Sorry but, I might have to disappoint you as my first encounter with cryptocurrency or the first cryptocurrency I ever had wasn’t bitcoin. It was the not so revered USDT. It opened me up to a whole lot of possibilities within the web and how these digital money works. It was truly amazing knowing that, this intangible or soft coins could be swapped for a fair equivalent and spent. I hope to pay with cryptocurrency directly on a purchase some day though.
When I finally got my first bitcoin, the excitement wasn’t up like before but, I knew I wasn’t exactly doing it right with the altcoins and the potentials in bitcoin. This was the game changer and I tray not from this part.

I hold my Bitcoin for like 6 months and then was this ATH in 2017, I sold some and bought a new phone for myself as well as my mum. Later on, I bought a new system for my campaign work to be easy and also spend cash on food and was like this for about two weeks. I was very happy new now it was like I just hit a lucky jackpot.
I have seen many people who sold their bitcoin to make sure that they have solved their problems, so I believe that bitcoin is good to hold but whenever you have challenges, example like money challenges what you need to do is ensure that have sort your problems out, myself I have use Bitcoin to sort out many problems even when I was in school and now I'm out of school, whenever I have money issues I make a withdraw of some bitcoin and convert to fiat currency through exchange and it really helped.

Hello,

What was your first purchase in btc that was a special event for you : it was nice, cute, exciting or great. If you hodl, will you ever spend your btc ?

If you're a dreamer, what would be your dream ?

Well I don't exactly remember the item, but it was a digital item that I bought with Bitcoin. I was basically interested in digital items and in 2016-17 era I bought so many digital items with Bitcoin. Most of those items were purchased from Digital goods board of this forum, and I must say that I enjoyed my purchases very much because they were very helpful for me in those days. After that I mostly used Bitcoin for trading purpose, and even today I use it for trading crypto-currencies.

I'm a dreamer and my dream is to have a huge home based on 2 acres land, where I could plant many beautiful flowers trees, and at the same time I can have many domestic animals. I'm a true lover of exotic animals and birds and it's my dream to have all those in my home. I know that someone might call me crazy, but it's my dream, and sharing it with my friends of the forum isn't wrong at all.

I start way back 2021, which is I just purchase Satoshi for only 20$ and every day I have additional income I buy with the consistency of course that time I didn't expect I see barely in my eyes that it can reach the price of 3k$ and I grab the chance to buy back again so I can hold for a long term of course those 20$ makes a good profit during the bull run because of the different NFT and play to earn era that could gives me more opportunities to accumulate and makes me profitable during the ATH of the bitcoin.

Now I do the same thing for this upcoming halving to grab the chance hoping to get ride with the 1 BTC in my wallet.

I don't remember what I bought using Bitcoin because it was so long ago. But I don't think it's anything special that I bought because, at that time, I kept some and sold them at $19k, the highest Bitcoin price I've ever seen. And my feeling at that time when I was able to sell it at the highest price was very happy because my profit was very high and I never imagined I would make such a big profit.

And I used the money from the profit to buy mobile phones for my parents. Yes, it was a great gift for them at the time and they were very happy to receive it and even my mother was confused about how to use it. It was a beautiful memory and will never be forgotten because I could see the smiles from my parents. I want to continue to give valuable gifts to them even though they will say that seeing me healthy makes them happy.

My dream is to have as many Bitcoins as possible, more than 10 BTC and even more than 100 BTC. It is a very difficult dream to achieve but we will see. Bitcoin has become the choice of all of us and we should keep that choice and dream. Salute for Bitcoiners.

Even if you don't have any local merchants accepting Bitcoin, there are always other ways, like buying things online or buying gift cards with btc (there used to be some services actually selling gift cards for btc with a discount, so it was actually a good deal).
If I've to buy gift cards with Bitcoin before getting to the product I want, then it's the same thing as exchanging Bitcoin to fiat to buy what I need. There's no direct purchase with that and it should be counted as a waste of time. Another thing you've to reason with me is how into Bitcoin is my country. Apart from the youth being massively embracing of cryptocurrencies by their involvement in trading activities, my country would've been one of the anti-Bitcoin countries as our political leadership isn't favourable to Bitcoin investment. In fact, our government cynically sees it as a different type of ponzi waiting to crash.

