Please note that Bitcoin is anonymous and no one will find out that you have complied.

Suggest using debit/credit card to buy Bitcoin, scammer bitcoin address is known, then claim Bitcoin is anonymous, ridiculous.

It happens all the time because of those scammers in this virtual world they tend to fool someone, I hope you know what to do when you received a message like that, if you know that you can still access your website and nothing happens then it is obviously they they are lying. Do not panic and be wise in every situation if you are weak please be more careful because the scammers will take advantage for that thing. Some scammers offers a good thing, example on investment website they keep on saying that you will have good return but if you had deposited something nothing will happen.

Always be careful when doing some stuffs in crypto world and always be wise. Do not be so greed when someone message you out of nowhere.

This is normally address to a lot of emails and these scammers are checking if few of those recipient will click the bait. Its common sense for people who doesnt really have a website to ignore this, but there are some probably that will get nervous especially those bloggers that dont have any idea about hacked or phishing. Yes maybe the goal is too shallow and not so surprising but this is not new method. Ive been receiving dozen of emails claiming my posession was compromized even the funny part as you mentioned that you dont own that shit. Haha

Goodluck to these shallow ideas scammers thinking found it very lame. But thanks OP for informing as always caution is a must.

This is an empty threat from scammers as usual, very easy to detect, who sends money to blackmailers without being sure they have your documents they claim they have, if they have private information on your website truly, they'll include a copy of it in this mail.

Those scammers gotta eat. Just like how they claim to have a video of you pleasuring yourself on a webcam.

When in reality, you don't even have one Cheesy

If they have really hacked your website, then they will definitely show some proofs and evidences to make it more realistic. Thus, we should be very watchful because it won't be easy to bust their system if you don't have any idea about their techniques for tricking people for money. Scammers never fail to find a different way of scamming people, but some of it is too good to be true which makes people curious and cautious because it's their usual method. People shouldn't easily believe false information, especially when you don't even do your research to find out if it's legitimate.

As an example: I am a website owner and if I receive such an email, my first action will be to check my website, When I make sure my website is fine, then I will ignore such false email.

Advice:
Always check sender email address.
Do not download .EXE/.RAR/.ZIP files received in email.
Never click on the link sent in the email.

Hello everyone this is a warning for all those who own a website you may have, or you may soon receive a mail claiming that your websites database has been hacked, and they’ll demand a ransom amount from you in bitcoins but don’t panic as it’s a scam mail and your websites database has not been hacked. Now I know that many of you’ll are wise not to fall for this, but then again there’re those who’ll click on those links or even transfer funds to them, and therefore once again I’ll repeat that it’s a scam mail simply delete it and do nothing else.

Example of the mail:

Quote

We have hacked your website (Name of the Website) and extracted your databases.

How did this happen?
Our team has found a vulnerability within your site that we were able to exploit. After finding the vulnerability we were able to get your database credentials and extract your entire database and move the information to an offshore server.

What does this mean?

We will systematically go through a series of steps of totally damaging your reputation. First your database will be leaked or sold to the highest bidder which they will use with whatever their intentions are. Next if there are e-mails found they will be e-mailed that their information has been sold or leaked and your site name of the website was at fault thusly damaging your reputation and having angry customers/associates with whatever angry customers/associates do. Lastly any links that you have indexed in the search engines will be de-indexed based off of blackhat techniques that we used in the past to de-index our targets.

How do I stop this?

We are willing to refrain from destroying your site's reputation for a small fee. The current fee is $2000 USD in bitcoins (BTC).

Send the bitcoin to the following Bitcoin address (Copy and paste as it is case sensitive

Bitcoin address

Once you have paid we will automatically get informed that it was your payment. Please note that you have to make payment within 5 days after receiving this notice or the database leak, e-mails dispatched, and de-index of your site WILL start!

How do I get Bitcoins?

You can easily buy bitcoins via several websites or even offline from a Bitcoin-ATM. We suggest you to start with http://coinmama.com for buying bitcoins with credit/debit cards or http://localbitcoins.com for other type of payments.

What if I don’t pay?

If you decide not to pay, we will start the attack at the indicated date and uphold it until you do, there’s no counter measure to this, you will only end up wasting more money trying to find a solution. We will completely destroy your reputation amongst google and your customers.

This is not a hoax, do not reply to this email, don’t try to reason or negotiate, we will not read any replies. Once you have paid we will stop what we were doing and you will never hear from us again!

Please note that Bitcoin is anonymous and no one will find out that you have complied.
