happy new years my beloved community no remember the dark times in the past year or a few years back ,actually exists but it's a story of the past that should be a lesson but when I'm having fun that rule disappears instantly on any gambling table ,ah the rule that should be an important point in gambling is "greed" and my luck is very slim ! my thoughts are not stable in managing it ,I think lucky you guys who can regulate the pattern of gambling in your style

No one is perfect on first try or being a noob and when you do touch up gambling without having that awareness and prepareness with it then you would really be finding it a big problem later on

and once you do experience those con's or consequences then you would really be able to realize on what are your mistakes and you would make out a promise that you wont really be doing it
again.Although you might still be doing it again but on lesser frequency since you do know the risks behind which its normal for people to make out steps due that they are
aware on how things would end up if they would tolerate it.

Generally, we have all mistakes and that's usual in gambling. There's no perfect gambling even how professional you are.

As in my case, even I do gambling for almost 2 decades, I still lose. However, what matters is, winning percentage is more dominant compared to losing stats. Try to find what gambling type you are comfortable and convenient playing with so that you do not end up in a random bet.

Actually, our gambling experience will tell us what to do next. You just have to continue no matter what.

I did not make any gambling mistake last year, this is because I have made a mistake in the past which taught me ways to manage my money. I later had to reduce my gambling activities, destroyed my credit card as I haven't been using crypto for gambling at the time until I learned how not to be addicted to gambling.

What I enjoyed this previous year is that gambling is fun, it depends on how you take it. Even if I lose this time, I am not sad, I use the amount of money I can afford to lose, this is even just less than 5% of my income, even lower at times.

I believe some of us would have made some mistakes too from one way or the other which I believe you will amend in this new year. I am wishing you all in this gambling board happy new year. Do not let us forget the rules, we should not be addicted, we should be mindful of managing our funds and use the amount we can afford to lose while gambling, we should take gambling just for fun itf it and not a business borna way to make money.

I wish us all success in this new year.
You would really able to avoid these things if you do just;

1. Spend on the amount which you can afford to lose
2. Dont get yourself greedy
3. Dont get yourself impulsive
4. Dont make it as a source of income

You wont really be wrecking out yourself or putting in big trouble if you dont really let things to happen in the first place. Gambling is for entertainment
and do go out with that border and you would be fine.

Each of us had made a mistake as a gambler, and that's likely how we mismanaged our emotion and how we haven't controlled it as we spent our funds on it.
From those mistakes, there are lessons that have been formed and we have to take it cautiously and seriously for us to remain where we are and manage ourselves correctly as we continue to gamble.

It is certain that mistakes and regrets in gambling will always be there, some even intend to stop because they realize that playing gambling is more accepting of losing than winning and the fact that they continue to play from year to year.
so there's no need to regret from year to year playing gambling, enjoy and fix mistakes that occur to be wiser and don't overdo it when playing and I have no experience or mistakes in playing gambling in 2021 because I bet with small capital and also for fun when in free time.

Happy new year gamblers, may your gambling wins in 2022 be even more enjoyable. Grin

Happy new year OP nice to see/hear your testimony
And you are right do not take much serious about gambling let your mind control yourself in gambling, don't let gambling control your Self. If that will happen then hmmp I don't think so.
And I think gambling is not just for business cause we can not sure that every day we will there's a time that our luck is over and lose big amounts.

I'm still keeping an eye on the matched bets for the start of the year. Hopefully, it can really provide a good profit. At least not as bad as 2021 which has a lot to lose. Personally, I try to prioritize the bigger bets. Moreover, facing the world cup, of course, big bets await us at the end of this year. I tried to consider the preparation. Happy new year with promising casino inspiration.

We should always learn from our mistakes and always do your best to recover, it may not be easy but of course its possible. Gambling is really addicting especially if you lose your focus, just gamble always with your free money and you can be good. Mistakes is already part of our life, we can avoid more mistakes if we learn from our experiences, just be more responsible.

I don't think I made any considerable mistake this year. I mean, I made some betting mistakes but It didn't really bother me.

Even if I lose this time, I am not sad, I use the amount of money I can afford to lose, this is even just less than 5% of my income, even lower at times.
this is how it should always be done to have a healthy gambling experience. losing money that you can't afford to lose will force you to sometimes think irrationally resulting in losing more money and making more mistakes. sadly a lot of people often make this mistake.