It's really not something to be proud of that till date I haven't been able to buy anything directly with Bitcoin without having to first convert it to fiat before spending. It's not because I don't want to but that's the reality of where I live. There are no Bitcoin merchants where I stay. I once dreamt of paying my rent with Bitcoin when I started here as my landlord was based abroad then. Sadly, he wasn't one of those open to trying new things.

Alternatively you could use crypto debit cards. They have the same functionality as fiat ones but are powered by your crypto holdings. Would it count as a bitcoin purchase? I don't know, but still a good option if you want to put crypto in a real life use.

In Bitcoin investment you can only purchase what you can afford to lose, when i started for cryptocurrency investment I did not start the journey with greediness i started with what I can afford to lose and what I can control, i think the first Bitcoin i purchase was a small money i purchased it and the money I got it through my local contract with small company,I was not interested to invest all my money and I cut it bit by bit until I know the value of Bitcoin, for any business or investment you don't know too well you should not involve it with full assurance

I recall purchasing a humble cup of coffee. The barista’s bemused look upon realizing I was paying with Bitcoin? Priceless.

To 'hodl' is not to bind oneself in the chains of miserliness. Rather, it's to journey through the tumultuous seas of crypto markets, eye on the long-term prize. Spend my Bitcoin? Absolutely. Just at the right time, on the right thing.

As for dreams... well, isnt competition the lifeblood of innovation? I dream of a day when Bitcoin doesnt just coexist with fiat currency, but challenges it. A world where the established financial order and the renegade cryptocurrency are in a continuous, healthy duel. Now, isnt that a promising prospect?

My entry into the cryptocurrency market was early 2018 and coincided with the end of the bull season and the beginning of the bear season. My first purchase was Btc and Eth. I thought everything would be great after purchasing cryptocurrencies but when i bought it coincided with the entry time of the bear market, the market was constantly on the decline. The market was falling every day and since i was a beginner at that time, i was selling gradually with each fall and my loss was multiplying. I thought i couldn't go on like this.

I needed to understand the dynamics of the market and i needed to reduce my loss. Investing in the cryptocurrency markets became much more enjoyable for me after hearing the word Hodl. I was able to make profits by following the market cycles and halving times and hodl. Leveraged trading was not for me and i chose the Hodl side. I'm not a dreamer here and i’m approaching the market realistically.

I don't think It really does matter, although for some people it matters most to them because it makes it more real to have purchased a real thing with Bitcoin for the first time. I know I felt happy the first day I made a purchase with Bitcoin, but I can't remember very well again because I have purchased a lot of things with Bitcoin. Apart from that, I have made a lot of archivment from my Bitcoin investment after the exchange to fiat, so I think it still adds up for me as to what benefit I have earned from Bitcoin. The question I used to ask myself is, What if there was no Bitcoin at all? That means I might not have easily archived some things I have been able to get because of Bitcoin, so whether I spent Bitcoin directly on getting those things or exchanged it for fiat, all that matters to me is that I archive something with Bitcoin.

(...) If I remember correctly, I converted nearly 0.08 BTC, and that was in 2019. Just imagine if I choose to hold it , and sold last bull run, and didn't bought a computer. I would've been richer right now, but of course we don't know the future, and TBH I don't have no regrets on it because I didn't have any computers to use at that time, and I urgently need it.

I understand, I had the same feelings about my past bitcoin purchases and had some regrets of just not stacking up and holding, especially for buying things that weren't good for me like cheap cigarettes etc.
But I came to the conclusion that it's a flawed logic, for two reasons: 1) if everyone was just holding from the start without using it, Bitcoin would have probably never taken off; 2) it's very unlikely you would have correctly identified the right time to sell anyway, i.e. in 2014 many people regretted not selling in 2013 when BTC got to $1,200, and many had thought it would never get there again.

Honestly, I can no longer remember the first purchase that I did with my first btc and that is because I was too busy for several years back then when I can't remember a lot of things. But most probably it's like a treat of myself for having some good food.

Haha 😂
My first ever, which is still my last by the way, with full payment in bitcoin is my motor bike, which I purchased last year around this time, June/July...
I must confess that it's very exciting, even until this very moment, I am still enjoying my motor bike, and each time I ride on it, my love for bitcoin increases because it gives me a sense of how valuable bitcoin really is, and it's power to turn people's financial situations around.

