Are those prices also the same if you use a lot of power. (like 1-2GWH)
We're currently looking for a low elec priced place.
My .083 is for 100kw loads or higher.

About the same is our goal to get in Switzerland - when we decide to stay in this country.

Let me see

In Hong Kong, US$0.25 (the worst case) per Kwh for home use

https://www.clponline.com.hk/MyHome/CustomerService/TariffOverview/Domestic/Pages/Default.aspx

The business is Half of the sum

https://www.clponline.com.hk/MyBusiness/CustomerService/TariffOverview/GeneralServiceTariff/Pages/Default.aspx

All accessed on 1 july 2013. If your point is in Kowloon, then the price can be deduced because of nuclear plant while the Hong Kong island is not. The price is close to the price stated.

In my bill I'm only charged 4.5c per kwh but delivery adds up to another 4c per kwh.

It's currently costing me about $90 per month for 2 mining rigs totaling 4000kh/s and a window AC unit. That's $90 just for the room with the rigs in it, total LTC mined per month once cashed out is around $400, so after power I'm pulling about $310 profit per month. I keep track of the rest of the apartments electricity separately.

Below I have broken down cost for residential vs comercial small buisness rates in Alberta.

Even provided examples of locked in rates vs normal regulated rates.

In this area power is regulated along with the transmission and distribution and even local access fees. It can be almost the cost of the electricity itself.

Follow the link below.

there are no tiers on my current plan.  for the last 6mo it's been ~8c/kwh,

this is near Tyler, Tx

Natural gas prices, which dictate the market price of wholesale electricity, remain at record lows.    (well, for this area anyway)

but, there is this other plan, where the first 1500 kwh is 10.9c, next 1000kwh is 9.3c, and all kwh after that is 6.9c

then this "Large Power" plan where the minimum bill is $475, with rate of 5.14c

all the poor wind farms that cant even get their electricity on the grid
Wow which provider provided this Large power plan in TX? I wanna check the availability in Houston!

it's a coop...   wouldn't be available in any area where there is competition, I guess?

http://www.tvec.net/member-info/rates.html

note that it says .1048xxx but the last 6 months or so have actually been adjusted -2.5c because of "cheap natural gas"

after looking at 'large power' more, i think you'd have to use some extreme amts of energy to make up for those flat charges.   i was also just assuming the 2 to 2.5c reduction applied to all the other plans too, but maybe not.

there's the $20 meter reading fee, but i'd have to pay that anyway (i.e. not some extra charge from running tons of computers)

The charge is for both generation and distribution. Bill total divided by total KW used was a bit shy of $0.15/KW, but it would obviously go up with more mining since any more power used would be at $0.25/KW.

Just got my bill and I spilled into Southern California Edison's tier 3 billing so $0.25/kw  Shocked

I think that's the generation charge only for Tier 3 (I have SCE too).  If you add Delivery/Transmission and taxes you go close to $0.35 per KWh.  It sucks too that Tier 3 is only about 80 KWh because Tier 4 goes over $0.40 and Tier 5 goes past $0.50  Angry

See why I need FPGAs.....

Yup, FPGAs (and even more so the ASICs promised) will make the cost of electricity less of a factor for a period of time.

That's why there has been only relatively small increases in the hashing capacity even though a lot of FPGAs have been shipping -- the GPUs are being decommissioned in high cost (for electricity) areas.  Some GPUs are getting bought by those with low cost of electricity but you can only add so many GPUs before you need to start doing rewiring or bigger fans to remove heat, etc.

WOW that's amazing...... It seems like some places have cheap $kwh but what about hidden charges? such as: a user being charged a $385 per year grid rental....

Are any of you getting charged large fee's ontop of the kwh rate?

Not sure if were still the cheapest in the county or not. I know we had the cheapest a few years ago.

Wow... Seems complicated..... so the $385 per year is for the grid rental. We (Ontario Canada) have charges for delivery of power.... flat rate montly fee...

$16 for a pint of beer seems very expensive... I guess  it depends where you live....

ouch.. so 385 bucks a year just because they can?

Yes, although $385 is not really that much. We are amongst the most expensive countries in the world. My monthly train commute is more. A pizza + coke in a restaurant is $50. 0.5 liter of beer can costs $16 at some bars.

I don't know if it is like this in other countries. I pay one company for connection to the grid and transport of power. In Norwegian it is called "nettleie", directly translated "grid rent". And I pay another company for the electricity. The latter I can choose freely.

oh cool... do your wages coincide with what you pay for everything else?  is minimum wage like 35 cents an hour?

The minimum wage it's like $465 monthly, i'm in the $2000+ range, basic, no counting extra hours and benefits. But that isn't the end of the story, the inflation make that worth nothing.  Tongue
A good lunch it's about $25, a beer it's like $2.35...
A HD5850 cost like a minimum wage. Cry
My Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 Touring (not Evolution, it's like the 2007 Ralliart US version) cost me near $42000.  Cry Cry Cry
Also we don't have easy access to foreign exchange...

did you say $2.25 or .225 cents? per liter

Let me make the numbers again: 0.097VEB/lt. 1USD=4.3VEB. 0.097/4.3=0.0225USD. 2.25cents Wink

Also, I work for the power company and they pay me near $80 monthly as "help" to pay my power bill, there is the dam where I work: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macagua_Dam Cheesy

oh you got some nice power rates up there..... How much is gas? 25 cents a liter?
Despite being an oil country, 60% of electricity is hydropower, in the state where I live, there is four big dams totaling near 17000MW of power, all in just one river "Caroní", just google it  Grin . Gas: 2.25 cents a liter. Overall economy  Sad

Located in the Netherlands, also pretty expensive here:

During the day: $ 0.2831
During night: $ 0.2563

But last year the electricity meter was broken for 6 months, and they didn't charge me anything.
I suspected they would just take some average... but no :-D

3 tiers could be On-Peak, Mid-Peak, Off-Peak....

3 different amounts per tier.... eg .10, .07, .05

That's my guess.... I don't pay for power on my mining rigs...

That makes more sense. I thought he was just playing dumb...

three tiers i dont understand

average baout $0.10/kWh

The three you didn't "understand" were provider, which means you have no idea who you pay for your electricity; country, which means you don't know which country California is located in; and current as @, which means you don't know the last time you looked at your bill... I don't get it.  Roll Eyes

I'm taking a bit of a poll, and I'm kinda curious who pays how much per kWh and where with who? I'm kinda betting Australia is currently the dearest (or one of).  This information may be useful to anyone that wants to startup a mining Investment company.

Also, no smartarses who get free power (or who steal power from work...)   Grin
I'll add everyone's responses to this first post.

I'll start...
