This is from a private Reddit chat. It’s infuriating that bitcointalk is banned from being mentioned/linked on these massive platforms. Censorship bullshit. Just a rant. I wish there was a way around it.

Feel free to test commenting Bitcointalk in The BitcoinTalkShow teaser just launched
That didn't take long: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.58289034

Thanks for the reply Cyrus.  I will do some testing in that YouTube link here in a bit..play around with it and what not, so we can all try to figure out what's getting blocked and what's not.  Excited to see the new BitcoinTalkShow and see it develop.  I mentioned to another Mod already but if you guys ever want a guest from the collectibles community, someone to explain the history (all the way from Gavin creating the idea, to BitBills putting it in place) I'd be happy to do it Smiley
That would be great! Dedicated episodes for collectibles are already planned. A podcast would be equally interesting IMO. Plus in the spring we should see the first ever Casascius shown off at Pawn Stars: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/pawn-stars-5363368
And it would be nice to show people how Bitcoin collectibles how they appeared, evolved and how they work.

I actually noticed similar issue concerning Bitcointalk years before now, but I just wasn't sure.

Some weeks ago, I learned that the forum is seen like some sort of a "secret project" filled with unique people with weird/strong ideas that ought not to be public. I think this is probably from people at the top.
I got that when I'm not sure I was thinking about the forum. Haven't confirm this yet though.

I dont think we need the video sharing site to survive, they likely will realize they need the forum so much if they haven't done so already

Yeah, couldn't remember where this thread was, Off-topic isn't the best place for i. It's about the forum, so you could move it to Meta. Those Youtube live scam videos staying more than a comment containing Bitcointalk is annoying.
Indeed, seems that Youtube deletes comments containing links. They could learn a thing or two about how we deal with spam around here  Grin

YouTube seems to have a love/hate relationship with Bitcoin.  I noticed that a couple of days ago they made waves in the community by removing Pomp's Best Business Show.  They deleted his entire channel just for having a guest on that mentioned his believed Bitcoin would trade over a million dollars in 4 years.  The channel was reinstated same day, but they have shined a light on what's happening to all Bitcoin content creators on their platform, and most don't have the reach and contacts to be able to get their channel back in a few hours.

But what’s funny is they allow bot comments for bitcoin forex trading scams left and right with links. One thing I’ve also noticed that I forgot to mention is that often my post won’t even be allowed to be edited seconds after it’s made. That’s odd because it seems like they allow it to be posted at least for a few hours or so. I don’t get it. Something is fishy here.

Mods - do any of you guys know anything about this? (Loyce, knower of all, any idea ?..figuring you’ll see this since you’re an AI and cover this entire site lol) This thread will die in off topic and likely not get the answers us collectibles nerds want. This is actually important for both growing our hobby and btalk, imo. Is there no where else this can be posted? I really dont think this is off topic for the collectibles board, as it’s directly related to them in this scenario.( but who am I to complain, lucky to be here!)

Recall that the arbitrary thresholds for 'report quantity' on any given comment gives way to Sybil attacks. That, applied to a large-enough ecosystem that is not within the capabilities of human management, results in a high number of false positives. Better those than false negatives: there will always be more, and anything even slightly damaging cannot be allowed to propagate.*

*amusing is the idea of a runaway artificial marketing intelligence

Hard to see how to contain a certain level of decorum in comments. Scalability, decentralization, security...

Any idea if posting that link is against its rules or algorithm or what might be causing this?  As I have said before I’m constantly trying to educate others all over the interwebs (Quora, Facebook, instagram etc) and of course YouTube is one of the main places I try doing so, but, they keep deleting my shit lol. Thoughts ?
AFAIK commenting links on youtube is allowed. I have tried to comment with "bitcointalk.org" on one of my channel using a different account and guess what it was deleted as well without giving me a reason/notification after few refresh after posting.

Edit: made another comment that wasn't a link but with just "bitcointalk. org", separating the domain, it wasn't deleted but was hidden, coz the number in comments showing was 5, yet the actually comments shows were only 4 excluding mine.

Now, probably the word bitcointalk word was filtered and probably prohibited to use in the comment or maybe in the title as well.

Thanks for sharing! I knew something odd was going on.  Why the hell are they doing this?!  It's funny, they'll allow for crypto scams to advertise on their site but won't even let us comment "bitcointalk.org".  Some odd/shaddy bs.  This kinda stuff irritates the hell out of me. I wonder if I send Google a message if they'll respond. Probably not but worth a try I suppose.

Curious if any of you have come across this before, but it seems like when I comment on bitcoin collectible stuff on YouTube it’s always deleting my comments. I often include “bitcointalk.org” in my comments, and wonder if that’s what’s doing it.