Wow, congratulations to you mate. This surely is a nice bike to have, you enjoy the travel and some breath of fresh air while being proud that this has been purchased with your profits made through bitcoin.

I don't remember exactly but it was some gambling game on the internet I forgot the name, when I received a small amount of almost $50 and the minimum withdrawal of bitcoins did not meet, so I have to buy bitcoins and deposit to withdraw, it's lucky then because real withdrawals are possible when later on most such forms are scams. Actually, when I realized that bitcoin really does provide financial value, I was always happy to have known it, perhaps the more rewarding memory that I have since had to sell bitcoin to pay the rent, and then it made me feel like an idiot when I saw less than a year later that money could have paid me a whole year's rent, really a lot of happy memories, but overall for me at first with bitcoin was curiosity in the internet space.

If you're a dreamer, what would be your dream ?

Over the years I made quite a few purchases with bitcoin, I bought most of my latest PC games with bitcoin and also my last PC upgrade was paid with bitcoin. In CSGO I bought and sold a lot of skins with bitcoin, but all of these purchases were nothing special. My only real special purchase with BTC  was my bicycle, which makes me happy every time I use it. Now during summer I use it almost every day and it reminds me of the good things coming from the crypto world. My dream would be to maybe one day buy my own apartment or house with bitcoins, which is a dream that is so far away right now and could take a lifetime to achieve.

It's always great (at least for me) to share some of my past experiences here in the forum that's related to Bitcoin or crypto in general. Smiley

First purchase in Bitcoin? I can't remember if there are some earlier purchases that I've did before this one, but what I remember is I built a personal computer using Bitcoin. Well, I didn't use Bitcoin to pay directly obviously, but I converted my Bitcoins just to build my first PC. If I remember correctly, I converted nearly 0.08 BTC, and that was in 2019. Just imagine if I choose to hold it , and sold last bull run, and didn't bought a computer. I would've been richer right now, but of course we don't know the future, and TBH I don't have no regrets on it because I didn't have any computers to use at that time, and I urgently need it.

What would be my dream? Hold cryptocurrencies as much as I can, profit on it as much I can, and use it to help others. I know that sounds a bit crazy, and it might took a long time, but that's my dream. Smiley

I don't think I have that kind of experience because I'm not the type of big investor who does some crazy things to invest in cryptocurrencies. in fact, I am well aware of my ability to invest, so I prefer reasonable investments, especially in certain Bitcoins and AltCoins.

However, there are indeed a number of things that are moving, especially regarding the selection of strategy coins and several other important and significant things based on past experiences, both bad and profitable. Especially if it is an investment in several altcoins where I have invested in altcoins and the results were very, very bad. This is where I learned a lot about how to choose an investment that is at least safer than just like gambling.

As far as I recall, my first Bitcoin purchase was a piece of land because we were living in a squatter area. When you live in a squatter area, you never know if you'll be forced to leave the next month because the area is being used by the government. That is what I am concerned about. That's why I got a land because it's also an investment; I'm very grateful and surprised that I can buy a land with Bitcoin income. I'm grateful to Bitcoin because it's the reason I'm where I am now.

> illegally occupy property, because f**k government, private property and capitalists.
> save tons of money from not paying rent and utilities.
> use that money to buy private land, like a true capitalist.

You sir, are a genius. Respect.

I don't want Satoshi to come out of hiding (if alive) and sell all his bitcoin in the future.
Regarding the investment plan, of course I always try to continue to accumulate as much bitcoin as I can. I just really hope that bitcoin can help me financially in my old days so I can sit quietly without a lot of financial burdens.

I don't think about how I should spend bitcoins in the future if it is an investment asset. I don't use it as currency in my country, so it's just a high value asset. But of course it's great if my country can legalize bitcoin as a means of payment, so many people will get easy transactions with it.

