Buying in Australia blows. Bank fees are harsh. It would be great if someone could implement a low cost method of buying in down under.

I've tried a few different methods. If you can find a decent seller near you localbitcoins.com is an option.

Personally I like using Coinbase.com. They had a few hiccups early on during their beta, but seem to have figured things out. You do however have to link a bank account to them to use the service and I believe they're only available to people in the US.

Hi, I was wondering, for those of you who purchase your bitcoins (as opposed to mining them), how do YOU like to buy them? What is your favorite site/exchange/service for acquiring bitcoins?

Do you use different services if, for example, you need bitcoins quickly? Or do you just stick with one service?

Personally, I've done localbitcoins a few times and find that easy and quick, since I live in a big city with plenty of sellers. Smiley
