Oh, I've been following this channels for long time and their version in my language as I like way how they present information and recent news from front line - short and clear. Well, Russian bots perfectly know what they're doing. But channels which spread Russian propaganda aren't getting removed even after massive reports.
Demonetisation isn't biggest issue as it's very unlikely that they make much money from ads. Finding alternative platform where to upload videos isn't impossible too. But actually, you can't replace Youtube as you don't get such reach anywhere. 500k subscribers, hundreds of thousands views on every video - you simply won't make such things on alternative platforms.

While Ruzzian channels are already "monetised" by their "patrons", that is my guess anyway, the rest of the world is not sitting idle anyway. At least the EU is now patrolling actively looking for attempts to influence the European elections and the local elections. There is a whole list of sites that are deemed to be organised to create a certain opinion of Ruzzia being directly closed.

But those are just sites, the larger platforms such as TwitterX or Youtube have their own policies and should be treated as potential sources of disinformation by default when using them.

It was expected to see YouTube turning into a virtual battle field for both sides interested on covering the war in Ukraine. In my opinion, it does not matter how sophisticate or organized those troll and bit farms in Russia are, Google is a billionaire technological company and is supposed to have the resources and the talent to face such a threat against the health of the community.
Also. I agree it is not about money in this case, it is about using western media for Putin to try to convince the maximum number of people in this hemisphere about the righteousness of the Russian invasion against a sovereign neighbor nation as Ukraine is, the farms are being directly financed by the government of Russia, unlike other channels which are targeted or mass reported by the Russian bots, those actually need to profit off their advertisements and their partnerships.

It is very frustrating how Google does not seem to care for widespread problems, like the scam streamings from some years ago, which promised to double any money sent to them, the hijacking of channels, the bad quality ads and now this. It seems they do not actually care to improve as long as they got the monopoly on Internet videos.

I stand with Ukraine.

Youtube has been frequently demonetising channels that report on the Ruzzian invasion of Ukraine from the Ukrainian perspective. The bot-troll farms in Ruzzia create bots that massively accuse the videos or channels of all short of violations. It may be time to seek alternatives to Youtube as their censorship system seems to be based on the idea of first kill then ask / first demonetise and then... nothing, just kill.

YouTube is YouTube, it is the most popular video sharing platform. If you upload your videos anywhere else, you lose a big part of your audience. Rather than seeking for alternatives we should think about how to tame YouTube and then use it effectively for our victory instead.