It's clear that bitcoin is an asset and anyone holding it bitcoin for long term that person is targeting future profit as I said before, so everyone dream in bitcoin investment is to make a profit in any investment perform with bitcoin, their is some certain things I know that people who invest in bitcoin always think of, (1) their purpose of running a long term investment with bitcoin is to make profit, for example if bitcoin price is at 11k and they purchase bitcoin in year 2011 and hold bitcoin till 2023 and the price of bitcoin appreciate triple times of what they bought that means the invest have made a surplus profit, that is why billionaires take risk for investment and get more richer, my dream in bitcoin investment is to be buying bitcoin and keeping for future profit

My first purchase of bitcoin was in 2016. That's was my first introduction to any cryptocurrency and I bought 0.03BTC which I used in a pyramid scheme that ended badly for me. I was told to bring two referrers and after getting the referrers, they both paid to me which I forwarded to my upline. The referrer they brought paid to them, one of my downlines held the fund and refused to release it to me and that was how lost half of my bitcoin and also the interest in bitcoin, because I felt bitcoin was a scam. It took me a while to realize the wide mark between bitcoin and ponzi scheme. After then, I've made some purchases and I've been hodling.

My economic situation unfortunately has not allowed me to raise enough to invest in bitcoin and the truth ........... how i would like to do it since by getting involved and getting to know this asset i realize the potential and the possibility of being able to change my life and that of people the one i love the most is why i do not lose hope i know that at some point i will opt for this great opportunity, i have had many expectations with this coin and many dreams that i did not have before or thought impossible until the moment i found out about its existence, that's why i try to cope with everything that has to do with managing my money........to achieve that goal, and as much as i can,Take risks and adapt to losses like a learner but like many for there they say..... who does not lose from time to time does not win the greatest reward........ And not to make fun of you or anything, but that's a silly goal to have. There's nothing special about having a particular number in your wallet. I'm sure you'd much prefer to have just 1 btc worth $1 mil, than 21 btc worth $10k each.
I know that not everyone will understand this but what I meant is that if I have 21 BTC, I would be among the million richest person/investor in terms of Bitcoin. That's my primary goal to achieve. However my ambitions won't stop there.
So if your goal is to get that magic number of 21, you should be rooting for Bitcoin to do bad and lose its value, because then your goal would be easier to achieve.
True, but as long as it returns to its normal value which could be quite hard and I don't root for that actually, I'm just content with Bitcoin's current price. I don't mind if it takes more time to reach that goal regardless of the price. In fact, I'm hoping for even greater value next year and that's my prediction for Bitcoin after the halving.

Unfortunately this is not just once but several times. I really regret why I didn't invest only in Bitcoin, but instead in some shit coins.

There is nothing to regret, we simply learn. If we start to regret, it can go a long way! There are people who bought loads of stuff with thousands of bitcoins 10 years ago and may be broke today...

Just straight up holding Bitcoin without putting it in use is just not it. We actually help promote the adoption of Bitcoin and Crypto-currency at large by actually making use of them. It's very smart and profitable to be hodling Bitcoin but it also has so transaction benefits that keeps it above the traditional finance.

Well my personal experience, I would say that I am not a once in a blue moon user of Bitcoin I use Bitcoin as a means of exchange regularly and I still have my reserves I am holding. A world where Bitcoin is freely used would be great.

Actually, what I was thinking while answering these questions should have been what would I buy if I didn't sell. Or at what level will I keep Bitcoin for now? These are questions that every bitcoin investor thinks about. This topic got me thinking again.

I used to make small purchases by selling bitcoin, things like a little vacation. I hope we reach our goals in the next bull.

I choose to hold my bitcoin for long due to the high volatile nature of bitcoin,it is better to use it as an asset or a store of value.

I understand this sentiment, but even those who look at Bitcoin only as an investment could use it to buy things. Sooner or later you'd want to cash in into fiat (even if just a portion of your holding), and probably use that fiat to buy different goods, so it would make more sense to buy such goods with bitcoins directly (if such option exists) rather than sending it to exchange and pay fees to convert etc. This should be cheaper and saves time + increases Bitcoin adoption, making it more valuable.

I would say, My dream is to hold at least 21 bitcoins in my wallet. For me it's a lot of money, and I hope to achieve this goal before pursuing other objectives. I know that this sum may not be really a lot for wealthier members in this forum, but it would truly be an extraordinary accomplishment to have such a great amount of BTC in my wallet.

