I would say trying out new foods.
I know it feels unrelated but there's this thrill and curiosity to try something new either I later regret it or not but enjoy taking the gamble.
Even with this I can't pass the importance of my quiet time
It makes me detach from the stress or anxiety of taking a gamble
This has helped me in reigning on my emotions and getting by in making less risky move
It removes the feeling of trying to regain my loss and feels like you learning Tai Chi.
So in a nutshell I would the hobby have picked up is enjoying my alone time and trying new cuisines.

What are some of the hobbies that you have picked up as a result of your long term gambling but that doesn't involve gambling? If you are an avid gambling who is not addicted that is you have control over your gambling you may have caught yourself unconsciously being attracted to so other activities within the sphere of gambling that doesn't involve wagering. As for me one of such hobbies /pastime is being active in a forum like this where there are gambling enthusiasts. I enjoy joining in the discussions that go on here, I also enjoy sharing tips and reading the experiences of other people with similar interests in gambling.
Only a few people can control their addictive nature in gambling places because the rest are still addicted to gambling places, like I often visit online gambling places, even though I only place bets limited to the capital I have, I still have to be able to control the money I have. use it to place bets. I find it difficult to leave gambling sites and if I have to then I will have to travel long distances or we can visit a gym to get in better shape. That way I slightly reduce the time I spend not visiting gambling sites.
Yea you are right, only few people can control their addictive nature in gambling. Sometimes no matter how hard people try not to get addicted they still find themselves being Addicted. Just like you talked about traveling a long distance or going to the gym and not visiting the gambling site , it may play some role in reducing the addiction but how long will it last? Because going to the gym requires a little time and surely you must come back home and face your fear. travelling you talked about may only be possible if you are not travelling with your mobile device or you are totally uninstalling the online app on your phone where you may not be able to gamble online but depends on offline games which if you stake on it, you will need to see the results before staking another game.

For me, learning what a bankroll was and managing it was the step prior to establishing a budget in my life and managing it as well. It was like the background of my personal finances and getting my financial life in order.

I'm not sure if that counts, but I was never into sports; I'd never watch a football match, except for special occasions such as the finals of the European Super League and when my country was playing. In simple words, I was never interested in or intrigued by football. After I became involved with casinos and gambling, I acknowledged the money-making opportunities I'd open by participating in sports betting, and I don't regret it. Now, I occasionally watch football, at least once or twice per week, mostly on Sundays that I have my day off, while I've made a reasonable amount of money through bets.
Sometimes it would be happening that way. Gambling could really be a stimuli for an individual to engage into something. Same goes for me who isn't really gambling in real life but have learned playing card games on my early years in gambling industry and I happened to like it. Then preference would take place getting you to other things which could yield to enjoyment. At least there is a bright side for gambling which is unlocking new interests such as sports. I know there are people who isn't into any sport but isn't it great to see that someone is enjoying sports industry? Although gambling is not a requirement. If it is just entertainment with proper risk management, gambling could still be a good activity that people could find joy with. Well, losing will always be a part of it but at least if you don't lose more than your risk appetite could endure, then I think there's no chances for addiction to happen.

I've not really noticed anything new apart from the fact that I've started involving in football discussions more often than I would normally do and it's always about who would win the next match and which team is enjoying the best form or if they are any sure games. Normally I used to be a player fan and would of love players over clubs but now it's all the stake for me, but it's quite cool 😎.

Although I've also picked up a habit of asking people for ticket codes to see what they are up to and conpre with my own predictions to sometimes clear my doubts on some games that I'm not quite sure off or to try my luck on someone else wager.

I have always loved mathematics and betting has refreshed my interest in it. When I calculate the odds of outcomes in games and various tricky combinations of how to place a bet, sometimes I have to return to the mathematical section of probability theory and remember how to do the calculations correctly. In general, now even if I don’t need it in a practical sense, I like to watch various videos on YouTube about mathematical paradoxes or unsolved problems, it’s actually very exciting.

If I'm not going into the casino to place a bet on any particular game, one thing that usually attracts me there is to watch live matches and follow up on some other people's predictions to see how the game will go and how my prediction will go if it plays according to my prediction or not.

Sometimes it's just to watch some of the virtual games, either horse racing or any of these animal sports, which only a few casinos offer. Aside from visiting an online casino, I don't know if I ever have time to go and search for or watch any of those games in any viewing centre.

Apart from gambling, on weekends I like to play billiards with my friends. and almost all of them have been involved and some are still actively gambling, including me personally. Gambling can indeed lead to unhealthy habits. In the beginning, apart from me really liking playing billiards, another goal of this hobby was to keep myself busy so I didn't gamble too often. However, instead of playing billiards preventing me from gambling, we instead added betting to the billiard game, with the aim of making the billiard game even more interesting to play. In the end, our daily lives cannot be separated from betting.

Indeed, when we add bets to a hobby that we like, that hobby will become more interesting to do, but because there is a certain amount of money at stake in it, sometimes this can cause disputes between us. Because when talking about money, a person becomes more sensitive and is easily provoked by emotions, so that in the end we are not able to enjoy this hobby properly.

Well i've noticed that people that i find funny, in a similar dark sense of humor, that i see as potential friends and connect immediately with, are almost every time either gamblers or ex gamblers. This is most likely because i have adhd, and automatically connect with others that have that. Adhd comes with dopamine deficiency, and dopamine is something i get from things like gambling. And as my fellow adhd peeps aren't that good at planning with money, they tend to gamble for dopamine kicks and as "shortcut for riches" (which almost never is a good idea).  If someone has a dice tattooed somewhere, i probably get along with them.

