Anything not built on top of Bitcoin at this point is to be considered a shitcoin scam or testnet IMO. No one wants your copycat+gimmicks chain.

I absolutely agree with you. Few successful coin on one code base.

So one fatal flaw to bring them all down at once? A mixture of different codebases is not that bad at all.

Good/fair write up.  And yes as usual those big fish will win/make money as usual right from the get-go and the small sheep will just play whatever swings they can.

Hey Everybody.

So Zcash has been having alot of hype recently. I am blaming a small amount of Devil's Advocate in this post it would be good to hear other peoples input.

So far there have been 0 Zcash coins mined, and there will not be any mined until the release date later this month. Already Genesis Mining has put out emails saying how you can pre-purchase hashing power for when this goes live. If you browse the forums you can see that somewhat modern CPUs, I would say "above average gamer" CPUs are getting around the 6 seconds PER HASH or 1/6 hashes per second. Again the code could change so take this with a grain of salt.

Zcash has had alot of big money put into the system, and it is very obvious that somebody somewhere has coded a miner that will put them ahead of the average miner. I use the term "average" loosely, because I think, on average, most of us do not have big mining farms. From the start I feel that Zcash will be making money for one group of people -- the big name investors who got it started.

People do not get behind projects like this and invest millions of dollars on a whim that it "might work". These are extremely calculated decisions, designed to make them money. I feel that the launch of Zcash is already being setup to make the most money for this initial investors and the people with proprietary coding/miners/huge farms.

That being said, always do your own research. Based on what I have seen I am not going to be clammering to purchase Zcash token as soon as they hit the market, nor will I be trying to mine this ( again I am  small fish). I also will not be purchasing "cloud" hashing power to try and get in on it from the ground level.

Zcash I think will have a good run and of course, some people will make alot of money, but I think the majority of the money will go to the dev team, and the big miners ( Genesis) that have the farms already set up waiting to hit "Start Mining" the second the code/nodes go live.

I would be interested to hear what others have to say and what their thoughts on Zcash are.

You can read more about how Genesis mining already has a farm ready to go from T = 0 seconds here ( NOT ref link)

Of course, if you are the betting kind, you can purchase hash power from them and maybe you will make some money. However, Genesis Mining contracts always make one entity money -- THEM!!!

So, what are your thoughts!!?
