It is very true that some regions of the world will not be affected if there is no crypto in their economy, because the people living there are not aware of it.

What will life after the dump of fiat looks like?
What is your prospect about Bitcoin in the next century?

Neither the fiats or banks are going anywhere in the next decade or so, we're yet to achieve full global adoption and that's just the sad truth. As an enthusiast I want the best for the industry just as majority of us do but we can't achieve this by just hoping. The fiats will just be deployed digitally that's the best the government can do. Already we seen news of some countries developing their own digital currency and soon other countries will follow through as they won't be giving up power so easily.

The flats will be with us for a very long time so there won't be any need of fantasizing how life will be without them, even if that was to happen that wouldn't be in our generation or that of our children maybe the next generation. The world is going digitalized and so will currency but its centralized features will still be constant.

Both Bitcoin and fiats can coexist, then we're free to use that we have trust in more but know this, the government will keep portraying Bitcoin as the bad guy.

Once BTC reaches 100k, the market is going to expand. Many would start using it as an asset and currency as well.  Govts around, should open themselves to welcome crypto currency in their countries as a payment and we all will be seeing ATMs for BTC and for other crypto currencies as well.

Those who pile up their pocket with more BTC , will certainly earn more money.

I am new to the Bitcoin but I am having a conviction that Bitcoin is going to rule the world very soon seeing the may people are approaching Bitcoin every single day to invest in it. I may not be correct now but I know some day every nations of the world will dump the paper money and go for something better like the Blockchain world in running business  and everything.

Bitcoin and the Blockchain interface is changing the world entirely into a better cycle that will reduce stress we do undergo in bank when we need our money. The library, market, store, Fast food, transactions are now turning into digital which will help the Blockchain and the Bitcoin market to spike more than what we are seeing now.

Personally, I see bitcoin, blockchain and crypto currencies in general as God's way of liberating his people from all the oppressions and manipulations of our leaders, God has through blockchain technology removed power in the hands of our leaders and given it back to the people.
And this is why I totally believe that, be it china, america or any other country in this world, non of them can stop this revolution, blockchain and bitcoin is here to say, their banning can only affect the market for a short time, like what we recently experienced when China claimed to have banned all crypto transactions calling them illegal, bitcoin went down, but today, it's up more than over 30 percents, which shows that their ban  or any other countries ban does not really have any effect, bitcoin and crypto in general has not arrived at all.

Governments are already intervening because they are scared of what bitcoin could achieve. China banning it eight times.* The US government passing draconian and impossible-to-comply-with reporting laws.
China banning bitcoin 18 times according to this article https://www.wired.co.uk/article/china-ban-bitcoin-cryptocurrencies Governments are starting to get serious about banning bitcoin so this is the answer to what this thread is all about, bitcoin to rule the world and dumping the paper money,  it is still hard to realize if that will happen one day because other country like China are now declaring it illegal.

*Is it eight? Is it more? How can you ban something eight times? All you are doing when you ban something multiple times is proving that every time you've tried to ban it you have failed. Such is the censorship resistance of bitcoin.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/fortune.com/2021/09/27/china-bitcoin-ban-crypto-crackdown-price/amp/ It is said in this article that China is getting serious right now about banning bitcoin, no room for discussion, no gray areas.  I agree with you, Banning it multiple times clearly denotes that bitcoin has the potential to destablized the existing financial infrastracture that the governments are wary about it. The government use its power to prevent anything that is threat to their governance, how can ordinary people resist?

But the efficiency of the use of the blockchain technology might be the primary reason why governments and their central banks will embrace it.
A blockchain is only efficient when you need a distributed database. If you are going to have control centralized to a single party, such as a commercial bank's individual ledger of customer balances, or a central bank's balance sheet, or a government's accounts, then you don't need a blockchain. A standard centralized database is far more efficient in these cases.

Fiat will evolve itself. It will definitely take a lesson or two from Bitcoin's success. It might one day become a currency built on blockchain.
I doubt it will ever be based on a blockchain, or if it is, it will be a blockchain which is entirely centralized and entirely under governmental and/or central bank control. There are multiple proposals and plans for central bank digital currencies working their way through various stages of exploration, planning, legislation, etc., around the world, but they all have one thing in common - they are entirely centralized. There is no way the government or the central banks will give up the one thing that keeps them functioning and solidifies their power, which is the ability to print money and control its circulation.

