To get sponsorship money you need some angle, be it players, popularty or whatever. And that goes double for fantasy which has super focused group and nobody who isn't part of the pool reads this thread
You have a point there, I think over the cause of my first season participating in this group and competition, I naturally felt it was a member exclusive thread where users in the FPL get to discuss tactics and how to manage the proceedings of there team, I even had to rebuke a user whom randomly dropped by to share some comment on the games that week but, was made to come to an understanding that by Icopress on how the thread doubles as both an FPL and EPL thread on the gambling board.

This brings to mind that, though we might not have participation from everyone or even some players, it doesn’t necessarily mean that thread isn’t been watched. Before I joined up, I watched the thread for sometime.

I’m my first season, I think users on the forum could get an invitation link to join right from the sponsorship site, was that it… someone remind me if am wrong. While this might not advertise the sponsorship site but rather the forum, this thread, functioning as a double does reflects the sponsorship too.

All good if we can attract some truly bottlers rather than a bunch of Alts to boost the prize pool and increase the pool's competition, but the only concern is that if strangers from outside the community continue to win the larger prize, everyone will become bored and lose interest over time. I enjoy losing money to individuals I know, as well as taking their money for bragging rights.

Can we also increase a little % for those buying in from outside the forum? We pay 1, they pay 1.5 ( forum privilege)  Cheesy
I get your point, feels like they would just come in, take our money and leave right? I guess that wouldn’t bother you much if you were winning, lol… am not winning anyway but, I’ll be there soon and am not very much bothered on the fact that, I have those much better than myself having to win the prizes and teach me the game but, I’ll like to see these guys around. Not having them come with yet another alt every time, creating more and more accounts that adds nothing to the forum only to leave it after the season and multi-participate in the next.

Yeah but you guys are missing the other part of equation. We have to sell these pools to someone to get sponsorship. You can't sell a pool for the same 20 people which all already have their accounts made on all the bookies represented on forum.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind people from the outside, there is only so much room we can grow into here on the forum. Sports betting is a niche and then Fantasy is a niche inside that. On the other hand, as Igebotz says I also want to play against people I know and can chat with here on the forum. This season was a bit flat on the top since 3/4 people that I was fighting against most of the season aren't vocal here.

Banter is what makes these pools tick. Sponsorship money is a bonus we all enjoy but if it wasn't for that ask yourselves how many would join the pool actually? I know I would and I am quite sure for all the people writing here regularly as well. We just get more from it.

In short, if they are guys (or girls) who will regularly discuss things with us, by all means, otherwise keep them away. This is my personal opinion not my stance as a pool organizer. Who knows who will organize the pool, what sponsors we will have, and what rules that combo will land on?

Creating an account just to join isn't enough for me; we want individuals who understand the forum rules and are willing to play fairly; we shouldn't just choose people from the street to increase the pool size. I believe that this is a private pool that should only be open to Forum members who understand how this place works, care about their reputation, and are aware of the consequences of cheating in a pool.

The only time we let a random duck head into the pool, he nearly shot us in the head and stole our money. I'm fine with the numbers we already have. If it weren't for the few of us who keep this thread going, it would be somewhere among the 444+ pages buried in the sand of time, looking dusty like Liverpool's Donasiour era League titles cabinets

You need to be a forum user to join the FPL on the forum, that’s to say, it’s exclusive to for forum users but then, having to create an account with aim geared at participating in it’s forum exclusive FPL contest feels a bit off. Given that, the much that is done here would be undermined just for some fun time while contesting for a grand prize and runner up.

Even now, I feel a little board of the fact that, the season is gone, the FPL in another 3months then, we would have our guest users gone with their league oriented account, only to come back when there is a prize to be won. It doesn’t feel like the best approach towards the forum. They don’t leave us a ghost town, only to ride in when we preparing a fist.

More regular forum users would be nice. So, I’ll say get regular and get a pass towards some of the forum’s exclusive activities and not just a registration ID with a fee to support.

Despite everything that happened, I am always for inclusion of people. I don't think you will be denied entry if you want to play.

I also think that everyone should be able to get involved however I was thinking of inviting some of my friends outside the forum for next season. They would not only sign up to the forum but also would join contests. However after these incidents I would understand its not being allowed.

We're already dealing with trofo masterclass and we're all far behind and now you're just gonna bring in bunch of FPL experts to kill us all and take our money  Grin this is all fun playing with people I chat with here. Just my opinion.

That's nice to hear...my record across all pools from last season was awful so I have to check my spreadsheets and calculate how profitable every pool was before I make a decision but would be of course nice if the door is open for me.

How one man's misdeeds could affect so many others. Well, there isn't any rule yet to deny you participation bit in the event that a rule comes to be of that nature, you definitely would be in the clear and it might apply differently, based on forum participation and how long ago the account how existed prior to the pool creation.
Yes such people with "multiple personality disorders" make it harder for everyone.
I can understand now why bookmakers sometimes have to run additional security checks just because of such scammers and now even prediction pools aren't safe from them.

