Not that this is even super active anymore. But with $500 I would take that and invest it in graphics and articles to be published around the web. You should focus a lot on social media and good engaging content. The big mistake people make is buying ad spaces on a site, for a new product/service. You want engagements, not impressions. Focus on building up a brand before you scale with advertising.

Personally I would invest in stake in cryptos blogging platforms that way, the publications would be trennding, and would constantly advertise the projects.

Honestly, I don't think you'd be able to conduct a proper signature / bounty campaign with $500. Anyone that says that they'd do it for you is lying to get your money. Run a facebook ad instead.
I've read somewhere that facebook and google no longer supports ads related to cryptocurrencies. Also signature campaign itself would cost more that $500 so it is not a good idea. Also there are a lot of scammers already in the entire community so I am sure OP might have gotten lot of PM's until now asking for those $500 Grin Grin OP should rarely trust any individual with lower rank or non reputable member or instead prefer an escrow service to be safe.

There are a lot of marketing specialists who you target a specific audience and would do mass marketing amongst those targeted members. This could cost cheap but not a large amount of community can enroll over there.

Hello everyone,

We are from Cointorox. As a startup, we have quite a limited budget particularly when it comes to marketing.

We want to hear your opinions on how limited marketing budgets can be used most effectively for a startup project on this forum.

Let's say your marketing budget is only $500...

How would you run the most effective marketing campaign on this forum?

Would you say Signature Campaigns are the most effective?

Signature campaigns can be effective as a majority of peoples undergo your project details in the signature spaces of reputed members but managing a signature campaign would go more costlier then your budget so it would be better to drop that idea.

Instead you can start a bounty program with budget as $500 which would be entirely stake based so that the funds would be divided amongst the bounty hunters evenly and also bounty hunters would cover each possible social media and influencer so that a mass number of community would go through your project. You can hire someone for Email Marketing as even it has been proven as a effective mean of marketing.

I see you are trying to give some kind of banking/saving service. I guess this is very absurd service.

Pro on the crypto will never advise or use your service. They will keep their money on their own wallet.

I guess you can go for affiliate commission in your business model but it will decrease your profit but then you are paying only for successful business generated for you.

Hi r1s2q3, thank you for the suggestions. Cointorox is a comprehensive ecosystem which consists of many different platforms. Yes, we completely agree that centralization for the piggy-bank is not the best option out there. We are currently in the process of shifting towards complete decentralization of all the processes involved. One example is our Atomic Swap Wallet which is a completely decentralized cryptocurrency wallet featuring p2p coin-coin and coin-token swaps between users (utilizing atomic swap technology). Stay in touch and please let us know if you have any other feedback or suggestions!

After having experienced a disaster of a bounty campaign, yes. We know very well what to avoid.

So far, the responses are:

- signature campaigns
- ad banner auctions
- social media sharing campaigns paying for each share/retweet of posts

Thank you everyone for your input. We hope this also serves as a reference point for other startup projects on here.

The best option used by previous project owners to target the right audience was running a signature campaign for a month or more with the inclusion forum AD banner and i will advice you to do the same since the mentioned $500 was not totally the amount set by team for marketing purpose.

With $500 you can get a significantly higher ROI using influencer marketing with a platform like CoinScribble Media.

Feel free to reach out on Telegram and we can discuss your goals and options that fit those goals.

Also, we will be touching on the subject of highest ROI channels on our new podcast, Coinbound.

Thank you. We will check it out.

I would choose to pay for reviews. With that budget, a signature campaign would be short, or it would hardly attract users who post interesting things.

A review campaign could give you a better look at how your service is, the flaws and positives aspects, and possibly give more confidence for people to use. In addition, users who already use other signatures could participate.

Edit: Paying for reviews does not mean paying for a positive trust. Just pay for people to write one big text about your service in an open topic on Bitcointalk. And accept that they can write good or bad things.

$500 is a very low budget to promote anything.
You will have to either do everything yourself, rely on the fans of your project

You could write 20 different articles and then try it to get published on websites accepting guest blogging, like cryptodaily.
Build yourself your audience on social network

You could use the 500$ to pay for a decent manager and use your tokens to pay out your signature campaign participants..
-snip-
Although i must say, depending on your participants, it could do more harm than good.