The most common mistake (but also a very logical one) is that people no longer stick to their strategy or management. You should try to keep a budget in mind what you use to play. If that goes wrong, then it is important to accept it and try not to freak out. Because that's when the problems really start. Borrowing money to gamble happens also a lot, and is also very dangerous especially if you lose the money.
When greeds come first, you will always fail in gambling because of too much greed. My past mistakes was also about self-control and having no budget at all, this has been a big learning experience with me and I promise to myself not to gamble that much this new year, i should be more responsible this time. Always have your gambling plan and budget, don’t be greedy.

Most of the time mistake happens with gambling when we try to recover the losses. Gambling is for fun, and this is followed by the rich people who allocate specific fund for gambling. The same mentality can't be seen among the common gamblers who find it a way to make money. This won't work everytime and the same when ends with loss the user deposit through borrowing. This borrowing doesn't help everyone retain what has been lost.
Once you borrowed a money and you think gambling or trying to gamble the amount that you loaned from someone and thinking you could get it back. You should think again because a lot of people already suffer from losses like that and most of them didn't just end up happy but instead some of them are just choosing death as an escape route if they have a bigger problem. Like taking a loan at the bank then they gamble the money and lost it instead because gambling is not a way to get your source of income.

Well, it's never smart to take a loan for gambling! I guess it's like with every other loan, don't take it if you don't have a plan how to repay it... but with gambling it's like already lost money, at least it's how I think of my deposits... when I deposit its money I know I can lose in minutes when things go wrong, and that happens!

We didn't gamble if we didn't make a mistake here and there! About gambling mistakes, we all know there are small mistakes with small losses and big mistakes with big losses, and we simply can't avoid all of them! More regular gamblers we are more often we encounter with them... of course, after making a mistake (big or small) we make a promise we will not do it like that next time, but sometimes in we get carried away... at least that happens to me! I guess it's part of the gambling thrill!

I made no gambling mistakes this year because I didn't gamble! (Trust me, I didn't!)

Kidding aside I've made a few stumbles here and there, going past my set bankroll, moving to a brand new casino since some offers were enticing, thereby making more expenses than I originally was supposed to, but hey at the very least those were done during festive seasons, like this Christmas. Nothing too big though, I tend to set my Bankroll to a level where even if I exceed it, I can still manage to afford going past it by a tad bit so that it wouldn't damage me that much.
As long as the mistakes are small and are still within some healthy boundaries there is no problem, after all we all make mistakes in all the aspects of our lives so it is to be expected that this happens with our gambling as well, fortunately for me I was able to avoid big mistakes during the previous year so I am happy about it, as such I also hope that the same tendency can be maintained by myself during 2022.

Gambling mistakes are very usual for gamblers that is, I have made a mistake once and that is I let my emotions catch up to my bets pretty much feeling Frustrated towards your losses would surely make you want to get it back fast, and as the saying goes that when emotion is high, knowledge is low and because of my emotions I have caused a some of my savings to go waste,

But that is all in the past now, for I am not letting any emotions gets into me, right now I have to to stop playing casino type of games and I am now betting on sports because I can surely control my emotions towards it even if I have lost when feeling frustrated because of multiple lost in Sportsbet you can not get back that that money because games are just limited and if there are just events that are available that is why the feeling of frustration could not end up in another bet, well I think this is a good thing because it gets to control any betting drive to continue,

So Happy New Year to all.

The start of the year with quite a more challenging bet. That's really annoying. Where we have to be more careful in managing finances in betting. You are right, that mistake made us learn more and not be in a hurry to save bets carelessly.
Happy new year, let's evaluate our bets together in the future. May luck come to us like opening a new betting sheet.

My mistakes last year is that I didn't use big money to gamble which is the reason why my money i won was very small. Many gamblers used experience to win more money from gambling and it is a stable winning they are enjoying  in the community which is difficult for me to win every day with my strategies.
From this new year, I will start using experience to gamble with big money so that I can recover all that I have lost last year. This year I will do everything possible to be counted among successful gamblers in the community.

That's different from the rest that I have read in the thread. While some are just avoid gambling, I kinda sense you regret not betting to the max. I have the same experience as well but after losing, it changes my outlook after seeing myself reading tirelessly on the kind of strategy that's appropriate for someone with just $50 only.
2022 for me wouldn't be good for just playing blackjack or dice but I will spread out to sports betting.

That is pretty much the same for me as well. Since I used to gamble a lot last year it made me learn many things.
I had committed many mistakes in the past which helped me in limiting my losses in 2021.
So it was a pretty good year for me when talking about gambling and I think the same will happen in 2022 as well.

