Hi. After you announced the competition, the price of the coin went down, the winners do not care about this project, they "lowered" it, the main thing is to win. This is bidding among themselves to win, and this is bad for the price and reputation of the project.

Hi guys,

congratulations to our first winner of the transaction contest!
https://bglcontest.bitaps.com
The address bgl1qqy7p25re48cgje5z7f2pa2shr5vvecjq5hayw7 made 603 transactions during last week!
For the first time some blocks had more than 100 transactions in them.
I bought BGLs for $500 on the market, due to volatility the rate of course changes.

Hey there!

We are glad to announce 'transaction contest'! This will pursue several goals at once:
- Stress-test the network and nodes;
- Attract more people install and run Bitgesell;
- Have fun along the way!

The rules are simple: every week (1008 blocks) an automated script (thanks to our community member bitaps who agreed to help with it) will analyze
the coming blocks and calculate the address that has made most transactions last week. This address would be awarded $500 in BGL!
We will announce winners weekly. The contest will run at least for 2 months. Good luck!

Listing on other exchanges will increase the reach of bitgesell project. This must be taken into the consideration.

I'm not an expert, just an investor, I bought BGL coins and keep them because I believe in the project and I really like it, I think we need more advertising, wallets and other technical problems can be regulated in parallel, very few people know about this project, when I tell people about BGL, I'm sure they don't know about it, the main thing is advertising, we can be a trader or investor without a personal wallet until it is completed (sorry for the translation, I'm from Belarus).

you have created a good project, but the marketing is weak, the price of the coin is falling, and the people who watched it to get into it and buy coins are not so interested, you need to raise the price and image of the project faster, otherwise the interest in it falls .catex.io trade has almost stopped.

Thanks for the feedback, we are working on this. If you have some actions that are realistic, please advise, we can consider them!

Whats the future plans and roadmap of bitgesell.

Good question. I thought about it and formed an approximate BGL Roadmap, community is welcome to check and give advice:

Tactical tasks (approx. time):
- Stress-test (let's make transaction contest, rules would be announced soon) (September);
- Technical issues (unit tests, code sync with BTC codebase, automated builds) (September-November);
- Software (wallets) - we are going to make hackatons (October-November);
- Infrastructural growth (node growth incentivizing, as bitnodes did with goal of 5000 nodes) (October);
- Cross-chain and DeFi integration (WBGL for staking/borrowing and DEX);
- Framework/DAO for community governance for BGL public wallet and project (grants for project development);

Strategic priorities:
- Core team expansion and formation;
- Marketing activities, social media channels;

plan would be updated, please post any suggestions.

What about listing to more exchanges. Is there something happening at backend.
Bitgesell should increase the reach of the project. When the people know about it , that's where mass adoption comes along with the listing to major exchanges.

Hi Guys!

I think that DEX (uniswap) and staking protocols (compound) are a very interesting vector of project development. Do you have some ideas or advice on that topic? Do you know developers that can help to do something for BGL like wrapped BTC or maybe even someone can do it, please write your recommendations. I also will try to look how to achieve that.

There is of course a desire to get listed on Binance, let's work on this process. I am trying to think of steps required, and if someone wants to help, that would be really great!

I tried to inform the community as early as I could, using this forum from the very start of the blockchain. Some media coverage required a website of the project to be present, so it took some time, and thanks again guys who helped with this.

Here are few thoughts I wanted to share with you:

- I have read recently Peter Thiel, and agree with him on the point of 'why do start-ups always try to invent something completely new?'. He mentions 'last mover advantage', that the last player coming to market has a significant edge over competition - as he can study experience of the earlier actors. When Satoshi launched bitcoin, he didn't knew that computational powers involved in BTC infrastructure would reach this level of difficulty (and resource usage) (https://www.blockchain.com/charts/hash-rate - check logarithmic scale). And it was impossible to predict what transaction fees would be paid to miners (https://www.blockchain.com/charts/transaction-fees). Satoshi also could not predict (there were just no cases available) how the crowd would react to halving and token burn phenomena.
Now this network reached a certain level of maturity and based on this information BGL can try to be 'beyond BTC', basing on BTC success and solid foundation with no-nonsense approach of reinventing the wheel.

Also there are some good news: we have one more maintainer for the core repo and things will be moving hopefully on that side as well.
