Main problem - it is not encrypted. Encrypt function is not active in Wallet menu. WTF?

I am also using it since 2 months ago with no issues at all
The GUI is nice, easy to use and the most of all, you are in hold of your private key

Indeed, the first time that connect to the blockchain will take a while but after that it needs a couple of minutes

No complaints here about Zcash4win, much better than Jaxx IMO -- Thanks for the tip about backups hard backups.

I've successfully connected the wallet to more than one Windows machine and had no issues.

Can you confirm the current size of the blockchain for me  thesmokingman?

The blockchain re-down load is not good.  If an external actor can crash your wallet from another node you could then be downloading a forked version.  That may be a way in.

Always remember to check the download with a SHA-256 checksum utility.

Thanks for your feedback

I've been using Zcash4Mac since February and like it. The only issue I've had so far is the blockchain sometimes can become corrupt and you have to redownload it; which can take a while. This has only happened to me when my laptop shuts down and my wallet is still open. Haven't had the issue if I close out the wallet once done.

You're actually running a zcashd node on your system and then the wallet connects to it. When it comes to backing up your wallet, backup the entire folder and not just the wallet dat file. Since the wallet.dat is tied to a database, it throws java errors when you try and import just the wallet.dat into a clean install.

Other than the above no complaints here so far.

I am also still waiting for independent positive or negative  reports to come in about this wallet.
All i can find out is from this website
https://forum.z.cash/t/zcash4win-beta-is-out/14155/33

The blockchain is about 15GB so I will try get one running on a Windows 7 virtual machine and send it some Zec and watch it for a while with flypaper, wire-shark and process-hacker running, but any feedback from users on this wallet would be good.

Just started using the Windows version this week, I like it much better than the other Windows Zcash wallet alternatives.

Looks to be a partnership between the dev making this version and the dev that created the Zcash GUI for Linux.

Anyone out there been using either of these? Any thoughts, comments, or warnings?

I've been messing around with a small about of Zcash within it, sending receiving, etc. No issues I've had so far with the exception of one of my computers having issues downloading the initial proving key.