Other than that i can relate better to anyone who loses money or wins money, in very core level, as i can still get that feeling to my stomach when i was in loss and nearly lost my apartment. So, when i see people losing their money on movies or something like that, i sense if the writer knows what he/she is talking about. And i relate to gamblers in movies a lot.

Watching sports I otherwise would not watch.  Like NHL hockey.  I've tended to watch more of these games even when I'm not betting on them.  And even in the sports I do watch I tend to watch teams I generally would not usually watch like a San Antonio Spurs vs Houston game or something like that.  I've been more interested in following specific sports players as well and even fi d myself cheering for them

Once they become gamblers, they always remain gamblers, even when they pursue other hobbies such as sports with friends, to make the sports they do more interesting and challenging, they always place bets in them. For example, someone has a hobby of cycling, but to make the hobby more interesting, they compete in speed and place bets on it.

When someone is very addicted to gambling and betting, this will really become a bad habit. People who integrate betting as a routine part of their day often stray from an engagement with fitness and enjoyment, becoming preoccupied instead with wagers—which are typically outcome-focused. The development of such a tendency could foster addiction to gambling, thereby nurturing several other adverse issues such as those related to finance and personal relationships. For this reason, there is a need to maintain the interest as a pleasurable pastime alone and avoid introducing any elements associated with betting that could potentially dismantle it.

Maybe the one thing that I picked up because of gambling is the character of picking the risk that I should take on, we all know not all risk should be done, there are what we called calculated risk wherein you know if you should take the risk or not as for me I adopt that and applyung that in many ways mot just in gambling, more like a habbit, I'm uncnciously doing that and as a result I can minimize the losses or damage in every decision I have, so yeah not all things about gambling is bad its up to the person on how will he do good or bad in gambling, if you kmow you cant do good in gambling or pick up good things or traits in gambling then there's a problem with you. Learn how to make negative into positive like in gambling I'm sure gambling teach as important lessons.

I also have the same hobby like the op. I really like participating in gambling discussions in the gambling section of the forum here. Normally I was not too good in gambling in real life and as I joined this forum and Start to make comments in the gambling section and participate in some of the casino to gamble then I started enjoying gambling discussions here and it has helped.me to understand gambling very well so I really love joining the gambling discussions. There many things that I don't know in gambling before but as I came, I have known many things. Both the good and the bad.

That makes you not to be a fan of the game then, and you only follow the game when you have a bet staked, any ways there are ways that you may be getting notifications from those football score sites such as livescores and a few of the others so even when you are not betting you may have to follow up to keep up-to-date.
That is what I noticed. I do that most when I want to bet on matches. If my favorite clubs are playing, it will not come to my mind about what they want to play at all. But sometimes you will know that a club would win and they will not disappoint.

This will help you to make better decisions and choices when you are about to select your games to bet, that is what make football the most popular bets among gambler's because of the readily available information about teams, clubs, and player's.
According to 2021 report, people spend most on casinos.

Quote
The most popular forms of online gambling around the world are sports betting and online casinos, with the global sports betting market said to be worth almost $203 billion, and the online casino industry at around $270 billion.

It was a passion for gambling for me. I noticed that if I am not gambling, I may not check the score sites to know the clubs that are playing matches. But if I want to gamble on sport, I will check score sites and from there I can analyze and guess who would win a match. But some people that are not gamblers just like to do such prediction when common clubs in leagues like premier league are playing. I agree with what you said.
That makes you not to be a fan of the game then, and you only follow the game when you have a bet staked, any ways there are ways that you may be getting notifications from those football score sites such as livescores and a few of the others so even when you are not betting you may have to follow up to keep up-to-date.

Unironically card counting. I never really used it effectively, but I did learn about how it's used and I've tried doing it before in a match with a friend (they were aware, and no money was involved. Purely for my practice).

Other than that, then game knowledge for eSports. I play League so it didn't change there, maybe knowing how to read stuff better but that's it. Dota 2 was something I didn't really play but I did play Dota, so when I watch the games I have a bit of an idea of what's happening but nothing too deep. Watching tourneys for a long time made me build up game knowledge about it even though I never really played it myself. Fundamentals wise I still suck though once I tried it out.

As a gambler, every single knowledge you get from playing becomes your experiences both during your loss and winning. With each of them you get to know ideas and strategies which may likely work out for you anytime you wish to gamble. Just like you said, this forum is the only place where many Gamblers gets to discuss issues relating to gambling and how to tackle these ideas. We get to share ideas and opinions so anyone and apply in their gambling activities. Also, I make predictions for other people to play with. Kind of like for fun but sometimes my friends do call me to say they actually won.
You must be a psychic and an asset to your friends.

If I do a prediction for my friends, they already know they have lost already.
Beyond betting, I am attracted to streamers who play games online. I watch them and comment of their games. The games I like to watch is slots.

Knowing that some of these streams and its disadvantages, I stick with only lest than 4 live streamers on the YouTube.

My personal observation is that I am now drawn to movies that have a casino story line. In the last couple of months I have seen more than 10 movies on gambling. It is almost relatable to real life. And I request that you reading  this recommend more casino movies with me. I tried it with casino books or novels but it is just boring.

As a movie enjoyer, I'm interested to know what are your most recommended movie/s in this line of category Cheesy

but recently I noticed that I was able to complete “Uncut gems” without having to skip any scene of the movie.

oh shit, adam sandler + A24? sign me up lmao.

It wasn't in the trailer but it apprears MC was into sports betting, did he do other gambling games too? -- i think it's safe question, likely not to be a spoiler otherwise, ignore it lol.
