I think everyone in the world knows that this is the case. They can say that they're going to be 'anonymizing' my data and that there's no chance of anyone being able to link it back to me, but that obviously wouldn't be the case for these companies to make a profit. So -- yeah, here we are.

People truly do need to take a stand against this sort of behavior instead of allowing it to be the norm. Once we accept it as the norm, companies are just going to continue to steam roll us with this sort of thing. If we boycott companies who due this, and hurt their bottom line they're going to have to change.
