You were saying the word "attack" was inappropriate? The violence goes both ways. You are just mad I destroyed your argument on gun control and are looking for revenge.

Oh, you mean this?

Your argument was DOA, so I performed an autopsy, but yeah, you totally won that one.

Sorry I missed your reply princess. Here is my reply: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.12074968

The only thing DOA is your brain stem.

It's compassion that rules now, and there's nothing you theists can do to stop it. Perhaps search for your god in compassion and you will find him.

The 10,000 year era of violence is coming to a close now, and without violence religion has no chance to survive.

Compassion = Attacking individuals who practice religion, not for what they themselves have done, but because you have decided for them that their religion and culture have no value. Religion is not synonymous with violence any more than homosexuality is with pedophilia.

Language that implies violence should not be used when no violence is present. For example, it would be fair to say that medieval Christians were attacking atheists when they burned them alive at the stake.

My language is perfectly appropriate, you are just looking for any excuse not to address my point. Furthermore I can choose my words without you imposing your dictates upon my language thank you.

verb at·tack \ə-ˈtak\

: to act violently against (someone or something) : to try to hurt, injure, or destroy (something or someone)

: to criticize (someone or something) in a very harsh and severe way

: to begin to work on or deal with (something, such as a problem) in a determined and eager way"

I concede this point,  you are correct about the word attack. Still wrong about your lack of faith in Jibbers Crabst though, dirty heathen.

Followers of our Lord and Savior Crabst have never burned anyone alive, sadly we cannot say the same for Christians.

Actually, I'd call it crying wolf, or hysteria. If you don't want to emphasise the violent style or nature of the criticism, then don't use the word attack, because it's exaggeration and paranoia. So you were right to call him out on it.

What I said was quite reasonable. Liathon as usual likes to try to cast everyone who disagrees with him in the most extremist light possible.

Speaking of hysteria... here is some real hysteria for you:

Actually USA is doing everything to displace putin with a us puppet and start wars all over the world to bring nwo gay agenda everywhere. Only way to prevent this and save the planet from sodomy-slavery is to make a preventative nuclear strike against usa and nato vassals. After that world would be very peaceful place  Smiley

So much idiocy in this thread, so little time to debunk and myth-bust...

Accepting gay marriage is simply a way to make more money in taxes somehow.

Some people always did it already... lived together as though they were married even though they weren't. Others never would. It all has to do with making money somehow.

Smiley

Whatever happened to "live and let live" that is one of the Libertarian mantras popular round here? Only applies to the Libertarian stereotype? (White, male, middle-America neck-beard?)

On one hand, I feel bad for the people of the United States. Their kids will be brainwashed with gay propaganda, and at least some of them will become homosexuals when they grow up and will ultimately die from HIV and syphilis. On the other hand, I feel happy. If the American society is weakened, then they will not be able to launch attacks on sovereign nations, such as Serbia and Iran. So a gayer US (Gaymerica) is good for the world peace.

Uh-oh! The deranged RuSSian troll is back!
You have obviously been exposed to a lot of gay propaganda yourself, so here are few hints to assist you in your recovery:
-People don't "become" homosexual, unless you're talking about things like prenatal hormones or early brain development.
-HIV or Syphilis can get anyone, even in Russia, and even YOU  Wink

When US America is being a gay country, which you said it is good for peace, then how about the other countries? They can attack US, and will never miss the chance to do that.

How many countries have tried to invade the United States, during the last 70 years? I can't remember anyone doing that. On the other hand, the Americans have invaded at least five dozen countries during the same time. So the real problem is the United States invading other sovereign nations without any provocation, and not the other way around.

How about Russia? The most famous example that I can think of was the Cuban missile crisis. The various outbreaks of Communism in South America can certainly also be traced back to USSR=Russian attempts to either set up military bases, or for USSR=Russia to foist their failed Communist ideology on innocent civilians.

Many other examples also clearly show that the US was reacting to Russian aggression.
Communist North Korea.
Parts of north Japan annexed by Russia.