Speaking of Arsenal, am I the only one who consider their season not to be a failure ? I don't understand they didn't end up with a silverware other the community shield, but on a grand scheme of things, I think they did pretty okay, especially when you put into consideration how most of their derby matches, and matches against other top league competing power houses. This is probably the best year for Arsenal in the past decade, if I'm not mistaken.
Arsenal did well this season, but the unfortunate thing is that the only thing we have to show for it is the record we made.

89 points this season, higher than our 84 points from last season and we still did not win the league! Pep's side has been the weapon fashioned against us for two seasons. It is going to take an incredible performance, one that Arsenal losses no game all season in the league if we are going to beat this Pep's team.

for me the main fail of the season of Arsenal was the elimination of Champions League against Bayern Munich.
This was Arteta's first Champions League experience and the first for many of our players, What kind of performance were you expecting? I was delusional enough to think that we could do it, but I saw how shaky our boys looked against the more experienced Bayern Munich. The entire experience was just a learning process for Arsenal, we will come back stronger this season in the champions league.

Most definitely but, chances are that, you would make it eventually.  Grin

Wanna put your money where your mouth is? N50k I finish above you next season? Quote me if you're on....  Cheesy
Don’t you think it’s too early to start losing again, you just finished paying up your loses and is about taking up another because, am sure it’s something I would want to do. I wouldn’t hesitate to narrate in detail what I’ll be doing with your money. Don’t even think I’ll miss any chip in the next round.
Smartvirus is one sneaky player, he doesn't talk much about his moves, but he gets results. @Igebotz, I will not be surprised he finishes ahead of you.

On the other side of things, what may be surprising to you both is that I finish ahead of you both Cheesy (laughing in Satoshi)

People who are in very bad places in their first season shouldn't be sad. I was also bad in my first season and I completed this season in 3rd place after the disqualification decision.
I take motivation from this; this was my first season as well, and I will surely be better next season.

You did not understand. I didn't decide on it. It is official FPL tiebreaker. And it isn't about -4 points for the transfers. It is the total number of transfers in the season (free transfers + those that cost -4 points). Who has fewer - wins.
Oh that. Thought you were suggesting a means to some decider but, if FPL has these rules in place than that makes a lot of sense. So much for stats and a lot to know about these rules to the game.

70-80 minutes into the game, we were at the same point (705-705), and I was still leading h2h. I'm simply wondering what would have happened if we had ended on the same point.
Team with less transfers made wins.
Haven't seen how close I got, the differentials that served as the decoders and the possible scenraio of matching points in a season, I've had to wonder the same thing. Some rules as to the FPL already decides who could be ahead based on point deductions as per transfers bit in the absence of these, what then?

I think we should decide on this at all but rather, follow up on the table. The table by some means already places players based on certain criteria in these times, perhaps it would be best to let that be the auto decider.

Also it would be in my opinion absolutely understandable when bitcointalk member status restrictions will be applied for the pool after what happened.
I just hope that I will still be able to participate if I decide to play FPL again even if my member status is not very high.

I'm still undecided if I will participate next season too
Still not sure what I could have done better apart from making the mistake that I got Sterling instead of Palmer Cheesy
And it will surely hurt me to see the ongoing decline of Son Heung-min.
A player which I supported since his very early days when he was playing alongside van Nistelrooy in Hamburg.
It reminds that we all get older Cheesy

OK one day someone needs to fill me in on all this pizzagate, I'm too old to be digging through threads, but count me in for Bottler's side league next season. You guys know my FPL game is shit, but I can't stay shit forever, can I?
But you might if the prizes is about the top 5. There are just a few users that gets better and better by the season and aren’t making lots of mistakes to let some of us take the lead but, am coming for y’all next season. Ain’t no way am not getting a cut of the pie.

At least you're better than Harkorede -I just think we're too lazy to keep up with news and team changes, we're not that bad. I lost count of how many times I missed deadlines last season. This season I plan to do more.

I'm the Bottler league captain and must be in it right? I should have that privilege  Grin

I hope that I get accepted to the bottlers league again next year. I want to retain my title.

Lucky bastard, you're not special, you got lucky. We shall see.

I need to keep a journal of who I've been coughing the most at. I feel like Harkorede and CLS63 have been taking my money over the years, you and I probably trade medicine so are even.

Thanks to the money I got from you I have bought a new house. Thank you very much mate. 😂

Arsenal were quite successful in the Premier League however I think they needed to do much more in the Champions League. Especially this year European cups were a big disappointment for English teams.

Well yes, but that is the main problem when you are a big team, only winning trophies saves the season when you spend so much and after a few season being nearby to it, for me the main fail of the season of Arsenal was the elimination of Champions League against Bayern Munich.
