The Zilliqa network has implemented a mechanism to split in half the block rewards received by miners, halving the reward for mining each month in line with the network's move to Proof-of-Stake with Zilliqa 2.0

How does the halving mechanism work?

The proposal calls for halving the mining rewards in October, November, and December 2024.

Thus, total mining rewards in October would be reduced by 50%, and rewards issued after the implementation date would be reduced further to retroactively reduce the average rewards issued by 50%. In November, an additional adjustment will again reduce rewards by 50%, resulting in miners receiving 25% of the original reward amount. The third and final halving will occur in December, when miners will receive 12.5% of the original monthly reward amount.

Since this change takes effect on October 14, the halving of rewards must be done retroactively to account for the previous days to which this offer applies. Thus, awards for the remainder of October will be 22.25% of their original value. Awards for November would be 20% of their original value and awards for December would be 12.5% of their original value.

ZIL rewards have dropped sharply by 4+ times — K1Pool reports

Attention! Urgent announcement on ZIL:

ZIL rewards have dropped sharply by 4+ times. This is not related to the pool's work, but is caused by new reward rules in the ZIL network. ZIL developers have come to the conclusion that the current number of miners is no longer needed by the network. We believe that this is the final step before the network switches to PoS.

Recommendations:

1️⃣ iPollo owners are advised to disable ZIL mining and switch to mining one coin.
2️⃣ Jasminer owners should recalculate profitability within the next 2 days.
3️⃣ Bombax owners have nothing to lose and can continue mining ZIL.
4️⃣ GPU miners are advised to recalculate income within the next 2 days.

p.s. Previously, one node brought 540 ZIL, now less than 120. A drop of more than 4 times - such an unexpected turn.

T.y. for explanation.
If go to POS, hope 2 die.
That's what deserve all coins wich go from POW to POS, first cry for help at miners to mine it, an after kick miners un the a**.

I've seen posts about crashes in mining, it seems to be fine now. Read the news in the chat rooms of mining pools.

Zilliqa Submits a Proposal to Reduce Mining Rewards by 50%

On Monday, the Zilliqa team announced via X that they had proposed halving mining rewards to incentivize the transition from Proof-of-Work (PoW) to Proof-of-Stake (PoS).

If approved, Zilliqa believes it would create urgency for stakeholders to prioritize the transition. It would also minimize disruption and facilitate smoother PoS integration. Finally, the reallocated resources will fund innovation, community engagement and potentially stabilize the ZIL token price.

Zilliqa (ZIL) is one of the world’s first blockchains being built on a sharded architecture and features smart contracts written in the platform’s proprietary programming language: Scilla. ZIL is trading at $0.01535 at press time, down 1.5% in the last 24 hours.

Is 2 days, maybe 3, since zilliqa doesn't work, miner shows "unexpected EOF" file or "bad block height".

Tried on many pools like f2pool, crazypool, shardpool.

Anyone knows what is happening?

All coins that goes to POS, are bitches, first get helped to grow with miners work, then abandon them, like Shitallik BuTT, did.
I wish them all, an astonish FAIL! Kiss

Again 2 consecutive days, shares working on miner, but nothing earned on account/wallet. I think is time to quit this.
It'll soon stop on its own in a couple of months. Maybe in steaking this coin will work better.

I will remind you that this coin plans to change its algorithm to POS at the end of the year and there will be no mining.

The reward for mining this coin did not decrease. The chart shows daily fluctuations in rewards, but on the weekly chart you should have approximately the same data. It is possible that the profit will increase or decrease due to the luck of the pool.

If your profit has decreased significantly, then change the pool

Hi, I have observed in the last period, Zilliqa is lowered on reward and also harder to find shares when mining.
Until couple days since I have observed this, I was mining it on Ezil pool (dual mining), and everything was ok.
Usually I earned around 50 Zil on 24-27 hours with around 950MH real hashrate on rigs.
Then it lowered more than half of initial earnings.
Read about Ezil pool is closing on March and moved back to Crazypool, but here also poor earnings, compairing tho the past year when I used for couple weeks, crazypool.
There are entire rounds with 0 shares made, even if in pool it shows 1+ GH in hashrate (rigs are showed correctly in pool but achieve 0 shares on that round).
I use the same settings as in the past for both pools and rigs too.
Anyone, any ideea what's happening?
Thank's!

I keep mining Zilliqa with 85 Mhsh in a miner hobby now mining rig with 2 Nvidia cards and I have not seen any drop in rewards lately I keep making the same 30 Zilliqa to receive minimum payment in about just a bit less than 6 days meaning I make a bit more than 5 Zilliqa a day and if they truly have gone down I have not noticed it.

It means that the difficulty has gone up and the network has higher hash rate meaning it takes more power in term of hash processing in order to generate the same amount of Zilliqa you used to do before this increase in difficulty of the network.