...
Just stop being paranoid. No one is going to invade a country, which possess close to 10,000 nuclear weapons. Russia is definitely not interested in invading the United States,...
Ahahahahaha!
Tell that to yourself, you idiot, the next time you wet your pants because you think NATO wants to invade Russia.

Fortunately today religions don't execute many people, except for maybe Islamist extremists, and a small handful of other sporadic non institutionalized cases. Unfortunately socialist states however, still are.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_killings_under_Communist_regimes

"[A] shift in intellectual mood has come from the critique of the perceived failures and blinders of the secular project. To be sure, this critique is not universally shared, but a vast scholarship, along with a proliferating array of opinion journals and think tank symposia, catalog the fallout from the abandonment of transcendent societal anchors. Epitomizing this thought is Paul Johnson's magisterial book Modern Times, which attacks the common Enlightenment assumption that less religious faith necessarily equals more human freedom or democracy. The collapse of the religious impulse among the educated classes in Europe at the beginning of the twentieth century, he argues, left a vacuum that was filled by politicians wielding power under the banner of totalitarian ideologies – whether 'blood and soil' Fascism or atheistic Communism. Thus the attempt to live without God made idols of politics and produced the century's 'gangster statesmen' – Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot – whose 'unappeasable appetite for controlling mankind' unleashed unimaginable horrors. Or as T.S. Eliot puts it, 'If you will not have God (and he is a jealous God) you should pay your respects to Hitler or Stalin."

https://books.google.com/books?id=EkIvbxefBNsC&pg=PA24&dq=Stalin+Mao+Pol+Pot&q=unappeasable+appetite+for+controlling+mankind&hl=en

Mankind has a hard wired drive to idolize and worship. The question is, is it more reasonable to focus that energy reverence towards imaginary sky Gods, or on real, fallible human beings in positions of great power, and whom are most certainly completely corrupt.

Every state execution in Connecticut from 1640 - 1700 was for either sodomy or witchcraft. There were 13 such documented executions, and almost certainly many more undocumented murders for these "crimes".

The law of God and the law of government are separated by the US government, and they do so because they want to meet more people's affection, however, they caused more dissatisfaction of believers, so I really want to know the original intention of this change.
Back in the colonial days, before separation of Church and State, men would leverage the power of the state to enforce the will of their chosen deity, in this case the Christian god. Masturbation, homosexuality, and heresy were all punishable by death.

Each such case was of course a terrible abortion of injustice, and many people recognized this, felt empathy for those being murdered senselessly. Early Americans decided they didn't want to live in a society that engaged in Human Sacrifice to satisfy an angry God. We didn't want to be like Ancient Aztecs.

Churchmen used the State to murder their fellow citizens when they felt offended, so that's why we have separation of church and state.

The separation of church and state in the US was never intended to remove the idea of God from law. This was meant as a way to declare independence not only from other nations, but from religious institutions (such as the Roman Catholic church) as well. In addition to this, it was meant as a way to preserve people's freedom to worship any God they choose, or no God at all, because the state is intended to be neutral to all religious dogmas. In fact the very basis of law, especially the US Constitution and Bill of Rights are based on the concept that there is something bigger than you, me, or any government, and that those ideals should be protected above all else. To remove God from law is to remove your own rights as a human being. The very concept of spirituality is the basis of all of our rights under the law, other wise human beings would be nothing more than property to be owned, used, and disposed of by more powerful humans.

Except that the Supreme Court, itself, is a minority.

The greatest form of legal and lawful minority rule is the jury. The jury has the right and duty to not follow what the judge says, but to follow what they believe. They can judge the guilt or innocence of a person, prescribe his sentence if any, and judge the legality of a law right down to nullifying a whole law or any part of it.

At least on this argument, I will have to agree with you. The SCOTUS is a highly biased and politicized body which has lost its neutrality ages ago. The recent judgement on the gay marriage is a perfect example to this. The judges voted according to their political beliefs, and gay marriage became legalized as the liberals outnumbered the conservatives.

