I don't really think this would work.  My good friend is a gunsmith and FFL dealer. If you want to buy a gun without the government knowing you should just pay cash for one from a private seller (go somewhere like armslist.com).

If you want to have a gun purchased and shipped within the USA (like on gunbroker.com) then it has to ship from and to a registered FFL holder who has to complete an FBI background check and keep records of the sale, so although your financial transaction was discrete the government would still have record of your purchase....

...unless you just were doing it illegally, in which case you would probably just use BTC on SR as others have mentioned.

You got $1 for killing a buck deer back in the day, hence the term "a buck". I have nothing relevant to contribute to the actual topic of this thread but thought I'll give you something QI.

+1 and me thinks you from the UK Smiley.

bonus points for you Cheesy

If they are already doing what the OP suggests with bitcoin whey do they need guncoin. We just need more people to accept bitcoin.

What caliber is the coin? Jk um atlantis is has a weapons section I think.
I do not condone buying guns this way though, I think everyone deserves the right to bear arms. But some people do not need access to a gun, nor do they need to have a hidden gun stash.

Wasn't there an SR type site for guns that took BTC a few years ago? Or maybe it was on SR?

In theory, you could buy anything you want with bitcoins, including guns, if you could find someone to accept them and sell you them...why do you need to make a new currency, and how could you possibly enforce that it would only be used for buying guns (and why would you want to limit it so specifically?)...

While I was cleaning my Mosin Nagant an idea struck me.

I remembered how people bought guns on-line without the government knowing with Bitcoin

What if there was a crypto currency that was for websites such a Gunbroker?