Yeah, of course, of course. It is going to be centralized. That's 100% expected from the government not only because the control over money is the source of all power but because the current economic structures are highly founded upon a system in which the government has the authority over monetary decisions. Otherwise, the entire economic paradigm has to shift. But the efficiency of the use of the blockchain technology might be the primary reason why governments and their central banks will embrace it.

Fiat is much more easily manipulated. The difference is that it is the government which can manipulate fiat, which of course the government thinks is absolutely fine. But if you introduce a currency for the people that the government can't manipulate, such as bitcoin, well then the government starts to take issue with it.
Yes I agree that fiat money can be manipulated like if the government will print too much and we will have excessive money supply then hyperinflation might also occur. However fiat money became only valuable because the government says it does and people agree and recognize its value and use it as a currency. It is the same with bitcoin,  people believe it so hence the demand continues to grow but if people prefers to use bitcoin over fiat I doubt government would not intervene.

Guys, be aware that the world is ruled by politicians and not ordinary people, and what politicians do not want at all is the loss of control over all aspects of our lives.
I'm sure they don't like bitcoin for the simple reason that they have no control over it, but because of the great popularity of bitcoin in the public, they are forced to tolerate it and regulate it to some extent.
Given the obvious benefits of digital currencies, I'm sure we will see the digital euro, digital dollar, digital yuan and many other national currencies in the future.
Bitcoin will remain an alternative but I'm sure it's not realistic for bitcoin to replace these other popular world currencies, for the simple reason that politicians and bankers will never accept it.
For business people, bitcoin will always be unacceptable as a means of payment due to a lack of legal protection and central control.

It's very possible that in the near future, no fiat money will exist in our hand. Everyone will use cryptocurrency but what's that exactly? I mean which one will be used? Well, every nation won't dump fiat money. Govt will introduce centralized govt currency which will have no much advantage for people supporting bitcoin. The model will more likely be USDT or other stablecoin peg to fiat money.
Yes fiat will not be disappeared but simply be used less as digitalization will prevail completely as we have already seen after pandemic digital payments have increased as people fear to take cash to avoid touch contact and near future most of the shop's will have qr code displayed and you can pay them with btc or other crypto coins on their address or the CDBC will be issued by many government as tokens for cash which can be used to buy stuff in market as legal cash.So we can say that both fiat and crypto will be used side by side and slowly fiat will lose its importance and trust from the people. But this will still take lot of time.

Fiat money has had value so far because all other better means of exchange that were always available for people have been prohibited or restricted by the governments.

What are these kind of medium that are much better and always available to people than fiat? How come these are prohibited?
However, precious metals, while being good instruments for exchanging value because of their properties and limited supply, can hardly serve as money today because you can't send them electronically, they are heavy, poorly transportable entities. Moreover, being of physical nature, they seem easy to steal or confiscate, which is what happened when governments decided they want the gold standard no longer.

It is because the government sees so many disadvantages using gold as a standard monetary system that is why it failed.  One is what you have mentioned above, it is cumbersome to carry gold to pay for certain transactions. Gold could also be manipulated, people can hoard and it could limit the money supply.
Now we have bitcoin that possesses useful monetary properties of precious metals while being a digital currency that is out of control of governments. Bitcoin doesn't need to be coercively imposed on people nor does it need to be protected by dubious legal tender laws. People should naturally come to the conclusion that bitcoin is the best form of money we have ever had or could imagine.
But bitcoin is not widely accepted yet, some countries are already closing thier doors to this cryptos. How can ordinary people use it if the that country's government declare it is illegal?

Yes I agree. While bitcoin has been embraced and recognized as valuable as an investment and income generating currency but it still required more support from government to be declared as legal tender and will replace the fiat money.  Fiat money has value because the government  has issued it and declared as legal tender, it still can't be dump yet.

Yeah. We all can see how Bitcoin is becoming purpular rapidly everyday , everyone talks about Bitcoin and everyone who knows what Bitcoin is all wants to roll with it because they see the future in Bitcoin and they understand where Bitcoin is going. Even on how Btc is elevating it cant dump fiat because fiat is the property  of the government.