You've been warned, America, gay marriage is just the beginning

“Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.”

What Winston Churchill said in 1942 following a British military victory in North Africa might also be said about Friday’s narrow 5-4 decision by the Supreme Court legalizing marriage between people of the same sex.

That the majority threw a bone to religious people, their churches and institutions, saying they could continue to preach and teach that homosexual marriage is wrong, will almost certainly be challenged by gay activists and secularists whose goal is to drive religious people, and especially Christians, out of the public square.

What might be a preview of things to come occurred last week when the Fairfax County (Va.) School Board voted 10-2 to approve a “gender identity” curriculum for children starting in seventh grade. News reports said the crowd that showed up for the vote overwhelmingly opposed the decision, but majorities no longer matter. Minorities rule, except on the Supreme Court.

What do you mean 'you've been warned' ? I think it is a revolutionary start for the people of America. In the end, nothing really matters but love and compassion. We are  all the same and we all want happiness and peace and harmony in life. I don't understand the idea behind why would people be so sadistic.

As per the latest surveys (conducted by the Pew Research Center), a majority of the males in Japan are opposed to homosexuality, while a majority of the females are favoring the same. There is a gender divide in Japan. But in all the other countries which I had mentioned before, the majority of the population opposes homosexuality.
Perhaps our Gay Genius Scientists can devise a bomb that will only kill the Male Japanese this time... I'll have to get back to you on that.

If two people love each other, they should be allowed to marry. The gender isn't important.
Another interesting thing is the hate of the male gender towards gay men, but not that much towards lesbians. I don't really have a specific stance towards either, however I choose to respect peoples decisions and not judge/hate them.

I agree that America moved to the wrong direction.
Yes, gay marriage is only the beginning of process and this can end up with new definition of marriage, that anyone can marry anyone, 1 man with 2 women, 2 women with 1 man, any other combination and finally we can have legalized polygamy.
All in the name of human rights because no one should be discriminated and everybody's wishes must be respected, right?
How about no? Netherlands had legalizied same-sex marriage 14 years ago as far as I know (the first marriage happened in 2001), and there is nothing wrong with that country today. There are also a few others that have legalized it as well such as in Belgium, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, etc.

I have to ask myself why is everyone so obsessed with this?

Ah self reporting survey studies. The height of scientific rigor.
This survey was conducted by the Media Insight Project, an initiative of the American Press Institute (API) and the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. The survey was conducted from January 5 through February 2, 2015. The survey was funded by API. The API, NORC at the University of Chicago, and AP staff collaborated on all aspects of the study.

The study included multiple modes of data collection. The portion of the survey involving screening for age eligibility and recruitment was completed by telephone, while the main portion of the questionnaire was administered online. The telephone component included only cell telephone numbers (no landlines), and used both random-digit-dial (RDD) and age-targeted list sample from the 50 states and the District of Columbia. During recruitment efforts, a total of 6,635 adults provided age information, and 2,297 (35 percent) were deemed eligible because they fell between the ages of 18 and 34. Of those 2,297, a total of 1,759 respondents (77 percent) went on to complete the recruitment phase of the survey, which involved agreeing to receive an invitation for the web survey either by email or text message, and providing one’s email address or cell telephone number. Of the recruited participants, 1,046 (59 percent) completed the web survey. The final response rate was 14 percent, based on the American Association for Public Opinion Research Response Rate 3 method.

None of this matters. It was conducted via a self reported survey. People lie to themselves and others constantly. This does not meet the standards of scientific method, which would correct for peoples ability to bullshit and make more direct observations of their behavior.

And according to the latest available information, an average American spends 109.5 minutes browsing internet, while spending 375.8 minutes on the traditional media.
Here we go again with the unsupported conclusions! Binge-watching Netflix does not equal getting news from TV.

http://www.americanpressinstitute.org/publications/reports/survey-research/millennials-news/single-page/

Notice the particularly stark news-source difference between millennials and baby boomers. Note also Fox News dropping from 47% to 36% to 30% as you go from older to younger.