21 btc is, at the current price >$600k, that's a lot of money even in the richest parts of the world. It's probably not enough to retire (unless moving to a country with low costs of living), but hardly anyone would describe it as "not a lot".

I choose to hold my bitcoin for long due to the high volatile nature of bitcoin,it is better to use it as an asset or a store of value. The phone I bought was given to someone as a gift and I don't have cash on me at that moment, since the phone was an urgent need. My dream is to stash up my portfolio and use some of my bitcoin for charity. Maybe we all have different purpose why we are holding our bitcoin.

Nah, I don’t remember to be honest. It was all about yes or no at the time and really came to know about it when my friends introduced me with the Bitcoin. It was that one techie who was all the time over the internet who taught about the bitcoin. Though I already knew the term bitcoin but obviously wasn’t sure about it. So if you ask me the feeling when I bought it, well I was shaky to do it because I wasn’t really sure and prepared for it. I think I would have enjoyed my first bitcoin purchase if I already had deep knowledge about it and how much importance it holds. Anyways now I am full time lover of bitcoin, got myself hardware wallet and I’m a hodler.

My actual first purchase(and a few others after that one) was nothing exciting, it was a game on Steam - from a great time when Steam used to accept Bitcoin directly. I was earning trough signature campaigns and doing various tasks here and it really helped me as I could buy stuff I couldn't afford before.

After a while, I've decided to stack up my earnings and buy something bigger and more useful, as games started to bore me. And then we get to my first physical purchase - an electric guitar and amp. I've accumulated what was then around 60 euros and after a pump in price those Bitcoins were worth 250 euros.

The total Bitcoin I've spent would be worth 6k euros when Bitcoin hit the ATH, but I didn't think that it could go much higher back then. I was wrong but again, I have no regrets and I'm glad that I've bought something I like(and I still play it today) and something my parents couldn't afford buying. I still remember how surprised and proud they were when I was home unpacking it. That's mostly why I love Bitcoin so much.

I didn't earn big money, but maybe I wouldn't ever play the guitar and to me, that is priceless.

My first Bitcoin purchase was an exciting moment for me as a newbie then. I thought of holding it for a long time which I am currently doing. Although I currently earn it as a result of my services rendered here and it does not equate to the joy and feelings I had then while purchasing my first bitcoin which was my first crypto investment then. I can boldly tell that it is yielding positively as a result of the market trend when I bought it then. I do not plan or intend to sell it anytime soonest as I had made up my mind since then to hold for a very long time and see how it goes.

I have not used bitcoins to purchase a car , a house etc but what I have used bitcoins for is to pay for services rendered to me by a friend who requested that I make the payment in bitcoins so they can by that means have some bitcoins of their own.

I am more commited to HODLing the bitcoins I have for the now than using it at every opportunity I get to make payment. I am trying to be more used to keeping bitcoins than spending it.

Bitcoin Bottom was at $15.4k
To be very honest, from your post I realized that I never used Bitcoin as a payment method. I never paid for anything using Bitcoin in my life. This might change in future though.
I have always bought Bitcoin as an investment and continue to HODL, instead of spending it by using it as a mode of payment. I have just paid for Copper Membership via BTC that also in 2021.

I think it was a video game and I regret it. This was back in 2015 when they all said BTC was dying. I ended up paying $60 for a game when Bitcoin’s value was under $200, so you guessed it - I paid around a quarter BTC on a game because I thought BTC will only continue to fall and die so why not spend it all.

I’ll always regret this decision but I can’t do anything about it other than find the transaction, print it, frame it and hang it on a wall to remind myself of how stupid I am sometimes. Lesson learned, a hard one every time I look at BTC’s price and think about how much money I could’ve had if I kept it instead of spending it.

Hello,

What was your first purchase in btc that was a special event for you : it was nice, cute, exciting or great. If you hodl, will you ever spend your btc ?

If you're a dreamer, what would be your dream ?

My first purchase was a domain and a service from Fiver back when Fiver was still accepting Bitcoin that was the time that I made up my mind that I'm going to leave Paypal and Solidtrustpay to support the usage of Bitcoin and get to know more about Bitcoin, and but not directly from my Bitcoin profit I purchase a motorbike and a small parcel of lot, I trade my profit from Bitcoin and converted it to our local currency.