I just know everyday Bitcoin is getting more popularity I believe the volatility nature will still be constant in  the up coming year. One thing is that no one can predict about Bitcoin. But whatever I'm still waiting to see  how Bitcoin will roll in years to come.
The volatility will be part of the bitcoin price but that will not stop the price from reaching higher in the future so we should use the volatility to our benefit.
The existence of bitcoin in real life can change people's lives, especially if they can use bitcoin for their investment and only sell their bitcoin at a higher price.
If they can do that, their life will change for the better and of course, they will have more opportunities to survive.

I am not sure if Bitcoin will indeed rule the world in the future. It will become more utilized, of course, with the help of off-chain systems. It will also become more acknowledged as a digital gold and therefore an asset worth keeping. But I don't think it will reach a point in which it will totally replace fiat.

Fiat will evolve itself. It will definitely take a lesson or two from Bitcoin's success. It might one day become a currency built on blockchain. But I'm afraid it will not be completely wiped out, much less due to Bitcoin.

It would be the same as what it is in the past but the only difference is the price value of it.

And I don't think every country would abandoned the use of fiat in the future since not everyone will most likely to accept or learn how Bitcoin works. I would rather believe that Bitcoin and fiat will be working together than abandoning the other one. The government will do something if this is their worst case scenario then expect a better regulations soon.

Actually many people have had this perception that cryptocurrency especially bitcoin will rule the world, the problem is that bitcoin is not meant to take over a fiat currency or any other currency, and also bitcoin is not a ruling counsel that handle power, many people contradictory bitcoin, i can only said that bitcoin have it function, really is a currency that has influence within short time frame of it's existence, so that doesn't grant bitcoin to dominate fiat currency in name of of ruling the world, i will say it's a misconception of idealogy, because fiat is a currency which every country has it own and that doesn't mean that fiat is ruling the world.

There is no doubt that bitcoin will rule the entire word, it's just a matter of time. Bitcoin has a great capability and popularity to rule the entire world as fiat will find its way out because it will have less value. Take for instance this year 2021, if bitcoin is not strong enough to withstand all market situations it will have been completely down by now, but even as countries like China and Co are given more restrictions to their citizens, Bitcoin is still rising and will keep growing because it will rule the world.

Well, we have to expect some changes but it was unlikely to see Bitcoin will rule the world.
Fiat money will still widely use globally while Bitcoin is still a payment option. And might be possible that Bitcoin will even replace by another but not fiat. We saw that some big companies are adopting Bitcoin but this is not literally mean we are waving away to use fiat anymore. As long as not all transactions are accepting Bitcoin or any cryptocurrencies (offline transactions), we can hide the reality that fiat will still be in major use.

Even with LN you have to open channels in the blockchan and I remember reading an explanation from o_e_l_e_o some time ago pointing out that, because of this, even with LN a massive worldwide adoption couldn't be supported by the blockchain.
Here's the post in question: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.57236745

There is some good discussion on that thread regarding future developments such as Eltoo and Channel Factories in the first couple of pages before it gets derailed. My general feeling is that obviously Lightning could not support global adoption yet because of onboarding/offborading reasons, but also, it does not need to yet. There are a number of things currently in development, and I'm sure more far more to be proposed over the next 10 years, that can make opening and closing channels more efficient or less necessary. Whether or not we also need some changes to the base layer to support this is yet to be seen I guess.

I haven't seen any research that is suggesting that FIAT would be dissolved and not in use anymore. At best we can see crypto and FIAT coexisting in the same space. As for Bitcoin, I doubt we will be seeing a 'One ring to rule them all scenario' because today's crypto space is being filled with numerous coins that present a value to the consumer that Bitcoin doesn't, most importantly in the technical aspect. I think Bitcoin would not thrive the way it does if it hadn't been for other projects in crypto, and I believe it to be so in the future.

You also forget that bitcoin is a currency before anything else. And I believe that eventually we will reach mass adoption (maybe in 10 to 15 years) and by then value will be very stable creating more incentive for bitcoin to be used as a currency instead of some investment to make you rich. That means another type of increased liquidity.

It is indeed clear to me that you are sure that it is a currency before anything else (I'm just half convinced yet).