Among the study’s findings:

While Millennials are highly equipped, it is not true they are constantly connected. More than 90 percent of adults age 18-34 surveyed own smartphones, and half own tablets. But only half (51 percent) say they are online most or all of the day.
Email is the most common digital activity, but news is a significant part of the online lives of Millennials, as well. Fully 69 percent report getting news at least once a day — 40 percent several times a day.

Millennials acquire news for many reasons, which include a fairly even mix of civic motivations (74 percent), problem-solving needs (63 percent), and social factors (67 percent) such as talking about it with friends.

Contrary to the idea that social media creates a polarizing “filter bubble,” exposing people to only a narrow range of opinions, 70 percent of Millennials say that their social media feeds are comprised of diverse viewpoints evenly mixed between those similar to and different from their own. An additional 16 percent say their feeds contain mostly viewpoints different from their own. And nearly three-quarters of those exposed to different views (73 percent) report they investigate others’ opinions at least some of the time — with a quarter saying they do it always or often.

Facebook has become a nearly ubiquitous part of digital Millennial life. On 24 separate news and information topics probed, Facebook was the No. 1 gateway to learn about 13 of those, and the second-most cited gateway for seven others.
At the same time, younger Millennials express growing frustration with Facebook, and there are signals in the research that the use of social media will continue to splinter with time. Younger Millennials use more social networks (an average of four) than older ones (who average three).

They are also more likely than older ones to have cut back on their social media use or dropped a social network completely. In our longer interviews, these younger Millennials describe Facebook like a utility they have to use rather than one they enjoy.

When Millennials want to dig deeper on a subject, search is the dominant method cited by 57 percent (and it is the one cited most often as useful), followed by news sites (23 percent). Only 7 percent cite checking Facebook to learn more.

And when Millennials do dig deeper, the most important qualities that make a destination useful are that they know the source well (57 percent) and that this digital source is transparent and rich with references and links (52 percent).

Millennials, however, do not worry much about privacy. Only 2 in 10 worry a good deal about privacy in general. And when asked about specific concerns, only 22 percent worry even a little about government surveillance; 30 percent worry even a little about corporate America knowing too much about them. The biggest worry, 38 percent, is identity theft.

Despite this lack of overall concern, the vast majority of Millennials (86 percent) have changed their behavior online, mostly to control what people know about them. Fifty-two percent have changed their privacy settings, while 37 percent say they are now more likely to remove information or photos of themselves that are embarrassing or immature.

Fox News viewership is stable and slightly growing, while that of the progressive (pro-Sodomite) channels such as CNN and MSNBC are going down sharply.
This statement just shows how woefully out of touch with reality you are. Progressive young people aren't getting their news from TV at all, they get it from Reddit (the 4th most popular site on the internet).

According to Pew Research, internet is not among the most popular news sources in the United States. Reddit might be popular in the Europe, but it has not yet achieved that sort of popularity in the United States. And according to the latest available information, an average American spends 109.5 minutes browsing internet, while spending 375.8 minutes on the traditional media.

God wants people to have children so that the land can be filled with people. Gay marriage and abortion does not produce children.
God wants us to despoil the Paradise he gave us, ruining it for all future generations of his children? Because that's what we're doing, and it seems like a pretty fucking selfish and convenient worldview to have.

It's not the poor people from Mexico who are messing up the world of nature that God gave us all. It is the people of knowledge and science and engineering who are creating things that cause pollution. And it is the stupid people like us who are asking them to give us more and more of the things that pollute.

God has said in the Revelation that He will destroy those who are destroying the earth. This isn't the poor people from Mexico who are simply trying to eek out a life from the land, or a better life in a place where they think there is peace.

You just love twisting my words and ideas, don't you. The mental and spiritual pain in your life is becoming evident to all. You should really seek psychological and spiritual help before you go off the deep end.

This statement just shows how woefully out of touch with reality you are. Progressive young people aren't getting their news from TV at all, they get it from Reddit (the 4th most popular site on the internet).

