I was in a situation like this a couple of times while working on a crypto project. The scammer pretended to be my boss and asked me to pay the advertiser, saying he would compensate me later. But then, when I clicked on his profile, I noticed nothing unusual because the handle was similar. Then again, when I was about to write him a private message, I noticed I had not texted him before. But I am sure I talk to the project owner every week. Fortunately, I was able to catch them, and I wasn't scammed. I am sorry for your loss, Royse; even though it gives you another lesson, the loss is big compared to the lesson.

I observed the conversation on your Telegram account. In fact when I saw a message from your handle saying that someone who send a number of USDT token, right there, I knew something was wrong. Throughout my years of being in telegram groups, the major rule has consistently been that no admin will PM you or solicit for money, in this case crypto.

It goes to show we can never be too stringent with our security on online. Anyone who thinks it cannot happen to them is just a second away from being their next target.

Even you are a person who in my opinion is very Strict and detailed in everything can be fooled by such scammers.
I'm sure the scammer has been doing surveillance for a long time to scam you, and How did he find out your former client?
Maybe a scammer hacked your ex-client's telegram or tapped into the client's information in as much detail as possible and then read all the conversations with you and what was needed to scam you.
Then what are some identifications you do to try to convince that it's your old client?
It is quite shrewd when someone can get through the trap you set perfectly and can earn $0.019xxx BTC
Hopefully events like this can be a warning to everyone, including me, that anyone can be manipulated by scammers.

I posted it on my telegram yesterday and posting it here so that everyone can be alerted.
Do not continue chat in an group or 3 people but on the members list it shows you and your known user (real one). The scammer rename the group to impersonate your known user where scammers Telegram is somehow invisible and username is private. So you are thinking the group has only two people who are you and the real user you know.