One of my biggest mistakes last year is using the cash out button way too often. Some sportsbooks have the option to cash your ticket while the match is in progress but it comes at a slightly reduced payout depending on the current live odds. Instead of letting the bet ride until the end I sometimes pull my bet out last minute whenever the team i'm betting on is barely making improvements and then they'll suddenly get a lead to win the match. With that said i've missed a lot of potential profits and at the same time saved some losing tickets, we could say it goes both ways but i'm more curious about the amount of profit I could've gained if I didn't use the feature too often than I should've.

As for my experience last year, I feel that I was very reckless when I think about it now because I was so excited last year that I didn't care about the rules and my financial management, causing me to lose some of my valuable assets due to gambling.
but this year is different, I have now started for self-control and less ego when it comes to gambling.

Second biggest gambling error for 2021 was underestimating the tendency for athletes to take rest games where they coasted on not needing wins to qualify for playoffs. Competition for teams needing wins to become eligible for wild cards and the post season, remained fierce in the mid to late season. There were definitely a few lessons that were learned as well, regarding rest days for teams and the effect it has upon performance.

Or athletes resting because of Covid-19 health and safety protocols like what is happening in the NBA right now. I usually bet on NBA so sometimes NBA players need to take a rest at the last minute so I didn't take this into considerations or not reading enough news as to who's who in the health and safety protocols. But now before betting, I have to check first so that I have a higher percentage of winning for this year.

Maybe this year I'll correct myself, because last year I made the biggest mistake in gambling. I've shared it through a thread Be a Responsible Gambler. I shouldn't have done it, and the impact of the massive loss is still reflecting on my daily life. It looks enjoyable from the outside while making small wins, but wasn't able to overcome once losing big. So, this year I want it to be no mistake year.

My biggest gambling mistake for 2021, was not making more of an effort to include big data in my analysis. Many in fantasy sports have included big data in their picks for years now. The technology is accessible and available. There isn't much of a valid excuse not to pursue it aside from complacency and laziness.

Definitely need to make more of opportunities available, and make the obvious adaptations to get ahead. 2022 is just a number and another year.

Gambling should be fun it is something every gambler should realize, mine is not able to stop when I have to stop, this has caused me a lot of depression, I have a job the next day but I was late because I'm trying to recover all my losses, this is not right, the player should allocate what he is comfortable in losing and learn to stop there, and he should stop whether he is losing or winning because of the time allocation is already over, I'm glad that I overcome this, now I can allocate funds and time and this does me good.

It's funny to think that everyone else is trying to better theirselves, learn from their mistakes, become discipline and such while I am here trying to figure out if I could try getting my feet wet again on gambling especially in terms of options trading established by that one particular casino. LOL

Even though, I am planning to gamble once again, learning and understanding your financial capacity is probably the most important thing to consider before making such move in this space. You don't wanna mess with your mental and financial state at the start of the year!

I am happy for you, and I also hope that everyone who made mistakes in gambling will learn from their mistakes and correct it.

Gambling is fun as long as you know how to control yourself because, in the first place, gambling is entertainment, not something you do for consistent return of money, maybe some can do it but they are only a few who had an exceptional talent, majority of us will just have to pay for the expenses in return of entertainment but we should also be a responsible gambler at the same time.

Yeah, the only time that you truly make a mistake is if you come into gambling with the wrong mindset.

If you feel like that you are gambling more than you can afford to lose, or chasing losses, or anything of that nature, then that is when you know you are in deep trouble.

And this is regardless of whether you win or lose at the end of the day. If you lose, but you had fun at least, that is actually totally okay. But if you win but you chased your losses without control, that is still an issue.

Good that you have made mistakes in gambling. Hope you continue to do so this 2022 still. There are lots of mistakes that I have made but not addiction so far because  I followed the advice of the users here such as only betting on sports. But in sports betting isn't mistake-proof so I lost money too. I couldn't track but I'm sure I profit more than my loss. Hope to have fewer losses this 2022. Happy new year.

^ Definitely right, we had all mistakes in gambling in different ways nor addiction is a very common thing that could happen to us.
My gambling mistakes sometimes I don't have control of myself but it that worse to OP situation because when all my money wipeout I have quickly decided to stop and not to pursue once I have a loss. Probably most of us here are already aware of those consequences of being addicted to gambling we know how to stop it. Let us help ourselves not to become on that stage because addiction is the most tougher to recover once we are there and I hope this year 2022 we should learn from our mistakes in 2021.

