The lists that you mention on Meta are basically data driven attempts at finding potentially suitable candidates to merit in an exceptional manner (exceptional as in not usual), not ensuring at all that the meriter will ultimately find the content of the posts of those listed meritable. The vast majority of posts that are merited are not data driven, but casually stumbled upon under the meriter’s (daily) browsing habits.  Daily browsing covers the chances of cero-merited profiles to be merited through their posts (as well as any other merit counter profile).

Being in a rush to be merited, whilst not caring much for it is rather a contradiction. I did not receive my first sMerit until nearly two months after joining the forum. Some people receive it earlier, some later, and some never. Bottom line is that there is no rush, and being it content driven, then that is what needs to be worked on (laterally you need to consider topic, style, depth, placement, etc.).

There are 3.935 Newbies that are still Newbies and that have at least 1 Merit (1.547 active from April 2019 onwards). That only goes to show that there are plenty of chances.

May you be increase in wisdom and humility, although can't guess your age but deeply inside me, you are mature to be called perfect mentor. I will definitely put you on my watch you are 100% different from those replies above you except that of Suchmoon who equally show me how things work here without insult.

because I have seen quite a number of individuals with merits, which are of my status.
I guess you just have to prove this. You are new to the forum and instead of talking about merits, why don't you just focus on talking about bitcoin and other cryptocurencies?
I will prove more than what they expect from me even though am new here. The fact that am new shouldn't make any to downgrade my integrity or personality on the forum.
Simple advise is enough for any reasonable human to take a positive step towards achieving a set goal. Thanks for your kind words

May I ask you this question: Who does or do the quality post? Is the post not posted by the quality poster?. You award merit to a quality post which was done by a quality poster and the poster takes the Glory and not the post.

Anyone can post quality posts not just those "quality posters" and even those quality posters can sometime post a non-quality posts. What I'm trying to say is not all posts of a quality posters are good quality and deserves Merits. Anyone can make good posts.

Those "Quality Posters" that you were talking about are those members who often contribute in some discussions and often received Merits and they deserve Merits as they were giving efforts to share knowledge in discussions. And anyone can be a quality poster.

You made only 20 posts. Too early to be concerned.
Way too early to earn any merits or to be concerned about them.  Also this:

why am still not be consider for the list provided by forum elites on this same Meta?
...makes me think OP has more accounts than just this one.  And I'd like to ask who these so-called 'forum elites' are.  Merit sources?  Members with a lot of merits?  Seems like a strange assumption of such from a newbie.

It's been a while since we've had this many threads about merits in Meta.  There's no magic to earning them--you have to put thought and effort into your posts, which is exactly what I wrote in the last thread about merits.  That was about two days ago if I recall correctly.

And OP, why do you think merits are useful?  They don't really keep you from reading or writing whatever you like here.  They're only important for ranking up, and that's not a big deal except those who want to earn more money via signature campaigns.  If that's your interest, I've no sympathy for you.  But just keep posting and doing it well, and you'll earn merits.

We all deserve respect from each other, false accusation aren't going to help another. Your last comment is what I take and not the way you bumb into me as if you are the forum owners. You should answer the question you asked me yourself, thanks.

It is meant to reward quality posts - not quality posters.

First and foremost am not here for merit and will not deviate from my believe.
Knowing the usefulness of Merit on this forum, I will solicit a review of my posts, and judge me base on your clear conscience, if I deserve to be merited or not; because I have seen quite a number of individuals with merits, which are of my status.
You now contradicting yourself and going against your believe

I find out about the forum while I was researching on my next investment project, and went in straight to sign up with the forum, without iota of doubt; this forum is second to none as my long battling addition over how to choose the best project to invest is a thing of the past.
What really are you trying to imply by this?  Merit has nothing to do with cryptocurrency investment(or it's a spicy way of saying you need to get into a signature campaign). You letting the merit thing get to you

Don't let the urge and hunger for merit get the better side of you leading to severe obsession at that point you get dissapointed when ever your post does not get merit making your zeal lesser towards making quality post
(1). "Stop searching for merit and you will get them i.e stop commenting or posting just to get merits." so I stop and to my surprise I got merited for the first time in this forum and the funny part is, it was not even my best comment (in which i was using to search for the merits).

Trust me you would not get merited by grumbling and whining.

Even if you earned merits, so what? Not like you'll receive special treatment from theymos.

Just think of Bitcointalk as another typical forum without merits and you'll eventually stop caring about them.

I heard that twice and am now back to my tent or"Israel".
Everyone has/had a different path on the forum, some earned merits immediately they started posting, they got off to a good start and never looked back(very good posters)
Some others were not so good when they came into the forum, so it took them quite a while to regularize themselves with what this discussion forum is all about and then they started earning merits and ranked up in the process.

You cannot complain at the moment(you are still new here), there have been numerous posts about merits and the best way to earn them is not to worry or think too much about them.
The more you crave for'em, the more they prove elusive to you.

Everyone wants to make wishes come true, like wanting to get Merit, rankings, etc.
For this purpose, it is necessary to work hard, contribute, positive posts first in this forum.
With the desire inside you, that means you already have a chance to get it (Merit).
desires are important, but you also have to understand the rules that are here (Forum), don't let you be controlled by uncontrolled personal desires. Sometimes, strong desires can turn into ambitions, and violate existing Forum rules
in order to make that wish come true and become a reality.
So, keep trying as much as possible to provide quality posts, naturally Merit will come to you.

Have a good fight.

why don't you consider those without Merit instead considering those who have already made enough Merit?.

You have the wrong fundamentals of the merit system.  It is meant to reward quality posts - not quality posters.

That's not really the basis of giving sMerits. Those people who don't have Merits are not prioritized/considered but it's the same for those who have some, it is based from the quality of your posts content. There are lot of members here that already received tons of Merits but there are times or days that they haven't received one.

All members here are equal when ot comes to sMerits distribution, the only difference is how their post quality differ.

First and foremost am not here for merit and will not deviate from my believe. Just going through the meta section and found out how useful Merit can be for forum members and have taken this step to ask: why am still not be consider for the list provided by forum elites on this same Meta? Even at that, why don't you consider those without Merit instead considering those who have already made enough Merit?. Personally, I have no grunge over what the elites choose to work on; but, it will be nice if those who are also giving their best are likewise consider for the honour.