Until now I still pay my bill using Bitcoin but not directly I have to convert it to my local currency as the providers do not accept Bitcoin directly.

My dream is if the coin I'm holding right now makes 10 times the profit I will buy a farm build a house there and retire there's a lot of hustle living in a city and I'm putting my trust in Bitcoin that this will happen.

Hello,

What was your first purchase in btc that was a special event for you : it was nice, cute, exciting or great.
I haven't purchased any stuff yet with the little bitcoin that I bought. This is because I am holding it and don't have plans to buy anything yet. Maybe when I join a signature campaign,I can get excited when I see that every week my wallet will increase with a specific amount of btc. I believe I will purchase something,to get the experience and feelings.

If you hodli and have reached your target, you can spend a little fraction because it wouldn't affect your investment portfolio OR you can diversify little fraction into other assets.

My dream is that when I have accumulated enough bitcoin above my targeted portfolio,I will use from fraction to buy a house for my family so that I will not forget about what I used bitcoin to achieve.

I can still remember the very reason why I got into Bitcoin and that was to join a "ponzi" type of program which of course ended up to be a scam. Now, I was then so native when I enter the world of online thinking that all the hypes and promises by famous money programs at that time will really get me so rich so quickly - of course, I paid my tuition fee and never again! Aside from that, I also bought some "red flag" type of shitcoin called as TBC or The Billion Coin - well the very name in itself can be a big discouraging factor and it ended up with all of us not getting our billions.

I was excited, the first Bitcoin purchase became successful and that money came from starving myself through my pocket money, I went through big hardships to make my crypto dream come true and a year later I started enjoying the fruit of my labor, this journey turns my soft ass into a hard ambitious ass and I am proud about everything.

The exact feeling I felt back then was I am not investing enough, I hardly have a 100$ invested in Bitcoin at that time and I was still able to make a lot with that small amount that I invested through hardship, it's a time that I can't ever forget.

I think my first purchase of Bitcoin was way back 2016. If I remember it right I got it from somebody close to me. I didn't buy it from a centralized exchange or a decentralized exchange. I gave him money; he sent the coins directly to my wallet.

I'm generally a hodler, but it doesn't mean I don't ever spend my coins. I'm a hodler because the bulk of my coins I intend to keep for a long time. But it doesn't mean I don't have a certain amount of Bitcoin to spend or convert or even trade once in a while.

I haven't sold my BTC, but I definitely will at some point. I wish I'll be able to buy a house with it, maybe even a car too, I wouldn't sell it for anything less than that.

My first purchase as I remember was some game credits, which is really unforgettable moment of my Bitcoin journey.
And yes, I hodl also and I also plan to spend my Bitcoin in the future, it depends on what will be on it. I am treating Bitcoin right now as an investment and the same time as an emergency fund.
Bitcoin also helped me to purchase my brand new laptop because but what happened here is I have savings that in Bitcoin, and that Bitcoin I converted to fiat and buy brand new laptop, because they are not accepting Bitcoin as mode of payment.

If I recall it correctly, it was an Iphone that I gifted for my daughter back then, so it has sentimental value.

And up to know, although there are new versions of Iphone, my daughter still uses it. Although I'm thinking of buying her a new phone since she graduated already, but I have to wait for the bull run though so that it will be worth it.  Grin

My first Bitcoin purchase was a really special event that I still remember even now, despite its simplicity.

I bought gems in the PUBG game for my children via bitcoin and they were very happy. I am from a banned country and I cannot buy from the game directly so I contacted an intermediary and sent bitcoin and he sent the gems to my children's account.

Yes, this may be very simple, but it is a nice memory because it is the first purchase and also because I knew practically how Bitcoin can help people in countries that are prohibited for online payments.

My first purchase in bitcoin is probably the Batman Black and White from Iron Studios, the price of bitcoin at that time was around 20k and I spent about 1/3 of what I hodl at that time to buy the figurine, pretty awesome purchase and worth the money I spent on it but not a moving purchase though, I don't think I have found an item that will move me anytime soon. My dream would probably to buy myself a 2-storey house entirely with bitcoin.

I can't remember my first purchase, but it was probably a laptop or PC, I invested on it because I have some online business going on that time. So I bought it from a website that accepts bitcoin as payment.

