my video card after a while mining begins to make strange noises even being 59c with the cooler at 70%
I'm afraid they die fast.

I'm worried about that.
I'm using two zotac:

Zotac cards a sort of the bottom of the barrel from what I have heard. When you go with a lower-quality manufacturer you are bound to end up with a few issues. I would suggest grabbing yourself an EVGA the next time you plan on grabbing a card; or at least some other reputable and top-tier manufacturer.

Those temperatures are not bad at all. I'm almost positive most people would consider that light-usage when it comes to mining. Nothing to be worried about as far as I am concerned. Are you doing anything strange with the TDP, memory clock or anything like that?

without overclocking, only power at 70%

You can set the temperature limit in different programs like Msi. I am also mining with Nvidias and have put the temperature limit at 69 degree. Everything is running fine so far in all brands and I dont here any noise nor excesive heat. Fans are 76%.

i think the default GPU temp should be around 70. because when my gpu reach 70 they will try faster fan for cooling

I usually run them around 65 to 68 degree. It is safer for the long term.

It might be coil whine, try adjusting fan speed manualy and see if the sound increase when you speed up the fans

Here is your problem. Zotac cards suck. They get too hot, they die too fast. Lots of complaints about that manufacturer. Yours is and will be just another one.

Not true at all. Zotac's Amp Extreme is the most badass card out there, I've been using them for quite a while with no issues and so have a lot of other miners.

If you have coil whine with zec dont even try to do neoscrypt you'll go deaf lol.

If you use the same TDP, will NEO use more energy?

I think that's a normal temperature, you have a problem with a noise. I saw you set between 50% and 70% fan and your worries about that.

for me, it's clear, why when setting 70% compared when a sett 50 %. because of when increasing a sett then automatically fan faster spinning and making a "strange noise" (depends on every miner whether feeling disturbed or not).

Hello, I bought two video cards for mining zcash, I tested several other currencies and the only one that forces the boards to the limit is the zcash
my video card after a while mining begins to make strange noises even being 59c with the cooler at 70%
I'm afraid they die fast.

mining with other ETH or XMR coins, it gets very cold, at most 50C with a cooler at 50% and the boards make no noise at all

takes a long time to mine ETH and XMR, it is faster and easier to receive payments from pools with zcash

I'm worried about that.

I'm using two zotac:
1 - 1080 AMP!EXTREME |70%POWER|Core/mem +0|fan 70%|59c| 580 Sol/s
1 - 1080Ti AMP!EXTREME |70%POWER|Core/mem +0|fan 70%|53c| 750~800 Sol/s

Ya kidding me. Tempture or my GPU is 60-70c and i sleep in the same room.  No problem.

Zcash mining need more gpu core power than eth and xmr. So your gpu will make more heat and coolers has to run faster
My 1060 3gb card got 6x celcius with 80% fan speed.

Yes, sometimes that noise happens, it is the coils in 90% cases. it is not realy dangerouse I think, cause manufactures says that is normal.. so I guess it normal then.  you do not do something special with your cards, a lot of people mine zec with your setting and their cards are doing just fine.. so yours should be ok too

Are you able to video the sound, bit hard to tell without. Could be coil whine?
