Overthinking has been a big problem in most of the peoples life. Gives you a negative attitude, affects your relations with friends, family etc. How can you possibly stop yourself from overthinking when probably you have no control of what to think?

It is hard not to overthink. For me I always think that when you are focusing on the bad side it is not helpful you must always focus on the good thing. Every problem has solution.

When you focus on all the negative things you start to overthink, Next time you sense that you starting to feel it it's helpful to have a way to distract yourself with happy, positive, and healthy alternatives.

I overthink all the time, and I notice no negative side effects from it other than not being able to fall asleep easily. Quite on the contrary, I'd say the net effect is overwhelmingly positive.

Your problem seems to be a lack of focus and its resulting compulsion. If you want to practice focus you can just try to pay attention to your breath and increase the duration of that exercise over time, or practice calculations or other short-term memory tasks in your head.

You cant.....with that in mind. Obsess over something positive. You will become addicted to it the same way you do to negative thoughts. Just be positive and happy about your artwork. You are good and getting better everyday.

Fill your time with things that make you happy and forget the negative. If you sit still for to long that's when the mind gets you

Write your plan on a notepad or excel sheet. That way, all that's on your mind can be visualized for easy thinking and you won't have to spend too much time thinking over and over again.

I am often overthinking things aswell - I recommend trying to focus on what is happening right now. Start counting the things on your desk or concentrate on steady breathing, this often helps Smiley
