This is a huge loop hole being a privacy coin. When your identity is revealed then it will seem like a centralized platfrom which many people will lose interestel in.

Nevertheless, the importance of privacy transactions is only cared by some special people who deeply care about their privacy. For the rest, they are solely use Zcash for investment, tradings, and moving their funds from exchanges to exchanges, from platforms to platforms. They don't care about privacy, and traceability of their transactions through Zcash.

Yes. Only people that USE cryptocurrencies care if coin have opaque or transparent ledger. Those that just trade them on exchanges dont care. Crypto currencies were not meant to be traded on exchanges. They were made to be used everyday. and those without use case should be worth zero.

That's very fool of the users. I think I have seen one more article where Chainalysis claimed that it is possible to trace Zcash and Dash tx which is a big threat to the privacy coin users. Both of this coins are used for various private purpose.
Well, then what about so called verge? They are accepted in pornhub, guess the reaction of the people who use verge to pay in pornhub  Grin

OP brought a good article on privacy when moving Zcash.

Anyway, the article help people who care about privacy and have better practice when they move their Zcash coins.

I had earlier reported here that your Zcash transactions are not safe, and those transactions can be traced back to you and now Chainalysis has confirmed this, and they have also claimed they can track Dash coins too. However what surprised me was Dash coins CEO statement where he welcomed Chainalysis tracking ability of the transactions done using Dash coins, because Dash coins most important feature is it’s privacy, and if that’s been invaded how is it a good thing for Dash coin users?.

Quote

"Dash offers users the option of privacy-enhanced transactions because user safety is important for mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency, and it is there for end users that value that functionality. At the same time, Chainalysis is a leading provider of advanced AML and blockchain analytics that is necessary for money services businesses needing to balance privacy needs with compliance needs. Ultimately, both promote the safe use of cryptocurrencies, while ensuring access to legacy financial markets, so I’m pleased that Chainalysis has chosen to implement Dash into their platform."

Maybe it is not because they don't know but they don't care about privacy in all of their transactions? Think about it this way, you could make 100 transactions in a year and 99 of them could be fine ones that you do not worry about privacy at all, common stuff like exchanges, casinos and many other stuff like that which you do not care about being hidden and worry about being traced but there could be that one transaction that you want to hide and you use it properly.

As you can see most of your transactions became traceable but you still used it the way it should be used when it came to the one that you really want to hide. Of course there could be many that use it wrong and that could be the reason but let's not forget about people who realize the issue and still try to not hide it when its not something they want to hide.

Guess what, Zcash aka ZEC users come to Zcash not by its top notch privacy features or whatever. Sure that's a good attraction point but like many cryptocurrencies at right now, people come to invest and make a profit. Maybe they just want to keep track of their transaction too so who know.

Yup. 99% of crypocurrency users are using it to make profit by buying and selling. For them privacy is totally irrelevant. In many cases they keep their coins on an exchange anyway. So totally unrelated to the blockhain and its technology.

The very moment then more people will start USING cryptocurrencies, most of transparent ledger cryptocurrencies will be totally forgotten. When you use coins you dont want anyone that you dealt with can snoop all your transactions.

I'm not into ZCASH coin but as a privacy coin that plans to solve anonymity I think every feature that can make the coin to be 100% anonymous when making transactions should be implemented automatically, user on the shielded pool becoming linked to the transparent pool means Zcash has a privacy flaw, I'd rather choose other privacy coin

Zcash has a decent market capitalisation in the crypto market, but in a shocking revelation it has been found that Zcash users can be traced on the basis of their transactions. At this stage many will argue that Zcash has top notch privacy features, and I won’t deny this but sadly many users who use Zcash are failing to use those features properly, and if you’re using Zcash then read the below quote to make sure that you’re using Zcash coins in the correct way.

Quote

“[E]ven though cryptographically Zcash is very well-founded, the users behave in a way that does not take full advantage of the shielded pool, making them traceable. As each user in the shielded pool becomes linked to the transparent pool, the overall anonymity of the ZEC ecosystem reduces as the anonymity set shrinks drastically.”
