Well, getting a 2497 pizzas (lots of tummy are needed to finsih this amount lol) is lesser than ATH's 3300 but still it we can consider it a good sign. Let's be glad that the price of btc continue to rise as time goes by. What a lively moment! So I think it would be a little bit harsh for emphasizing the word "only" .

An update

Hate comments, FUD, and all other spam topics can be seen when crypto market is going down. Bigger drops just means more FUD, from topics that bitcoin goes to zero, to threads about how bitcoin is ponzi... I always thought that people who do that are paid for that, no other explanation for their hate comments. Mostly those are new accounts made just with that purpose, to open few FUD topics and they disappear after that.
We shouldn't be bothered by that, bitcoin always recover, and show to everyone how strong really is. And because its strong and keeps growing I believe we will be able to buy a lot of pizzas and Coca-Colas for just 1 btc, look how many we can buy now with that single coin, tomorrow it will be just more.

I know, for somebody this is a bad joke but this happens when there is no believe in the future. At current price i believe there is open the possibility to buy a pizza shop, or have my own italian pizza chef, that would be nice.

Bitcoin never even dropped below $5200 during the covid-19 problem. If we can remember, it was on a correction moment down before it was caught in the situation. Bitcoin is now strong at about $9,000. The increase of bitcoin at this hard times is a sign that it will keep going higher after this problem of covid-19 is over.

I hope so. The price has been going up and is almost at $9,000! Earlier this year when the pandemic started and the price dropped, some haters started throwing some of their hate comments around and saying that cryptocurrency is a scam lol. I know that they will all feel disappointed this time around, but these dumb people never learn a lesson.

A time will come when we will be able to make a purchase of 25,000 pizzas with Bitcoin, it’s going to happen, though it might take some time. I am the one of hard core believer who speculate about bitcoin to reach even 100 million dollars in next 2 or 3 decades of time. So, I am not seeing any difficulty for bitcoins to reach a level to buy 25k pizzas for one bitcoins.

The market has been quite unstable recently and a lot of people are being discouraged and I have also seen a lot of bad news. The media is fond of fueling every bad event that takes place in the Bitcoin community and they just start adding extra bad news and things that would discourage a lot of investors.

The price of Bitcoin went from $4k to over $13k and they never rushed to say anything good about Bitcoin, they kept mute, but just this little fall back in price and they have started spreading news that would discourage more investors and cause Bitcoin to keep falling. Funny set of people, they will soon be shamed when Bitcoin starts to climb to a very high price.

I wonder how long pizza last.
People could start hoarding pizzas and they rot away without good preservation. And hoarding could cause the price of pizza to go up.
Things like this would work well with foods that are healthy and abundant in supply. Food that anyone could easily produce. Producer would just safely dehydrate/dry them without losing the nutrients, make them a little more attractive or tasty, then store somewhere safe and gradually begin to sell the excess. The foods should be able to last very long.

I don't want to use dollar or gold, or similar traditional payment base. It exists many ticker between bitcoin and dollar. I choose pizza, because pizza had some history in the early phase of bitcoin network. I think, it is an opportunity to speak about the need of a money. Bitcoin was the first decentralized money - without central-bank. A step to a new kind of economy - with private "moneys" or better with "tokenized things" as a base for payments. Or mixed.

Our economy at this time has billions of tickers. Tickers for conversion-rates for different currencies, tickers for company shares, ticker for different raw-materials. We living in a world of billions tickers.
I think it would be better, not to using money, but tickers - between different goods. We have for a such reason a good IT infrastructure already.

i.e. Someone has some tokenized Milk on a payment card. She / he going to a pizzeria and buying some pizzas with some Milk-token.

Of course it is a need to have a standardized and well regulated process to tokenize something, but I study at this time this possible new kind of economy, and we started a project to solve this problem later.

Why would you use pizza as a method of comparison?
Bitcoins is not a food coupon . There are more things that you can do with the help of bitcoins 🙄😂.
Yes maybe you are trying to explain the increasing prices indirectly using some fixed ratio between bitcoins and pizza , but price fluctuates in every place every county therefore it cannot be a standard method of comparison.
You could choose something more substantial like dollars which is fixed more or so and doesn't change that much over time

The price is really going up and I’m just wondering what’s going to happen after the next Halving that will be taking place on May. The price has been increasing recently after a fall back to around $8,000 price rate.

Today the price has gone from $8,700 to over $9,100. I’m looking forward to further up movement from bitcoin. And then I can’t really wait for the month of May, I just can’t wait meehn, I hope that things happen for the better because know that there are people who are waiting for that as an opportunity to say some trash.

At the current price, I can easily get 1600-2000 pizzas (the average pizza here Coss around $5 and taking the average price of Bitcoin to be $10000) and hence I don't think it will take really long when we can get five figure pizza amounts in only one Bitcoin lol. Right now, for fun, I went to a pizzeria in my city. 32 cm pizzas, as you indicated, are not offered in any of them, they offer sizes of 35.45 and 55 cm. There is already a difference, moreover, we are not talking about weight and filling (they may vary in size or quality of products) . Therefore, the evaluation of something in pizza, well, very much for an amateur.