If the tokens are worth something on the market, then the $500 is certainly a fair amount to pay a decent bounty manager (which will probably only last for 2 - 3 weeks though). Lots of good managers got paid around $100-$200 weekly (sig campaign manager).

I'd go with ad-banner on this forum if my budget is limited. Or probably buy an ad slot at Google, CMC, and Etherscan if I have a decent marketing budget. Bounty campaign's effectivity is difficult to measure unless you post a unique identifier for the campaign (like a tracking url).

Of course the best option to get exposure in this community is thru signature campaigns. A minimum of 4 weeks should be suffice in the beginning and see how it goes for you. However, having a $500 won't go that far though. I'm guessing a good and reputable manager is paid around $100 a week to run a campaign so obviously, your initial budget only goes to the service of campaign manager. I still have mix feelings about Facebook and Twitter though, bounty hunters could abuse it and in the end if can do more harm, just saying.

This is not a golden formula, and is basically what every token campaign does, but hey, it seems to work, and is allowed by the forum?
Seems like the cheapest way to get a lot of buzz going on.

I'd personally advise against that. I've noticed that most of the participants in campaigns like that tend to post in the more obscure sections of the forum.
Not sure if there is any decent advertising value to be gained through that. Could be wrong though, it's just a gut feeling and something I've noticed with a couple of forum members.

500$ wouldn't even last for month's worth of signature campaign here, and that campaign's duration would depend on how many participants you have and what their rank is. But if you are willing to sacrifice higher ranks joining in your campaign maybe you could have low ranking members wanting to participate it. But to be honest with you 500$ isn't really big to have a work around if you could at least bump the price higher maybe your signature campaign would have a successful run here, if not you could always resort to buying ad placements which I think will be a much more effective marketing plan for your budget.

Thank you for the inputs. We are just trying to find out the best cost-effective marketing that can be conducted by a project on this forum.

It's not that we have $500 allocated as marketing budgets on here. This is just an example case scenario.

Anyways, through the answers, we could identify that:
- Signature campaigns are effective but costly
- AD banner auctions - can be most affordable depending on the auction's status & it is highly effective
- Social Media Shares with BTC - affordable but may attract spams

cointorox, since you are just asking for this forum the options you have are very limited, and as others say $500 is not a money which can buy you marketing that can be effective for your business.

To start a signature campaign you need a good campaign manager and set of signatures, both will cost you some money. You can try to run your campaign by yourself, but in that case keep in mind that it takes a lot of time (depends on the number of participants).

Before start a signature campaign visit this threads, it will certainly help you to put things in place.

With that amount of budget i would say that even paying up campaign managers on this forum wont really be enough unless if you do start and run the campaign on your own

but basing on your approach, you dont have any idea at all so you would necessarily needed it. Signature campaign is already out of the option so i would

advise for social media like twitter and facebook yet it is way more cheaper but still you do still able to make some exposure of your project.

$500 isn't that much for a signature campaign, you'll only be able to run it for a couple of weeks max, unlesss you pay very little to participants. Paying too little attracts people who are more likely to spam, mostly in threads where people won't see their signature.

You might get lucky with buying ad space though, if you place a low bid and it gets through.

How about buying ad space on other websites? Or doing a campaign via Facebook or Adwords?

Let's first list all the marketing options avaliable on bitcointalk. These are ranked by effective, in my opinion.

1. Bounty campaigns (paid in BTC/ETH of course), these usually include twitter, facebook and other campaigns which pay around 0.5-1$ per share/retweet or post/tweet. These are decent if you have a manager who can only accept users with active and not spammy twitter accounts. Without a good manager, I'd say this is the least effective way to market on the forum.

2. Ad space on bitcointalk. Follow this link - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/advertise-on-this-forum-round-276-5137422

3. Signature campaigns.

Thank you for the great insights.

Honestly signature campaign would be good for you but with that limited budget it means your project might a get very limited exposure over a short period.

Even add banners might be a little more expensive for you since the ad spots are usually taken up through auctioning where bidders can sometimes go as high as 0.1 BTC and that only for a week.

The choice  you have now is to first create a good ANN thread then maybe with time you can try to organize a signature campaign. One step at a time.

Thank you. Yes, we are going to re-design our ANN thread and perhaps organise a signature campaign.

You have people in a signature campaign telling you to do a signature campaign. Do you think they're really that good? $1 for one RT is pretty expensive. No wonder they're telling you to do it!