How do you think it can support a billion transactions a day or more? With LN or another second-layer solution? Even with LN you have to open channels in the blockchan and I remember reading an explanation from o_e_l_e_o some time ago pointing out that, because of this, even with LN a massive worldwide adoption couldn't be supported by the blockchain.

They will be unbelievably scarce, even if you want to buy 1 whole Bitcoin let alone
Satoshi's you wont be able to. Think about it there are just over 20,000,000
millionaires in the world so even if every single one of them wanted to own 1 whole
Bitcoin it is numerically impossible for them to do so.
This will never happen in my opinion because for starters bitcoin is already distributed among many individuals, so there won't be a handful of millionaires holding bitcoin tightly not selling or using it ever. There will always be a liquid market with increasing liquidity where anyone could go and purchase any amount of bitcoin granted they have the money to pay for it.

You also forget that bitcoin is a currency before anything else. I'm also this kind of believer about bitcoin and blockchain before but we have to realize that not every country is set to adopt bitcoin as a replacement to the usual money system that we have.

I quite agree on this, in the developed countries bitcoin has become viable currency and some merchants are now accepting it as a payment for a product or service. Bitcoin has a large user base in this rich countries but how about in the developing countries? I think only a small fraction of people knows it and have experience with it.

What is your prospect about Bitcoin in the next century?

If by chance I'm still alive by that time. It's really unknown, technology is very quick in upgrading and just like how bitcoin has taken a lot of attention from different masses. There can be another the same thing that might emerge but for now, it's sure that bitcoin is here to stay.

Century is too far to discuss, all i know that bitcoin is constantly evolving and that is good news.

Bitcoin might not be the general currency the world would use in the future because of its unstable and highly volatile nature and because bit doesn't have its own intrinsic value. But definitely a digital currency would emerge keeping aside the fiat currency that would serve as a world currency saving up the issues of exchange between currencies and making services across boarders more convenient

But to finally establish itself with the regulators, change the legislation, which is poorly developed in the field of cryptocurrencies, and also interest the majority of the population in bitcoin, it takes time.
Yes, a lot of time indeed. There are still many major issues and challenges hindering global adoption of cryptocurrency. The percentage of persons aware and conversant with cryptocurrency cannot even equate the percentage that are unaware. For the time factor, cryptocurrency has just been in existence from 2009, from then till the present (2021) is roughly just 12 years, that's too small a time frame for cryptocurrency to be able to push out the traditional fiat that has been in existence for a much longer period. IMHO, anyone who believes that cryptocurrency will quickly soon completely replace the traditional fiat is just being delusional and unrealistic. It has to gain global acceptance and adoption first. Hence, my thoughts about bitcoin in the years to come is that it will soon, Slowly but definitely be accepted and adopted by every country of the world.

Already today, bitcoin is changing the mind in such an environment as the banking environment. And also its volatility is not very scary, since its price does not fall to critical values. But to finally establish itself with the regulators, change the legislation, which is poorly developed in the field of cryptocurrencies, and also interest the majority of the population in bitcoin, it takes time. We all know that any global change does not happen overnight. And thus, fiat will remain "to rule the show" until better times.

The best answer would be, Nobody knows what the future holds. So we can't just say that every government will dump all fiat money. We all know that the government and bitcoin doesn't have a good relationship. Fiat money will stay and would still exist in many years because even if bitcoin can become known by the whole world, not all people has the ability to use it and will be able to do it.

The majority doesn't approved that because fiat money is what dominates the country but in the future i know that bitcoin will continue to grow and develop. For now, the only thing that we should do is to focus on the present because we wouldn't even know if we are gonna be in the future. Time is gold and we have to treasure everything we have and we also have to be grateful.

What will life after the dump of fiat looks like?
Bitcoin is an alternative, not a replacement. Bitcoin get its superiority because fiat is centralized and highly getting devalued by the government. But if nothing inferior again, then bitcoin may not worth it. So, if fiat are dumped, it will be disastrous.

What is your prospect about Bitcoin in the next century?
We are still in the second decade of this century, many people that are still living will die before the next century, the next century is so far to discussed about for now, many people close to the time will have such discussion, but not valuable for now.

