If it is me, I will preferably chose to do kyc before even using that account. Sometimes it is frustrating when you have won a huge amount and may not be able to withdraw it do to not having a kyc activated. So to avoid problems it's better doing the kyc before gambling than wining before trying do kyc.

As a gambler, before registering on any casino and even go for depositing, you should ensure that you've confirm and read their kyc. This way you won't fall into situations where you are restricted from completing an identification process and during your withdrawal process. This have actually been said so many times on the forum. But some users like the op on that post won't play listening ears. Kyc becomes hard a bit when your funds have become too large or over the maximum limit so they would require you provide good and correct documents for identification. Some people would wait until they have been asked, why not just save yourself the trouble in first place.

It is always an option to submit our documents as soon as we sign up on a new casino. Though, I understand why most of people would avoid to do so right away when joining a new casino or bookie.

The title of the thread doesn't match with your questions. Answering to the title of this thread: Yes, you can submit KYC before winning anything big, even before pacing any single bet or before making any deposits on a casino. All the old and reputable casinos have the KYC verification page on account settings. You don't need to reach live support for doing it.

Answering to your questions: No, gambler doesn't complete the KYC verification on their own (without the request of casino team). Still, a small number of gamblers (the big whale) complete the KYC verification before the request of the casino team, this practice is very rare in crypto casino.

Having read so many scam accusations against casinos and sportbooks having to do with withdraws and KYC tells me the best bet to avoid future problems is to do all this before you actually make a deposit, #Rule number 1!!

Don't give these guys a reason to hold onto your funds that you legitimately won without any foul play get back to the house for failing to pass KYC or not having the right documentation etc, otherwise before any win comes remember to pass your KYC and read T&Cs too to avoid any drama that can errupt with the bookie or casino because you never know when your big win might come!!!

If passing KYC has never been a problem then doing it when asked is a smart move especially if you are very conscious of your personal data 

I think there should be not an issue if you do the KYC before the casino blocks you withdraw and ask for the KYC. Infact to be more realistic, why not do the KYC before even depositing at the casino, so that in case the casino do not accept your KYC for any reason, your funds are not stuck there.

The only exception for those casino that do not have any KYC compliance and you will not find any link to do the KYC. Rest if there is a KYC link, better do the KYC first and then deposit to gamble. Also, i do not recommend, going on the news site and do the KYC and gamble. Better stick to already established ones, so that you are confident to some extent that your KYC data is safe on the site.

Some casinos provide features to carry out the basic KYC and anyone can do that anytime, however casino also still has the right to request it again and ask for more documents.
So I think its a waste to do KYC at the beginning if we have to do it again later.

It is better to read the terms and conditions very well because you can see on some casinos that KYC is not mandatory but if you check their terms and conditions, you will see that they have withdrawal limit to which there is not KYC. If the withdrawal limit is exceeded, KYC will be requested for. Also a gambling should be expecting the casinos to ask for KYC at anytime, regardless of being a fair player or not.

There's one of my friend who deposited at at centralized exchange without passing KYC yet on that exchange, and when he wanted to withdraw the money, he applied for KYC, which was left pending for so many days after several rejections of some documents he submitted. It was noted that if you don't yet have money on some of those platforms, like CEX and casinos, they will quickly confirm your KYC because they are expecting you to make use of that account, which is why you are applying for the KYC. 

With that incident, I just have this mindset that it's necessary to first of all pass KYC on any platform you want to have financial interaction on, so that once your money is in there, you can easily take it out anytime without stressing for KYC again.

I think it's almost the same if you use Mahdirakib's thread or the BTCGosu site. If KYC is mandatory, it will say so and you will have to go through it before withdrawing money (any amount), if it is not mandatory then they will not even ask you as long as you are a fair player, even if you win. I will submit KYC if the casino doesn't request it, but I am registered in a few casinos where KYC is mandatory and I knew that I would have to submit KYC if I wish to play there.

So before you register at a casino, you can check what they are looking for in these two places or on the site when you access the ToS.

If the casino allows me to play and withdraw an amount without doing any KYC, then I won't be submitting any documents on the site unless they require me to.  It is a hassle to submit kYC when it is not needed yet since personal identification must not be easily shared to any online site unless there is a reasonable need for it like claiming huge winnings that can be a life changer.


I am a small-time gambler so my winnings won't reach that high, so I just look for casinos that do not require KYC to play and withdraw small amounts of winnings.  So when a casino registration requires a phone number, I stop registering and look for another casino that does not require phone number, unless the circumstance needs it.

Well, if the casino requires you to complete a KYC verification just before you can proceed and play, then you should follow it otherwise it would cause inconvenience on your end when you win big and they are asking you to complete one. If ever there would really be that some liight KYC on your first registration then its really that recommended that you should really be putting up those real details rather than on putting up some fake information

There is nothing stopping a gambler not to proceed with full KYC on his account even before he wins. Casinos don't seem to force customers to do it because after all some may not end up winning from the casino before they quit and on the side of the gambler too, he feels why disclosing all about himself to the casino when he doesn't have anything at stake, like he is yet to win.
