on holding their bitcoin for the future of multiple income and those people who sell their bitcoin today are wasting their future good income.

As the btc value decreases. You will feel negative. It's not a pleasant thing to look at your pennies every day.
The market is moving sideways so recovery is very difficult. Many have given up.

If you believe in crypto and the technology than you are a holder for long term and you hope that the markets will recover soon  Wink.
If you're a long term hodler then a recovery soon isn't what you are aiming for, because the price shouldn't really matter to you. I am exactly the same as how I was last year during the stairway to the $20,000 mark.

I knew the price would start dropping again and that the value of my coins at that point was severely exaggerated due to the ongoing hype. 1BTC at $20,000 is exactly the same as 1BTC at $6000. It's the mentality breaking people here.

People discard the fact that their Bitcoins will always be equal in number, the price can't change anything about that. Those who adopt this way of thinking will become firm hodlers. The rest will continue to struggle.

C'mon man, some people suggest opposite and to be fair they are way more than the people you mention. So does that means it's propaganda too? I can't see anything bad if some people suggest to sell bitcoins and even more, sometimes I prefer that over hold.
I think there is no need to raise a question or otherwise then raise this too: Why do we hold bitcoins when we clearly see that price falls.

I sometimes think they're getting paid by a whale or the government.

In most cases people are stupid enough to do it themselves, so they don't even need to get paid. It's like a free anti Bitcoin campaign for anyone not liking Bitcoin. That being said, the central bank of Poland was caught financially sponsoring social media celebrities to talk down on crypto in general, all to prevent people from investing in crypto. If the central bank of a country finds it necessary to sink that low, then know how afraid of crypto they are. At the end of the day, I just laugh at all these silly actions. If it even remotely worked, we wouldn't even have breached the $1000 level again. Just ignore all this and move on.

I feel the reason why they are encouraged to continue to do such is because its bringing the desired results for them. Your view is kind of related to my view concerning someone who is uncertain about whether to sell or buy. I have always maintained when people make posts about such "you should ask yourself that who will bear the gain or loss of this decision?" When you answer that, you then take such decision, only when you are ready for the outcome because surely there would be consequences which would be the determining factor as to whether a good decision or bad one was taken.

Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done about it because the market is a free one and people are free to express their opinion and as they are expressing it freely, so also are those taking the decisions either to their advantage or otherwise are doing so freely.

They did not actually care about your money but they want for  most of the people to hold their coins more than selling it because people who keep on selling their coins will only make the price to dump even more in the market.

Maybe those throw away accounts are created by long term account holders or
Other investors looking to infleuence newbies into selling and in effect manipulating
the markets for their own gain. Keeping the prices low.

Whomever they are they want to keep the markets low by creating FUD.

You have to question almost every post you see about crypto, since everyone is just out there to make money. You don't see people stopping you in the street to give you investment advice since there's no incentive for someone to do that.

By telling someone to buy a crypto, you hope they buy to increase the price of the coins you already have. By spreading FUD, you hope to drop the price- either so you can buy, or so something else you're invested in looks better in comparison.

People who want crypto to fail are obviously not invested in it, but they are invested in other things. They want to lower overall competition.

Come on man. Multiple studies claim that humans were born with the capacity for empathy and have a natural tendency to learn it. The media just paints the world in a bad light by emphasizing the negative aspects, so it's easy to assume that everyone just looks out for themselves. The bottom line though, is that people still caring about each other is the norm, while hurting each other is the outlier. These guys just don't want you to feel the pain of losing your money because they have probably felt it themselves. /s

It's just FUD lmao. I don't want to paint them all the same way, but there are some people who are in perfect position to take advantage of price drops. That likely has something to do with it.

Just thinking out loud, it's not that I am disputing what you are saying but have you also considered if this same 100s of newbie accounts are not your usual Btctalk members shitposting for some bounty campaign to increase the number of posts they have and not necessarily spreading FUD?

you are not wrong. there is a lot of different reasons for topics like that, including the shitposters who are just increasing their post number. it even is possible that some of them are thinking that way for real. but the point is how many of them do you think are legit and how many are spreading FUD or what they think is FUD? i'd say most of them are the later.

Exactly. There are many types of shitposters. And in many cases it's hard to differentiate which try to increase the post count and which are made for FUD.

However, most of the ones just repeat the last comment with different words. Or at least we see their number of posts increasing. Those can be typical shitposters, OK.
But I've seen too many doomsday posters with 1-5 posts that it makes me believe they were created for this sole purpose: FUD. I hope that at least on that part we can agree.

No, its really bothering when we gotta see so many threads on similar topics but asked in completely different fashion. It is also observed that same group of people are posting them periodically so that they can keep the pace of breaking others morality over holding the bitcoin in such lows.

Sometime I really feel that big group of investors might be playing jumbo game here to get more bitcoins with less value. As more FUD, more selling, more price drop and thus more discounts for them.  Roll Eyes

I think the boards are more or less just the manifestation of the overall sentiment in the market. When the price is rising, you get inundated with useless drivel about going to the moon and lambos. When the price is falling, you get inundated with useless drivel about losing all your investment and going broke. In either case, the quality of the posts is extremely low and 90% nonsense hype, the only difference is in what direction it is oriented (positive vs. negative) which mirrors the correct price trajectory. Nobody with enough Bitcoin to matter to the market is going to take any action based on a bunch of rankless BCT profiles posting about it, so it shouldn't credibly be viewed as the motivation of those posts.

Everyone who isn't capable of thinking with their own brain but is rather manipulated by the crowd deserves to end with a loss. Crypto Market is the harsh territory and everyone without some sustainable knowledge can easily be eaten by the sharks. Buying at higher prices and selling at lower is approved if sold because of the necessity to prevail over the certain person life obstacle which can be only crossed with the money. I am still a holder which is NOT brainwashed by the organized manipulation which has in these heavy days overloaded the market. Before even entering the market the investor should prepare her/himself for the future possible phases in the cryptomarket and also invest only that amount of the money which she/he is willing to lose. In this opposite case, the traders are cashing out with a loss because the banks are already sitting on their houses and they cannot wait any longer for a crypto breakthrough.

They must have been fishing for some support. Perhaps they themselves are unsure of their decision to sell their coins, so they just want have some comfort by convincing others to do so as well. If the others will do the same, then it would give them the sense that they have made the right decision since many others are doing it as well. Even when people just agree to them that “bitcoin is dying” etc etc, there’s a feeling of fulfillment when you are “right”. I don’t think that FUD spreading will benefit them financially. They must have made all the effort of convincing others to sell their coins just for the attention.

I think people falling for those posts are more of the problem than those posting them via new accounts. Negative publicity isn't a new thing on forum. While lurking around the posts of 2014, 15, etc, we can see members more often posted such posts when prices are down. But if recently such posts are really causing trouble in market, it means we have gathered lots of rookie investors after 2017 surge. They need to know selling Bitcoin at cheap ain't gonna dispose off Bitcoins. Number of Bitcoins will still the same, they are just giving away chance to earn profits to others at cheaper prices.
