The what is extraordinary about, is effectively the cooperating bike-courier: its the firstone at all of the world, what accepts Bitcoin.

Its a double-hit: its Bitcoin and its Eco.

thats exactly what i thought while reading this.

plus: to use bitcoin for everyday things - like buying food online - is what will help bitcoin to be even more successful.

We can appreciate the adoption of the particular store, it's not a matter whether they convert to fiat or not. This would help bitcoin get established in that locality.

More good news from Switzerland.
A cycle messenger in Bern "sells" and delivers food. Customers can pay with BTC.

Its concretely a cooperation of 10 quite famous restaurants of the city of Bern with a local cycle-messenger.

Its named "Schnellerteller", what is a great name meaning "fast-plate".

To make the german newspaper understandable better:

the question is: will Zug hold the BTC or change them to fiat.

I am sure, the Swiss will make about hard fiat swiss Frankly immediately, because they will certainly not take the responsability for the currency-fluctuations of the BTC against the fiat in the bilance of the city. Thats very public in Switzerland and losses would be very unpopular.

That's a great start... Switzerland is one of the top cashless societies. Bitcoin is definitely a perfect match. Hopefully there is free wifi at the counters where you make payments.

No, I cannot confirm at all. Switzerland is one of the low cashless societies..
The Swiss like to pay cash always. Grin

I think I'd rather use my mobile data, if I log onto the local Wifi surely they could tamper with or intercept my transaction.
The chances of this happening are very slim. Why would anyone want to risk their position by tampering your small transactions? However, I do understand your point with mobile data (although your ISP could do the same).

They want to promote their «Crypto Valley Zug».
Taxes are very, very low in Zug and now they want to join the "new movement". After "Panama Papers" they need good publicity.
I don't see anything wrong with that?

If I use a public network, I don't use it for anything financial.

People always talked about the Switzerland of bitcoin, maybe it can be Switzerland after all!
The Americans have started to force the Swiss banks to open their books, meaning that the super rich can't hold their money in Swiss banks anymore.

Maybe they will start to look at Bitcoin, that would be a real influx of money!  As for Zug, nice, but I doubt many will pay their bills in Bitcoin until it is used far more widely than now.

They want to promote their «Crypto Valley Zug». ETH foundation is in Zug too.

And Zug wants to compete against Zurich. Which city will be the crypto capital of Switzerland?

Well, it comes down to the reasoning behind the decision. If there is someone from Switzerland or the area, they could very well easily find this out.

That is something really nice to see.Just imagine the possibilities available for bitcoin once more and more cities allow the citizens to pay with bitcoin various fees and services. And,not least, there is now more freedom for the citizens in this city to make financial transactions the way they're willing to.