And then from time to time I spent it to pay my bills, like electricity, credit cards and others although I have to go to a third party to process it.

Of course everyone here is a dreamer, it could be a home, a good car etc.

My first ever purchase with Bitcoin is related to online services (VPN and stuff like that). It was really cheap compared to other options I had back then. After that though, I buy some other things like gadgets, TV, and so on. The most impactful purchase is definitely my laptop. It allows me to work more efficiently, with lower electricity consumption and allows me to venture into content creation and stuff like that.

I had charged a friend's phone plan with the maximum, 20 dollars, the equivalent of a monthly salary in his country.
20 dollars for a month as a standard salary is very low, isn't it? Hopefully, your friend will find better opportunities soon and earn a lot more than that.

It was back in 2017 when I made some money off trading shitcoins (ICOs). The first things I thought about were electronic gadgets, as I had just moved into a new house. So I did buy a home theater sound system, TV, good laptop and smartphone among others
Those old days were perfect in terms of personal development. Progress happened so fast, to an extent, that some people started wondering what I was doing for a living.  Grin

I haven't been able to keep a lot of bitcoin as an investment plan yet, not because I don't want to, but because I need to first live a comfortable life, and my family around me is doing well with the little I earn from this forum through signature campaigns. I have huge plans for bitcoin investing in the future, but for now, I'm content to see myself and my family living a more comfortable and happy life than we did previously.

Invest just what you can afford to lose, as the saying goes. It will be far better if I invest and do not return to my investments for everyday needs than if I invest and then consume from my investments on a daily basis. Amidst this, I have great plans for bitcoin investment and to hold for a long time and I’m very much hopeful that I’m going to achieve that soon.

I think I will change the name of the topic by "the optimistic topic"  Smiley

It has been a while since I earned my first bitcoin, and I have also bought a lot of lovely things that I can't get my eyes on every time I remember how I acquired them through bitcoin. As a result, I can't remember what my first bitcoin buy was. However, there is one action I performed that I am happy of, and that is being able to launch a side business for my mother with the weekly BTC payment I have been receiving. Even just thinking about it makes me happy.

We need cute stories in that corrupt world !  Smiley

Sinbad Mixer: Mix Your BTC Quickly
What was your first purchase in btc that was a special event for you : it was nice, cute, exciting or great. If you hodl, will you ever spend your btc ?
If I remember correctly, my first purchase using Bitcoin was when I bought a good laptop for work. The transaction went smoothly and I was really happy with my purchase because I needed that laptop desperately. At that time, I didn't have a job and I couldn't even afford it. It was one of the best investments I made because I needed the laptop for various tasks, both for work and for school related stuff.

If you're a dreamer, what would be your dream ?

I would say, My dream is to hold at least 21 bitcoins in my wallet. For me it's a lot of money, and I hope to achieve this goal before pursuing other objectives. I know that this sum may not be really a lot for wealthier members in this forum, but it would truly be an extraordinary accomplishment to have such a great amount of BTC in my wallet.

Probably later, I'll just open my own business related to bitcoin and crypto in general.

I can't say how much joy it brought me for my first purchase. But I have a very good memory for my special event purchase, which was the one I got myself last year as a birthday gift. I cherish it because it's the first time I've gifted myself an asset as a birthday gift and not a liability.

It's been a year now, and I'm still holding it strong. I don't actually have any plans of spending or selling it out any time soon, and I don't even have any Budget for it either for now.

But maybe I could possibly have to spend it on a special occasion. That's when the Bitcoin price might have pumped to the point where I would no longer be greedy but would take profit and spend it on something that could be remarkable for me.

That's a topic with potential, brings back some memories.

I can't remember exactly which purchase was my first, but I think it was a mining contract at bit-miner.com. Of course, purchases of some altcoins were among the first as well. There was also a website (I can't recall its name) that was selling some sorts of shares in various projects, some of them would pay dividends etc. Obviously it was all unregulated with zero protection, all based on trust.
As for physical items, if my memory is not failing me, I think it was some USB memory sticks, which I didn't really need, but just wanted to buy something with BTC and there was quite large computer equipment online store in the UK that just started accepting bitcoins.