Two fifths of the American lands are tied up in State or Nation owned lands where almost nobody lives. Since America has reduced and is reducing its population growth, God is seeing to it that people from Mexico are coming up to fill the void. People from Mexico are very family oriented and will take up the slack.

At the same time, the things that these people lack in understanding about the salvation of God - though they are very religious - will be explained by Americans to them as they take over and fill the land for God.

Just stop being paranoid. No one is going to invade a country, which possess close to 10,000 nuclear weapons. Russia is definitely not interested in invading the United States, and North Korea does not have the capability to do so. There is only one country which is interested in invading the US, and it is Mexico. A silent invasion is already happening, and no one will realize it until everything is over.  Grin

Actually I am not paranoid and don't really care if US is invaded, since thats not of my country. But in my opinion numbers of US enemy is increasing and there is a possibility to be happened. Since there are many spanish speakers in US, I think you are right about the silent invasion.

Then if US will be weakened, do you think there is no country will miss the chance to invade US? US haters is waiting for that moment to be happened, like Russia and North Korea. They don't care if they must wait it for 100 years, a little chance can be a big impact for them.

I think you meant 2 men with 1 woman  Cheesy  US is the best place for "democracy" where we can propose anything to be legalized by government if we have many human right activists who support us. I guess if polygamy is legalized too, then an US man can have 1 girlfriend and 1 boyfriend as his life partners. The good combination of polygamy and same sex marriage.

You can't expect that a lion won't eat you just because you don't eat it. Or do you want to be a gay too, so you will be a peace maker then?

Near future Endgame: Rich old conservative media mogul fuckwits die of old age, progressive millennials outlive them by many decades, everybody wins.

If that was the case, then Fox News wouldn't have been the most popular news channel in the United States. Fox News viewership is stable and slightly growing, while that of the progressive (pro-Sodomite) channels such as CNN and MSNBC are going down sharply. This means that the people want conservative news on their TVs.

http://deadline.com/2014/12/cable-news-ratings-fox-news-channel-wins-13th-consecutive-year-1201338131/

Interesting source, the article doesn't provide complete fact to it's claim, it only shows that Fox had highest viewership in 2014, not for the previous 13 years. The source, Nielsen, is legit though. The bar charts are confusing though, what's the second bar supposed to represent by network?

What is it that Fox News this is coming, what's the end game?
Futile rearguard effort from Murdoch and his ilk, they're already defeated and by now they must know it. The last, sad, desperate gasp of twentieth century ignorance. That's all this is.

The reality is that the end comes when the People of the US decide it has come, the People run this country, no one else. If the Gov't steps beyond their bounds, the People vote that government out (see the abundance of Democrats elected in 2008.)

Another reality is that the news is in the business of creating sensational stories out of status quo...it's how they make their money. I wouldn't get too caught up in what Fox News (or MSNBC for that matter) have to say about "what's supposed to happen".

Idiot.

I am glad we are seeing the weakening of religious oppression in america.  Maybe some day we will have true religious freedom, and not just the freedom to choose christianity.

People don't really want to get away from religion. They might want to get away from oppression. They might mistakenly think that religion is oppression. But when they force the formal religions off themselves, then they automatically take on the informal religion of non-religion, and they're right back where they were before, except that now they don't have the structure in their lives that we all want.

Accepting gay marriage is simply a way to make more money in taxes somehow.

Some people always did it already... lived together as though they were married even though they weren't. Others never would. It all has to do with making money somehow.

You've been warned, America, gay marriage is just the beginning
The beginning of the end for religion.

Everyone relax and remember, there's an entire community of bigots out there having a worse week than you. Like OP here.

According to the dictionary definition you most certainly are attacking individuals who practice religion. In addition you credit all those who are religious with violent acts. Why is it appropriate for you to paint every single religious person with a brush of violence but I am not even allowed to use a word according to its dictionary definition to accurately describe your behavior and ideology. Funny how you social justice warriors always rely on playing linguistic shell games to "win" your arguments.
