bitcoin - the aerogel of money
The world market for commercial CP is rather small because it's, well, a "niche product", and most producers of CP are sadists who don't do it for commercial gain.

commercial CP will only ever constitiute a tiny, negligible part of the Bitcoin economy.

once the low-hanging fruit have been picked by law enforcement, CP trading is probably going to happen over extremely secretive darknets and friend-to-friend networks, where it's out of sight, out of mind, as far as politicians and mainstream media are concerned.

That's why I don't think it's going to destroy Bitcoin.

Also, there is probably tons of CP bouncing around the Tor network and that hasn't brought about its destruction.

news of drug trade do not register on most people's mind, so when bitcoin is linked to that area most people just shrug their shoulders - they just think it is something that happens to other people.

but when something is linked to underage pornography, society gets very, very emotional (whether that is appropriate, is another debate).

sooner or later, if not already, bitcoins will be used by some people in the trade and making of underage pornography. and when that happens, expect bitcoins to be attacked with overwhelming forces by governments and law enforcements and lobby groups alike.

I hear you can buy that stuff with dollars green toilet paper too.

Bitcoin will share the same problems that cash has, but at least it won't suffer under the same incompetent management. (Central banks, politicians, etc..)

Freenet is full of the stuff (unfortunately) and that the powers that be haven't yet cracked down on Freenet. Still flying below the radar? I don't think so.
