i think zeroclassic should remain to the original vision of the creator, proof of work, i will be interested if all of the specification of zeroclassic remains original, please do not make changes, as i will lose interest

We are now looking for new exchange to list Zerc.

Current full node wallet is nice and simple to use. Waiting for new GUI wallet to be released. Also mobile wallet would be nice.

I think that moving to POS would be good in terms of securing the blockchain. But that will come bit later over the time. Now we need to have mobile wallet prepared and create new GUI wallet. We are also looking to get new exchange with more trading volume.

All the things might bring in people who are looking for interesting project with use case. Some might look to hide their funds ( ). New Gui wallet might be interesting, but you should create also mobile wallets. I think that as you are not known to the world much, some word promotion might bring in new users. Tbh I dont think that it is good to switch to POS in near time, looking on the explorer, there is not much coins mined out. People should come in and start mining, that way the circulation supply will be more spread, now it looks more centralized. I dont know how people will look on the project if you say hey we have moved to POS because we are willing to protect the chain. You need to buy now all Zerc from the ones who mined before. But that is just my personal POV.

We've been discussing that particular subject because ZeroClassic network hash power is too small and we would like the chain better protected.
Big miners would always follow their profit target, I guess we can't expect hashrate to change much.

Sure ... Our primary short-term objective is to implement new exciting features from the upstream (Zcash). NU5 (Network Upgrade 5) will bring us Unified Addresses (the same address "outlook" whether it's transparent or shielded) and removal of trusted setup (bye-bye bulky and controversial zcash-params). After that, it will be the right time for decent GUI wallets, both full and light node. Since our #1 concern is privacy and tor v2 is retired (afaik), we'll try to add support for modern encrypted p2p protocols (tor v3, i2p and cjdns).

This looks interesting, can you guys tell me more about future development? Looks like mining is still at nice rewards even that trading is small. But in future Zerc can rise so mining few and holding is not bad idea. Thank you for reply

Equigems.online suffered a system crash yesterday, and our ZERC wallet got corrupted. I've recovered all the data and funds, but will take another 2 hours to see payments going out. Then, the pool will restart with a fresh wallet

I'm uploading a newer version of the Windows wallet previously posted, with zero.conf and ZeroParams already packed inside. Just make sure you have enough space, and just run ZeroClassic.exe. It will copy all files straight inside the correct %AppData% folders

It's inside the zip file linked above, probably while unzipping it your antivirus detected it as a risky exe and deleted it. Try disabling it or simply add them to your antivirus whitelist.

Hello Sailor! Yeah ATM is just a "stay on chain" soft fork. The source was just rebranded with some custom line
Once the forked chain settles, we'll add some hardcoded checkpoints and change the version of the deamon (included old version reject).

Meanwhile, two explorers are already setted up, just finishing to sync. Insight, on the other hand, needs a bit of rework to work precisely, even if repos are now public. Sharing both explorers list in 2-3 hours

based on a review of the code it looks like the Zero nodes prior to 1.0.14-2 will work on zeroclassic because the magicnumbers and default ports have not been changed. The version strings weren't even changed. This means that you can run zero 1.0.14-1 and all of zero's wallets for zeroclassic.

As far as i can tell it look like a find replace all kind of port with no changes to actually separate the network.

I'm installing a dedicated web-wallet meanwhile, unfortunatly I've never compiled wallets for Windows platform, only old bitcoin qt sources back in the days. Hopefully someone will come up with a compiled version soon

how large is the blockchain? windows wallet or any lite simple wallet available?

The plan is to have a coin totally driven by the community, maintaining the old zerocurrency concept. Regarding exchanges, I'm already in contact with C-Cex and Safe.trade. But believe, is still too early for exchanges: difficulty should settle, block retargeting too.
Dev team? Nothing official, only volounteers!


Hopefully, that's what will happen in the next month. 

Such features - fast, anon, & without dev fees, are great. But, this needs to be deployed in several exchanges to make this concept works. So a lot of people will benefit just like when you use doge when you want to transfer your money from one exchange to another.

We should have forked stright away succesfully as I can tell, equigems didn't got the first two blocks, voidr neither, probably large solo miners or other pools with old chain/deamon data. We're rushing with 600 sol/s, time to wait until the difficulty  retargeting kicks in!

It's...done. It tooks just longer because it's the first time I get my hands dirty with Insight (I've always used Iquidus) It works, feel free to try or setup a block explorer for ZeroClassic! I'll be able to set it up in 2-3 days, need to buy another server!

Another ZeroClassic full node is up!

I'm actively working setting up the explorer right now, already contacted some pools and exchanges to list it. Forunatly I know a lot of peoples inside the crypto world! Another 4 nodes should be released before this evening (hopefully)! I see I alreay have some peoples mining on equigems.online. Also Voidr is surely going to add ZeroClassic  


The only way to see them doubled, is by withdrawing your coins to an actual ZERO wallet. Then, you can grab the private key and load back your address inside our daemon. Hopefully I'l be able to provide a Win compilation asap, to simplify things. But be careful, on linux, the ZERO daemon can't coexist with ZeroClassic, so make sure to use another pc!

After the 15th, if ZeroClassic does his job, we'll see two different support chain! On every other ZERO discord, please inform other users, who doesn't want free coins!?

ZERC is a fork of ZeroCurrency and Zero. Zero is a fork of Bitcoin that adds shielded transaction via zk-SNARKs.

Statement
On September 15th, the old ZERO will fork to add block halving and dev fees. This means that a % of the Zero block reward, will go straight into the devs wallets. We've decided to NOT SUPPORT THIS UPDATE and continue maintaining the old fashioned Zero like it should be. Free, open source, without any fee, with no halving. This is why ZERO Classic (ZERC) is born.

What should I do if I already own some  ZERO [ZER] coins?
Zero will then have two chains:

• MAIN CHAIN --> the one for users who will update their wallet and support dev fees
• OUR OLD FASHIONED CHAIN --> for peoples staying strong on the first chain

Coins existing on the initial chain, before 15th of September, will continue to exists in both chains. Then, every fork will continue on his own. Even your receiving adresses will stay the same. (Private/Trasparent). This is called a soft fork because it doesn't acutally change the consensus of the first Zero blockchain. If you have ZERO before 15th inside your wallet, you'll have ZERC the same way. (Coins doubled)

How to install/update the daemon
Warning: it's suggested to install the new daemon on another machine. Zero and Zerc can't coexist on the same system without a consistent code change.
For users syncing from scratch, just fire up your wallet using those nodes inside your conf. (Please refer to the installation/compilation guide on GitHub README.md)

• no premine
• no slow start
• no halvening
• stable supply of coins
• minimizing violent mining strategies
• removes stressful event that heavily impacts miners and market price

• lowers the early adopter advantage
• steady reward for miners can result in lower fees in future
• at least some compensation for forever lost coins