I have kept my betting activities during 2021 to a minimum. It wasn't an easy year for anyone considering the pandemic, the lookdowns, and all the deaths. Since I didn't travel a lot, I didn't gamble either. The last thing I want to do is cause further harm to my family by making reckless decisions such as gambling away funds that could have been spent in a smarter way.

Stay safe out there during 2022. Don't be weak and become a victim to all kinds of addictions.

My 2021 started really good the first four months up until April,I started playing slots and won often really good amount of money but it was after April that I lost a really huge amount from my emergency fund that I use to be safe from some other crazy lock down.I sat down really sad, laid down in bed and started thinking really cold headed,I promised to myself I will never ever touch the emergency fund again and so far I did it,I kept the promise,I only played occasionally F1 sport betting and nothing more, they were once a week or once a two weeks so I found this to be good to add to myself control which I think is now really good so far.

I intend to keep this behavior on 2022 too oh and Happy New Year everyone.

Happy new year to everyone and congratulations to OP for overcoming a possible gambling addiction in the process.

It's very rare to see someone who only plays gambling for fun even if he is winning so much or losing too much money on it, because mostly if someone is winning too much, his intentions towards gambling would change, instead of playing just for fun, he would start to gamble for money instead, same to those people who are losing too much.

For the last quarter of last year, I am somehow made comeback since I won some. But overall to evaluate my gambling losses last year, I was more within breakeven and lost.
But I also agree that I did not make any gambling mistakes, especially the most mistakes I made before in the past which is chasing my losses back.

My gambling mistakes from 2021...

Setting rules...and breaking them

Casually betting on games which I have not first done some form of research,
Lazy betting.

Chasing losses, eventhough I know its not a good practice, I lost my discipline
after losing a string of games and started betting recklessly to make back

I did not make any gambling mistake last year, this is because I have made a mistake in the past which taught me ways to manage my money. I later had to reduce my gambling activities, destroyed my credit card as I haven't been using crypto for gambling at the time until I learned how not to be addicted to gambling.

Lol, same here, but I did destroyed my credit card but not because of gambling because I don't used it to gamble.

What I enjoyed this previous year is that gambling is fun, it depends on how you take it. Even if I lose this time, I am not sad, I use the amount of money I can afford to lose, this is even just less than 5% of my income, even lower at times.

Of course, it's always fun to gamble, specially if you are winning. The hardest part is that when you are in a losing streak because your mind says go and continue and try to bounce back and recover. But the other side says you need to control your self and stop.

I believe some of us would have made some mistakes too from one way or the other which I believe you will amend in this new year. I am wishing you all in this gambling board happy new year. Wish you all the best as well mate, and you are right, don't let ourselves get addicted. Have self control and really gamble money that we can afford to lose.

I guess my mistakes is not pulling the trigger early and then regretting it. So I've learn that whatever I want to bet, then I have to bet right away and not to wait anymore.

Yup, we shouldn't be addicted and hope that the new year will bring prosperity for us gamblers. Obviously, I want all gamblers to win big in 2022, so best of luck and remember not to commit the same mistakes.  Grin

So you mean you are 100% in your betting success if you didn't make any mistakes?

That was my impression, maybe I'm wrong though because I don't think that someone will not lose any games you bet not just last year.

In any case, I guess gamblers will continue to make mistakes. And that's how gamblers lose money in the first place, making that one simply but costly mistakes.

Like other posted here, I didn't do any gambling mistakes this year probably because of my past mistakes and at the same time I have no money that is intended for gambling.

Anyway, I agree with what OP said that we should not get addicted into gambling but whatever advice we say to gamblers there will be some who will continue to gamble so I think the best thing to say is that learn self control and self discipline Smiley. Well, there will be gamblers who will suffer from losing so.. learning from them will help them. Just don't take losses and gambling in general seriously so that you will not feel depressed whenever you lost. Happy New Year to all gamblers and future gamblers out there  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

First, happy new year to you. Let's a success will come to us together.

Second, I did not make a mistake in gambling last year so my gambling is okay until now.

Third, I also made a big mistake a few years ago and I do not want to remind myself of that time like that because of my own mistake and I want to forget it.

Forth, I still play gambling but with control because I do not want to make the same mistake as I did before.

Fifth, I will always want to have control when playing gambling and will be carefully spending my money and do not want to end by losing all of the money.

I hope we all can have good control, have fun in gambling, and can win some money Grin

Congratulations and a happy new year to you, remember that it's not just your mistakes that you can learn from, a wiser move would be to learn from the mistakes of others because that way you really don't have to deal with the consequences.