LOL. This idea is awesome, bitcoin per pizza is a great idea (or pizza per per bitcoin) it is actually a lot more than just a funny anecdote or whatever. This allows you to calculate both bitcoins increase but also it takes an average of what the buying power as well.

When you calculate it with dollars you are forgetting that there is an inflation and that equals to your dollar losing value over time and when your dollar loses value over time if bitcoin goes up it doesn't make any sense since it is definitely equaling the loss of value to gain of value of bitcoin. In the end when you calculate it with pizza it is a much better option and you see your power of buying and how it compares.

So Pizza is the standard value on you guys? when did it become ? I'm sure for western countries this is a thing but how about us for other the part? haha lol. But I agree pizza are being valued to bitcoin since there are old guys who used to compare it and the other just followed. I try to compare Bitcoin to a STANDARD VALUE. Maybe MILK would be better , but PIZZA has already an event in the history of Bitcoin, so I compare it to PIZZA.

Translating bitcoins into pizza is a bit silly, because everyone lives in different countries, and pizza prices can fluctuate very much, even if we take standard pepperoni or margarita as a reference. Not to mention the fact that their content or weight may also vary.

Paying for pizza with bitcoin was a long time ago. Bitcoin has moved on. Pizza has moved on.

This pizza costs $12k, and takes 72 hours to produce. Very convenient. No long awkward silence at the counter as you wait for the bitcoin block to be processed. Say goodbye to handing over your 1 bitcoin and having to suffer from millions of satoshis in loose change filling your pockets.

Why are we using Bitcoin? Instead, we should use PIZZA to replace it. I'm kidding you. I also read the article where there is a person who use his 10,000 bitcoin to buy 1 pizza. But, I know we can use our bitcoin to buy foods in some fast food chain. I think if have 10,000 bitcoin I will not use to buy any kind of stuff.

So what your saying is, that one day one  Bitcoin will cost $150.000 and then you can chose to use it buying 25.000 pizza's for around $6 each.

I think it's easier to calculate btc price by dollars and it's not interesting at all. There's a lot of indicator to find the statistical graph of progress of bitcoin and why choose pizza? You're just making things complicated.

We will see. Maybe pizza became much more expensive than it is now. For example, you would be able to buy only 10 000 pizzas but you will still have one bitcoin that has a value of 150 K+ dollars   
My lowest was 160 pizzas and about that estimation...  One is sure, it would be fantastic for all of us that have any amount of bitcoin on saving.

It depends. It's very important to replace spent Bitcoins, so as long as you do that, you won't miss out on future rises. It's not the most convenient solution, but hey, it works, and I do the same unless it concerns very small amounts. Everything above $100 I buy back, especially at current levels. I'm not going to allow my Bitcoin stack to shrink at this stage.

Calculating BTC as price for real everyday products will be an interesting thing to watch. That will give an indicator how inflation really makes progress and give Bitcoin some relation to goods. We don't have to buy it actually but only for calculation reasons.

Its because bitcoin purchasing power growing stronger. Its different with fiat money, always reduce the value by inflation. Compare USD purchasing power, bitcoin always get more goods than fiat money. It could happen in the future 1 btc= 1 lambo

I agree with the statement because it is not impossible in the future that bitcoin will reach a price that may be very high compared to the number of pizzas that can be obtained with 1 bitcoin, but to arrive at that point it is possible that there will be many corrections justified the correction but more people will be able to take advantage of this

I had xapo VISA card. I bought things - I was able to check what it cost. It was a nice list. i.e. I rent a car in Venice, and the card had more balance in USD as before I showed the whole process to the counterman, and he called the bank - what happened Then I had a car, to drive to Hungary and back. Ok, so how much would that pizza be, if you bought one when the price of a Bitcoin was $18 000+ in 2017? Also, if you took your monthly fiat budget for food and you converted it into Bitcoin, then your goal was to spend that food budget in that month. So, you had no long-term goals to hoard those coins, to get a higher price for them.

It is like saying, I am drawing $100 from my food budget today and spending it, before it's value goes down to $80 in the near future.   

And we will consider - the living environment (i.e. bees) important for us. It isn't replaceable - if it was lost.

And a Pizza in Milk (i.e. in deciliter) - should be remain aproximently the same!

I think the number in Pizza less as the number in USD. The value of 1 Bitcoin of course... USD has an inflation. Pizza (because the more people and less living environment) has a deflation agains USD.
And I think also agains bitcoin! In long run.

Now please tell me, how many pizza you may able to buy for a bitcoin ? Now, people will ask, why not $1 Billion value ? It is possible but we cannot estimate any time frame for that.

In next 30-50 years. probably people would have forgot to use the notations like BTC or mBTC as satoshi would be their easier unit to understand price levels better. Hence in 50 years of time, bitcoin may be divisible up to 15 to 20 decimals (probably one satoshi might get divided into another 8 decimals). I may sound wired, but this is the practical one and will happen.

By the way, what is the price of one "usual/common flavored" pizza in your country ?