It's very possible that in the near future, no fiat money will exist in our hand.
If everyone can make use of phone, computer or other related devices that can process payment, it will be possible. But, did you think this is possible? Fiat can be like tradition, but it still offers some advantage. I wish not to use cash for payment again, but I have no option at times because not everyone are literate to using digital means of payment in my country, and with what I see about this, it will take many more decades even if fiat will be eliminated.

Fiats in any forms, paper, polymer, digital number or CBDC are inflated or hyper inflated. They are hyper-inflated since the pandemic.

Governments won't make their fiats deflationary. Combine it with the more demand on Bitcoin, bigger adoption on cryptocurrency, Bitcoin will be exchanged at higher price, I believe it will happen. You can neither stop governments nor stop Bitcoin. So price has to rise.

Blockchain is literary the least efficient form of database and when it is decentralized it can not do a lot of things (ie. "running business  and everything"). In other words you are just hyped up about bitcoin so you think it and the technology it is using is going to be used everywhere!
The reality is that bitcoin and bitcoin blockchain is working well and it is designed this way for decentralization. The same model is not suitable for anything else.

The library, market, store, Fast food, transactions are now turning into digital which will help the Blockchain and the Bitcoin market to spike more than what we are seeing now.
Becoming "digital" has nothing to do with bitcoin or using blockchain!
They started becoming digital way before bitcoin was even created.

What will life after the dump of fiat looks like?
What is your prospect about Bitcoin in the next century?
No one can tell you exactly what will happened in the future but I could say that with the modern upgrade now blockchain and especially bitcoin will help a lot of sector in the long run. There are plenty of moneys lurking the interner and most of them flow into cryptocurrency. So in my opinion bitcoin in the next century would be more advance and will spread fast like wild fire.

I do not quite agree with you, I mean I do not think that countries will completely do away with paper money, and then if governments want to popularize digital currencies in their shores, it's definitely not going to be Bitcoin cause they can't control it, it is decentralized, they can't print it and they do not generally like it, they will rather 'compel' people to make use of their CBDC's, as we can see quite a lot of countries are already making plans to launch CBDC's, that's the digital currency the government would prefer, one that is centralized and controlled by them.

Talking about the "dump of Fiat", I personally do not believe that will happen and if it does it'll be replaced with CBDC, but we'll have to wait and see. I don't know what will happen with Bitcoin in the next century, but what I know is that I expect Bitcoin to get to mainstream adoption sometime in the future and I believe that would be the best time to be a Bitcoin enthusiast.

I'm also this kind of believer about bitcoin and blockchain before but we have to realize that not every country is set to adopt bitcoin as a replacement to the usual money system that we have.

I am new to the Bitcoin but I am having a conviction that Bitcoin is going to rule the world very soon seeing the may people are approaching Bitcoin every single day to invest in it. I joined this community 5 years ago and people back then were telling that in a few years the whole world will abandon fiat money and banks and will switch to Bitcoin. But in all these years there was no major progress in Bitcoin payments. You still very rarely see the "Bitcoin accepted here" banner on websites, almost no major company supports it, Steam stopped accepting it when the fees got high for the first time.

You are right that people will dump paper money, because now everyone has a payment app or can pay with their smartphone, but Bitcoin has nothing to do with it. Just because the world is moving towards digital money doesn't mean it's moving closer to Bitcoin.

Goodnight, o_e_l_e_o 🌹
Every fiat is a legal tender.
Every fiat is a national identity identifier.
Every fiat is a symbol of culture.
The power of every fiat indirectly says the power of the fiat owner.
Every fiat is an economic driver.
Every fiat is controlled by the government.
No government will trust anyone other than herself to make decisions about her currency.

Obsolescence of paper monies will happen, but the value of such fiat will be present in the equivalent digital token.
Then bitcoin will never exist alone, it will augment fiat, vice versa.

Unless we face so really new and unpredictable event, this is very unlikely.

All fiat money losing their value would literally be a financial collapse and a total breakdown of the world as we know.  A total apocalypse.

The most likely scenario is that bitcoin becomes a digital gold and/ or a very easy to use and widely accepted payment method.

Bitcoin was not designed to destroy fiat money, but to give us all an alternative.

Additionally,  governments and central banks want to control monetary emissions to make public policies work out. They will not just dump their fiat and go all in btc.
